Mzee Hezbon died in the early morning of Sunday April 5th 2008 at Victoria Hospital, Kisumu.The body is at Star funeral home, Kisumu

He was the loving husband to Maritha Wagah. Father to Fred Otieno Wagah of Maryland, USA. Father in law to Lorna Otieno of MD, USA. Grandfather to Evelyne M. Atieno and Fred Otieno Jnr, both of MD, USA. Uncle to George Anyumba of MD, USA and Haggai Odep of UK.
