Address Polygamy–Its good for women (?!)

from maurice oduor

Okapu Janeko,

Your name still amuses me somewhat. Eti Basket the Madman or is it the Madman’s Basket? Heheheeheheeee !!!! Your name reminds me of a former MP for Bondo called Jalang’o.

That aside.

Polygamy is wrong, wrong and wrong. I grew up in a polygamous family and I can guarantee you that it wasn’t pleasant for the household of the first wife. Don’t forget that by the time a man decides to marry a second wife usually he’s already somewhat fed up with the first wife. His financial resources are therefore directed more towards the second wife.

But Okapu, I’ll make you a deal. I’ll support the idea of a man having more than one wife the day I see you sharing one wife with another man. Deal? Let me know when.

Courage,
Oduor Maurice

Someone please bring a bill in the house to change legislation and legalize polygamy to help women who are continously going single cos of scarcity of men to include plural relationships.

This noble style of relationship has been openly practiced since the last 1000 years and the women in this plural style of management have never been denied their conjugal rights

I would rather we declare same sex marriage too illegal and make polygamy extremely legal since the former has more ramifications.

We can begin by conducting critical research amongst women who would agree that polygamy is sweet and acceptable.

It is vital that researchers explore the impacts of polygamy on women and children and gender equality, as well as the challenges that polygamy presents to society today and read the lines if you wont be shocked that 80% of women would support the same.

Refusing to accept or criminalization of polygamy does not address the harms that women in polygamous relationships face neither does it help address the dangers that women in single marriages face therefore our laws need to be changed to better serve women by providing them spousal support and inheritance rights.

Men today have so many mpangos simply because they have a ring and therefore are tied to the vows they made yet the problem is still there.

What do you think

While not supporting polygamy, it must be noted that polygamists like the late Akiku Danger were men of great management acumen. For lack of complicated enterprises to exercise their acumen, they created such complex enterprises in mea polygamies in which they exhibited excellence in managing comlex households. Verily verily I say, people like Akuku Danger could manage the most complex multinationals.

The study of the management style of polygamists should indeed be a mudule in Business Schools and Sociology Studies.

The policy implication for this is that instead of legalizing polygamy, the government should support those with polygamous tendencies to create mega enterprises as the banks consider them most credit worthy.
