Kenya coalition unshaken by row: By Prime Minister Raila Odinga

From: gordon teti

This is my reaction to the comments by the Right Hon. Raila Odinga, Prime Minister, when he hosted Newspaper editors on Wednesday, February 02, 2011 during which he made a statement on the state of affairs of the coalition government following Kibaki’s nomination of candidates to various constitutional offices in Kenya.

Raila knows this better than anybody else: that Kibaki cannot be trusted. From now going forward Raila should stop meeting Kibaki in darkness of Harambee House when the two are discussing issues concerning the future of Kenya and her people. Meetings between Kibaki and Raila should be in the “open” and in “clear view” of the Kenyan people. The so-called consultations that Kibaki held with Raila before Kibaki went ahead to appoint KKK candidates as Chief Justice, Attorney-General, Director of Public Prosecution and Controller of Budget was a scheme and a trap set-up to hoodwink the international community and Kenyans that Kibaki followed the law.

Raila should not meet with Kibaki again in secrecy for if you do so the coming trap will be too dangerous for him to survive. Did Kibaki consult with Raila when he re-appointed Gichangi? No. Remember, Kibaki appointed Kalonzo as leader of Business in Parliament without consultations. Marende came to the rescue of Kenyans. Kibaki trapped Raila with fake consultations and went ahead and made the current high profile appointments without Raila’s input and have called on Marende to help. For how long will Marende be called upon to midwife on your behalf? It will not be for too long; so it is time to deal with Kibaki wisely.

The list of those people that Kibaki has fooled is long with the latest casualties being Justice Evans Gicheru who conducted, in darkness, the swearing-in of Kibaki after stealing the elections in December 2007. Martha Karua was cheated big time by Kibaki.Samuel Kivuiti and his disgraced group at the disbanded Electoral Commission learnt a bitter lesson.

Raila isbetter than this. Raila should stop giving these crooks the opportunity to make him look bad before the Kenyan people and the international community. From now henceforth any meeting between Raila and Kibaki should be recorded for Kenyans to know exactly what transpires in these meetings. Raila has nothing to lose but a lot to gain from exposing Kibaki and KKK group. Raila should be careful about deal-making with Kibaki for this will not be in his favour. The talks that Kibaki and Raila have agreed that a Luo will be taking this or that position while a Kikiyu will have that or this position is used to make Raila look bad among other tribes. That Raila is there only for the interest of his luo tribe while the truth is Luos have gained nothing from this coalition government compared to let’s say the Kalenjins who are now shouting loudest against Raila.

THE HATRED FOR RAILA AMOLO ODINGA HAS BLINDED SOME KALENJIN MPs

It is most strange and surprising that William Ruto and his Kelenjin sycophant MPs like Kotuny and Isack Ruto, among others, are shamelessly helping Kibaki get majority support in parliament for his illegal appointments of the Attorney General, Githu Muigai (a first cousin of Uhuru Kenyatta) and a mhindi as Chief Justice.

As soon as this happens it is only ones guess that Kibaki will definitely hang William Ruto together with his the Kalenjin MPs behind him in revenge for the Kiamba Church burning, thanks to the-to-be established Kibaki PNU a local tribunal!

The bad blood between William Ruto and Raila Amolo Odinga is good for Kibaki and PNU because it keeps William Ruto from seeing not only Central Rift being grabbed, but also the rest of the Great Rift Valley.

Meanwhile Ruto is busy planning to dethrone Raila Amolo Odinga as the PM. Well and good, but was not the same William Ruto who fought hardest a the Naivasha retreat to have the post of Prime Minister quashed? What is he talking about now , if I may ask?.

Thanks bwana Teti for your analysis. For anybody hearing about Raila for the first time, he would would be forgiven for imagining that he is the worst leader Kenya has ever had. Raila was the grand hero in the last two general elections- that which fixed Kibaki into power and that which the same Kibaki stole from him. That is Raila the stepping stone. Twice used by Kibaki to ascend to power and now apparently marked by two of the Ocampo six to justify themselves as victims of otherwise Raila scheme. They hope that the international world will see Raila in the same light. They will need to convert all that massive Kenyan garbage into gold before they can convince the world that Raila dictated to Ocampo who and who should not be the chief suspects of 2007-8 PEV.

I honestly “don have a dog in this hunt”… Dr. Okuthe I tend to agree with you in a small point that ” Kibaki ..will eventually hang Ruto and his group to dry”. I would also like to remind Ruto and his gang to remember what happen to “chewing gum”…when you chew gum you know what you do with it at the end!!!!!!.

I am willing to take small wager of: coke or Pepsi that the KKK alliance at the end will treat Ruto and the RV MPs like “rented mule or chewing gum”. Both Kibaki, Fruit Flies (PNU Mps.) and the chameleon VP Kalonzo are using Ruto as the lady of the night to knock out your PM from to be serious contender in the next election.

Since the O’campo SIX were availed to the public even before that , I have not heard/seen Kenya politicians addressing national issues that confront your country. I don’t re- call any major legislation passed or debated that deal with economic and social issues in this country. The 24/7 political foot ball game your politicians are engage in completely/totally avoid national issues.

The voices who carries the day are those of the Rutos, the RV Mps who don’t even know which party they belong to in the Parliament!!!!.

Georgie you may be right that the PM …has been the hero in two past elections however, in politics there are no parmanent alliances or enemies!!!!!!. As you can see now, people like Dr. S, Kosgey are bailing out of ODM and the PM to go back to their people…calling Kenya flag a rag that she uses for navigating traffic jam….”. Just to digress a little, such statements by elected official is some parts of the world if made against the national flag would be death sentence in holding public office again!!!!!. In Kenya however, primary loyalty is to: tribe political party of convenience then the country last!!!!..the Kosgeys are free to say anything!!!!!

Kenya politicians may blame your PM for so many things but the O’campo six in the eyes of international institutions will or is not one of them. By international communities, I don’t mean AU and African Capitals where your VP has spent “modest 37 million Ksh. to lobby for Kenya ICC pull out or deferral depending which day of the press conference. Only in Kenya where wasting 37 million shillings is called modest!!!!!.

Some have pointed out long time ago that the O’campo six should get good lawyers : Kenya government propaganda video that was shown to AU, Ruto and his RV MPs mouthing off against ICC, PNU underground campaign against ICC and VP World tour mission to protect the Six are waste of money and good will not get the Six of the hook from Hague trials. The fate of the Six is in the hands of the three pre-trial judges who will decide whether the case of the six will move forward or not.

It is laughable when I hear your VP talking about the “potential of Kenya judiciary to try the O’campo Six at home, Kenya is not failed State, we will petition ICC, UN security council for one year deferral”. The statements may sound good in Kenya domestic politics but from where some of us standing, these statements are jokes made by Banana Republics politicians who have no clue how international legal system work. For beginners, if Kenya file for deferral, US will veto the request in “New york minutes” and if you have doubt ask Mubarak of Egypt when he tried to drag his feet out of office last Thursday..by Friday he was out!!!!!!!!!!!. Sorry, Mr. Kerayi, O’ampo Six as you say in Kenya “will have to carry their cross”..your PM has nothing to do with their case or predicament.

Kenyans who are serious a bout understanding international law and treaty obligations specifically the ICC should listen to one of your own: the Justice Minister Mr. Kilonzo. I would go as far as recommending Mr, Kilonzo to be nominated for the Chief justice for this country instead the half baked list that has been forwarded by the President. The many “Fruit flies” Politicians who are now against the ICC in this country do not understand the ICC issue!!!

Oh! !!my goodness even satan cannot have as many accussations as you have
have directed to the PNU and our beloved presdinent who has really changed the face of our country.Infact if what you say is nationality i opt to remain a tribalist. Why do some people ever think they are best than other that they continue disscriminating others under pretex that they are true kenyans. It is the most unfortunate thing ever to have such a tribalistic website run in a sovereign country where evry one is entitled to hios opinion. If i ask does it mean that for a person to be a good leader must be a pal of prime minister. When he formed pentagon and ganged themselves to fight one tribe it was never an issue, but when those who blindly followerd realise their misrake it become an issue i wonder. We should respect all leaders irrespective of their stand and opinions all i mean.
One thing that will make our prime minister not win the coming election is the existence of this website which is tribal.Itb reflect the greatvhatred that some individuals have towards others which is unfortunate at this time of age if we were in stone age i could understand.I don’t mean that all you have posted my fellow commentors is false but theyu way you put it is wrong. If those leaders you think were angels would rule i think some of you will not forgivethemselves.I have this option instead of continuing mad slinging some leaders its better this website be transformed to help youths who are in much need.any way every body is entitled to his or her opinion.TODAY AM VERY much dissapointed to hear peole condemning the rule of our beloved president HIS EXCELLENCY COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF THE ARMED FORCES OF KENYA MWAI KIBAKI.!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Mr. Muraya:
What is your point????. Are you saying that PNU and the President.. brought change to this country..without the help of others?. Where have you been Sir.???..how did Mr. Kibaki came to power in his first term? Where was PNU or was PNU there?. “Who are these people ….who think..they are better than others? It seems like you have beef with the PM and people who supports him. I think this is great,,,this is what freedom of speech is all about. All you need is to back up your arguments against the PM and his supporters with facts not with generalities.

I thought the “Pentagon thing” was formed during the last election. If I recall, the ODM-_ Kenya and ODM was apart of it??. Didn’t Pentagon has representatives from all parts of this country?. To refresh your memory, people like Nyagah from Central, Coast Province( Balala) Eastern Province Njilu and many people from other provinces were represented in the Pentagon?. I don’t think Pentagon was formed to target against one tribe,,if I am wrong provide me with the facts I am missing.

Why do you think ODM has majority MPs in the current Parliament????..forget the Rutos followers Mps from RV of today!!!!! ( the answer is: “ODM Pentagon ” was national party that filded candidates in every Distric/ Province in the country).

Your argument that the Pentagon was formed to “gang against one tribe is only your opinion which you are very well free to express. No leaders or ..any leader should be respected for their own opinions or for their own facts Sir!!!. Leaders must lead by following the law and the agreed facts that covers and form the laws. You seem to be giving this website a lot of credit..are you saying that opinions/views on this website has greater influence in the future election of this PM?…I wish it was true..but again it is your opinion.!!!!!.

I am not from your country..I don’t vote here and I don’t have preference between your President and PM. I am interested in Kenya politics as apart of my proffession. If the truth has to be told, Mr. Kibaki and Mr. Odinga need each other forget about the” wind bag politicians” of all walks of life in this country. No matter who is the President, they must follow the rule of law in this case the constitution. To day I see Mr. Kibaki’s nomination for constitutional offices were ruled unconstitutional. Again Mr. Muraya, this is a win for the country not PM or ODM. By turning down these nominations, does not diminish the love for the President. The President MUST follow the constitution both in siprit and the letter of the law. If you believe in rule of law as I do,: nobody in this country whether be President, PM and Mps will never again act/rule by decree as they used to. Thank you for expressing your opinion on this website..you makes people like us think!!!!!
