Kenya: A lost Generation and its Potential Social,Political and Economical Unrest

The Kenyan economy is beset by problems such as high unemployment and rising prices which could fuel civil unrest as 2012 elections approaches

Our leaders have gradually abandoned programs and initiatives that will stem unemployment, rising food prices, rising fuel prices latter has led to increased fares but these leaders have found its good to engage in sideshows about 4 nominations that wont add Ugali and Sukuma to our Menu.

We have Kenyans starving in some parts of this nation and we have solutions but we don’t want to institute legal mechanisms and framework to help alleviate food crisis in Kenya.

Housing in Kenya is very poor for many but leaders are not willing to work on policies that will make housing affordable for all.

I will like to remind our 220 plus MPs that they need to read and hear loudly voices of Kenyans on current events unfolding both in Kenya and in Africa which begun in Ivory Coast, then Tunisia,Egypt finally what is happening in Morocco and Libya could spell doom for us too.

Rising food and fuel prices in recent months have already hit poorer people in slums like Kibera,Majengo these are factors behind massive anti-government protests in Egypt and in Tunisia, whose president was ousted last month.

And as tensions keeps increasing as we approach 2012 elections, we could witness a rising social and political instability within Kenya – even war.

The above may sound far fetched but in reality it will happen unless we take proper measures that will stem unrest and identify ways we shall full engage the young generation that is now gradual becoming a lost generation.
