NONSENSE! Why don’t you discuss the substance and merits of opposition politics and whether or not that is Kenya’s priority at the moment and not Ababu Namwamba? Frankly, who cares about Namwamba? The question, in my opinion anyway, is whether or not opposition politics is appropriate for Kenya and the answer is YES and YES. Democracy will be stifled if we suspend opposition and muzzle other voices just because Odinga and Kibaki signed a grand coalition government agreement. Just like many in ODM believe law and order as well as justice were suspended during elections and the violent weeks that followed and are now advocating impunity by openly calling for release of violent criminal suspects claiming they “did nothing wrong”, “they were fighting for democracy”, “they were chasing after their “cows”” etc, Kenya’s politicians will make major mistakes without some type of opposition to check errors and excesses. You don’t hear the clamor for MAJIMBO or “MONTHLY CASH TRANSFERS” to Kenya’s poor which these campaigns promised anymore, do you? Point being my friend, these so called leaders are prone to make serious pronouncements and mistakes to achieve self preservation; pronouncements which in many cases lead to despair and violence when they don’t deliver, we must be on guard AT ALL TIMES and a viable opposition is a very sure way to assure we don’t go down to the junctions of Idiotsville Ave and Too Late Dr.

You are as confused as what you are writing about.
If we must talk about justice and courts, then we must start with Kibaki, Kivuitu, The Police and everybody.
But if we must talk about Peace, National Healing and Reconciliation, then we must not talk about justice and the courts. That is all Bullshit if the real people who messed Kenya are not apprehended and also taken to court.

In reference to justice, yours is a moot point at this time omera, the president put the issue to rest at Madaraka Day gathering and justice will prevail, like it or not. As for grand opposition, don’t run scared, many in ODM claim they are in the majority and so there shouldn’t be any “wasi wasi” about the direction the country is going, right? I think the priorities should be IDPs and the economy, and education, there are at least four years left before the next election, why are we bickering about opposition, we do have a government in place Odhis, don’t we? Let’s give it a chance to work and if the others want to oppose it, it is very well within their right, let’s not panic. PM Odinga hasn’t panicked, why should we? Let’s give this thing a fair chance to work while we check for errors in the opposition… comprende?

It is not necessary for these to concentrate on formalising official opposition. What I think is urgent now is for them to form a cosultative forum to advocate for constituitional reforms. The fact that up to now, the names of those presiding officers mainly from eastern and Central provinces who withheld have not been made public makes me think we are not yet out of the woods. The ideal solution is majimbo where government appointees such as DCs and the likes assume the role of administrative secretary while the elected representative of the people exercise executive as well as legal authorities in their respective jimbos.
