KENYA: PRESS RELEASE – ICC, RUTO, PM, PRESIDENT

from Ali Maalim

The lies they feed with their ill informed tribal loyalists are not only unfortunate but also potential risk to the country’s stability. In that regard, we urge the ICC to move swiftly to indict and lock up the six suspects or exonerate them immediately as the law so require. We strongly urge the Prime Minister and the President to stay on course

PRESS RELEASE – January 21, 2011
We, members of the Kenya Somali Community of North America take this opportunity to support the Prime Minister of Kenya, Hon. Raila Odinga, the President of Kenya his Excellency Mwai Kibaki, and the government, in their pursuit to implement the New Constitution of Kenya. Also, we take this opportunity to denounce the political opportunists who are attempting to paralyze the government’s business by spreading sustained lies against the Prime Minister, and thus forestall the implementation of the New Constitution. The lies pedaled by Mr. Ruto and his compatriots to wit the Prime Minister has influenced the ICC in naming of the six post election violence suspects, is not only false, but also, nonsensical. Neither the Prime Minister nor the President has any power to influence the world’s court. Ruto and his cahoots have scuttled the creation of the local tribunal when we had the opportunity to have a motion passed by the parliament. They argued for The Hague instead. Now we say, don’t panic, it is The Hague.

I wonder if Uhuru and Ruto can pass STUPID TEST?????. These two damagogues,.. I say to you, IT IS THE IDEAS THAT COUNTS IN POLITICS NOT AGE..HELLO!!!!!!!. Is Uhuru now telling us that old age was only good for his father when he died in office but not for any else in this country now???? . To Mr, Uhuru when you are at it, how old is was Mr. Kibaki in his first and second term in the office???. Is Uhuru telling us age is only an issue when potential President candidates are not from his region?? I wonder what happen from last election when age was not issue and now you must be at most 50 to be elected the President of this country??. I have not have the time to read the entire new constitution..can some refresh my memory on the age requirement to be President in this country. I doubt if this new document imposes maximum age on those seeking Presidential position in this country.

Uhuru should be reminded that during his father’s regime any discussion of Kenyatta’s health condition let alone his age could earn you capital punishment…look it up!!!. So Uhuru should just shut up when it comes to this age politic thing!!

For Ruto, what did you say or do when your beloved Moi screwed up this country for twenty four plus years of corruption and tortue?????. I bet your were busy getting patronage goodies from one of your own. Who are you tell Kenyans that the next President of this country “will be or must be 50 years of age “..what the f…are you talking about????. Ruto may be 50 or less but what has he done to this country to earn their votes to be President???. Any time we hear/see your name it is in Kenya court papers or at ICC. What did Ruto do at: Ministry of Agriculture ( Maize gate) what is with pipe line land sale in court? , what is up with ICC and what did he do with money from 2YK program under your body Moi and how about Mau forest land deals???

To Kenya voters don’t vote for these two stooges to lead this country or any one else because of their age. I hope Kenyans will not do so in the coming. It kind of sad and amusing in Kenya politics where: family names:Kenyattas. Odingas, Wamalwas, Mois , Kibakis are key to success in Kenya politics. What if the Uhurus and Railas just mention a few did nit come from these families..would they matter in Kenya politics? Or what if Ruto was from Kuria or Kissi with marginal population in this country would he matter in Kenya politics??.
When it come to age Vs good political ideas ,I would urge both Uhuru and Ruto to read more about these leaders and why they got elected to lead their countries: Obama, Clinton, Blair, Cameron , Reagan, Carter, Kennedy….. On the hand, they should also find out why people like : MaCcain, Dole, Ford, Bush Senor, Major lost their elections. All these people won and lost election based on their IDEAS not because of their ages!!!!!.

The readers on this website should also remind Uhuru and Ruto that most constitutions around the world tend to set minimum age limit to the office of the President..check out the new constitution of your country. Again, IT IS THE IDEAS STUPID NOT THE AGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hon Raila’s steadfast support for reforms in Kenya for so many years, his unequivocal support for the new consttution during last year’s referandum, his rooting for a local tribunal last year amidst protests by the likes of William Ruto for Kenyans not to be vague and face the Hague, his support for the ICC process when Kenya chose it as the best way to handle key suspects of the 2008 PEV MAKE HIM STAND OUT.

His stand on envoronmental conservation especially water catchment areas despite opposition by his key supporters made him stand out as a national leader who can be relied upon to make tough decicions for the good of the nation.

No wonder, all tgose who have been tainted with impunity and corruption in the past are gangimg up to frustrate his bid for the presidency.

It is indeed very sad seeing the President swallowing the bait of these self serving politicians. It is worse when the name of a peace mission is used. Geneine peace is peace for all Kenyans, not just for Kalenjins and Kikuyus.

It should also be very clear that we do not care whether the next president is below or above 50. We want a person who can offer transormative leadership to Kenyans and being below 50 is not a quality of being a good leader.

We say in very strong terms that the introduction of subjective criterai in political discourse and introiducing tribalism is not only counter productive but also unhelpful to anybody including those who want to apply them as shortcuts to statehouse.

I join you my brothers in sending a wake up call to fellow Kenyans to scrutinize these so called youthfull leaders who want to lead us back from where we have come from.

    Guys,
If the way they put it to us that RAO is the one who pushed for the names of PEV suspects to be on the list presented to Ocampo then the PM must really be powerfull to armtwist even international courts, the PM must be the man to watch all the time. They will blame him for anything even the lack rains is now being associated with the PM.My prayers are that he should not panic and do some stupid mistakes or make reckless announcements as is distractors have now become mistake checkers of what he says the next day.
All Press conferences should not be made if the number of MPS is not more than 50 and let other guys like JOE NYAGA,CHARITY NGILU,HASSAN JOHO.NKAISSERY and others from other tribes read statements and not the usual guys from Nyanza as this will give the credibilty its now a tribal affair.
Press conferences should not be every now and then and should be once and powerfull.Would urge the few sane people from Rift valley to hold on to their leader and not be swayed easily by the wave-people like Magerer,Bett and clear thinking citizens do not be like Henry Kosgey whom we took in ODM to redeem his image which has never been clean but we held on to him but now he appears to behave the way we know him[PUNDA].
    T.M.Nzissi.

  4. Yogo Mlanya

My fear is that these mushrooming tribal alliances could lead to a repeat of 2007-2008 !They are not about issues affecting Kenyans but just on how to prevent RAO from winning the Presidency come 2012!It is very sad that the proponents of the alliances have forgotten that we still have IDPs in the camps. And talking of IDPs,there has been the misconception that only Kikuyus are IDPs! Nothing could be further from the truth as they may have been the majority but not the only IDPs.Remebmer Ndege who lost all members of his family in Naivasha? He went back to a place that he had not been to for over 30 years and cannot therefore call it home and so he is an IDP!.

  5. T.M.Nzissi

    Wazee,
Raw hatred can make somebody do some stupid mistakes, people have been able to twist even our docile president to fit in their crooked ways. The president now is about to show his true colours-of a real kikuyu. The type who use and dump. How of all can the president be made to attend a ROA bashing made to look like peace rally in Eldoret, the fellow is said to not be easily swayed by other peoples opinions but kenyans saw his true colours on saturday-he ate the PM live.Thats a characteristic of a pure kikuyu-good at backstabbing.
The PM should watch carefully who he associates with as am suprised at the attendance of Waititu in PMs rally in Bondo, was the fellow geniunely there or was he sent to spy?.
The same kikuyus are making WIPER soil his hands by moving up and down Africa in an attempt to get support for Kenya to withdraw from ICC, they know how sensitive the topic is and they are using MR CLEAN to do dirty laundry for them. This will not work and kalonzo will end up the loser.

    MPs LINTURI AND UHURU KENYATTA

These two MPs think that those Kenyans who are older than they are should not be presidents of Kenya. Particularly Linturi in his weird recommendation wants the age of any candidate for the president in Kenya to be fixed by Parliament at 60 years or below.

The two have the arrogant obvious in intention of excluding, Raila Amolo Odinga, the man they fear most, from the presidency.

What would they say to Kenyans and the world in general about the age of our first president, Jomo Kenyatta, whom every Kenyan loved and embraced till he in his hateful anti-nyamu political rallies turned the people away from him? Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, the assassin, who was approaching 80 years when he took over as president of the new republic was never and is never seen in terms of his age by the people with uniquely GEMA cosmology of thinking as too old to be president.

If I was Uhuru Kenyatta I would think twice before I opened my mouth since his father was loved by all Kenyans, old as he was, but turned his hatred toward those who loved him and instead gleefully assassinated his own ministers!
