In our continuous search of how to become successful in this world and make it to the home for the Saints,I would like us today to borrow a leaf from the field of Mathematics! Both teachers and students in the field of mathematics know as a matter of fact that knowing all the formulas does the trick! In like manner,to be successful, we need to know what the Lord of success needs us to know, understand and do!

It goes without saying, at least in my mind, that God’s claim that, “We are His by both creation and redemption,” is without question! He-God- is indeed a master designer of all that we see in this world. He, alone knows the end from the beginning, and what’s good for His creation!

Part of our suffering is as a result of our distorted thinking that we know better than God! That which in our minds we regard as making sense, has in the end proved to be the causes of our un-happiness, disease, and death! Allow me to cite but two examples:

1.Think about sugar for a moment! We all know that sugar in its many forms is good. Most people like anything sugary. But we also know that sugar is the cause of many diseases. Doctors and Dentists remind their patients all the time to stay away from sugar!

2.What about meat? A good number like meat and consume a lot. But meat too has been and continue to be a cause of many diseases.

So do you want to have good health? Here is what the Bible says:

Genesis 1:29 And God said,Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed,which is upon the face of all the earth,and every tree,in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed:to you it shall be for meat

Proverbs 20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging and whoever is deceived thereby is not wise

Isaiah 55:2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread?

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you

3 John:2 Beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health,even as thy soul prospered.

So do you want to succeed in having good health and avoid spending too much on medication and sending yourself too early to the grave? Then here is what the good book suggests. Choose a diet that is in line with the Lord of the universe. Avoid putting into your system anything that can have a negative impact to you and others.

While there are certain disease’s that come due to the consequences of sin and therefore we have no control over them, there are others more that we can avoid if we chose to.

So really the choice is ours! I have chosen to strictly follow my maker’s recommendations. How about you my friend?
