KENYA: WHY SHOULD WE HAVE THE KENYA POLICE???

From: Buiywo Siongiki

Christine,

you are very right! the police officers have miserably failed to provide security the public needs. it was a big shame Kajiado division was badly affected few days ago and that they do not have enough machinery to fight crime despite being represented by the Internal security minister..what a shame for Prof Saitoti.???

aside to that how comes the gangs are ahead of the police intelligence network??? is it time Police officers apply for their jobs and competitively get interviewed in public or though HR firms? is it time they sign performance contracts with the employers( this time the public tax-payers)?????

lastly i do wish to congratulate those Police officers who truly work their necks out to carry out investigations and bring to book culprits of organized crime…most specifically the 4 CID officers who were sacked whilst they were doing better than the rest.

The Police force in any country is supposed to maintain order and fight crime and that is why the Kenya Police continues to draw huge sums of money from the ex-chequer. But it seems that all the monies allocated to the Kenya Police is going into a bottomless pit as crime continues to soar both in the cities and in the rural areas.

This week alone, several murders occured around Nairobi and the countryside. There have also been several kidnappings and carjarkings in Nairobi. Kayole has been worst hit.Two serial murderers came out to report killing a total of 24 people without the Police knowledge at all. So many people have been crajacked and later killed in Nairobi including the former PS Wambugu. An MP was alsop recently carjacked.

In Rongai the OCPD said that they do not have transport when called to respond to a crime. God, this is 2010 and the Kenya Police have no transport to respond to a crime!!!!

Reported kidnappings and dissapearances do not get to be followed by Police nor investigated at all. The Only thing THAT the Kenya Police knows better is to ASK PEOPLE ON THE STREETS OF NAIROBI ABOUT THEIR ID CARDS..

Can the following people STAND UP and ask important questions on behalf of the PUBLIC about the KENYA POLICE?

1.Members of Parliament
2. The Civil Society
Where is the Minister for Internal Security?
Where is the Police Commissioner?
Where is the Public?

Can the public protest about these killings? murders? kidnappings? crajackings?
