    Subject:Fundraising Announcement for Mzee Henry Ochong

    We are deeply saddened by the untimely death of our father Henry Ochong Nyanungo of Gem Rae Nyakach on Sunday June 24th, 2012. Husband to Mama Pesila Ochong and the Late Elizabeth Ochong.

    Father to Keryne Ogutu of Bethlehem, PA; Roselyne Okendo of Chicago, IL; Dr. Edwin Ochong of University of California, San Franscisco, and several others in Kenya.

    Father-in-Law of Dr. Maurice Okendo Ogutu of USAID, Washington, DC; Dr. Judith Ochong of Berkely University, CA and many more in Kenya. Uncle to Dr. Gordon Ogembo and Dr. Becky Ogembo of Harvard University, Boston, and many others in Kenya.

    Grandfather to Joyce Okendo of Duke University, Roy Okendo of Kentucky University and Lauren Modi Ochong of San Fransisco’ CA, just to mention a few.

    The body is at Aga Khan Mortuary, Kisumu. Burial will take place July 14th, 2012 at his home in Gem Rae, Nyakach, near Rae Girls Secondary School.

    There will be a fundraising on July 7th, 2012, to help with the medical and funeral expenses; as well as enable the family to travel home for the funeral.

    Subject: George Omburo’s Mom

    We are saddened by the news of Dr George Omburo’s mom passing on Monday July 23, 2012. Mama Mary Omburo has struggled with diabetes for many years until yesterday when she lost the battle at Homa Bay Hospital Kenya. Mama Mary is survived by several children; Teresa Mbaya, Anjelina Ongola, Carolin Akinyi Mbuga, Pamela Atieno, Anyango, Joe, Peter, George, Kennedy, Lawrence and Bernard. She is also survived by several grand children including Nicholus, Paul, Stephanie, Derick, George Jr, Eddy, Brian and Doila. Friends and relatives are meeting daily at Dr Omburo’s residence to console the family. A funds drive to assist the family is planned for evening of Saturday July 28th at New Maranatha SDA Church at 177-179 Duncan Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07305.

    Degenerative diseases should not be killing so painfully, managed with proper medical care and optimum nutritional guide most are manageable e.g diabetes, hbp,immune disorders, arthritis, Parkinson,epilepsy etc. i get upset seeing their consequences in the obituary here. refer +254736550094

    On behalf of Kenyans in Allentown Area, PA and Kenyans in diaspora at large , we wish to convey our deepest sympathy, condolences, and commitment to the Obiero family at this difficult times.     We regret to announce the death of Mr. Oscar Omondi Owino who passed away at Cheltenham Spa, UK on Tuesday 8th January 2013. Oscar was the son of Mr Silas Awino and Mary Awino of Homabay, Kanyada Village, South Nyanza. He was the brother to the late Rose Awino, Michael “Akoko” Awino , the late Jane Awino, the late Kennedy “Awuoche” Awino, Tony Awino of UK and Jerry Awino of UK. He was brother -in-law to Emma Awino and Linah Awino both of UK.

    On behalf of my family and friends, I announce with great sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will the passing away of my dad Mr. Andrew Owuor Agwanda, retired Lands Adjudication Officer. Dad was promoted to glory on April, 9, 2013 at a Kisumu hospital where he had been checked in for an ailment.

    “Officer”, as dad was fondly referred to, was son of the late Mzee Zablon Owuor and the late Mama Leah Owuor of Kandalo Village, Nyahera, Kisumu County. He was husband of Mama Norah Agwanda and the late Ruth Agwanda. Father to Mrs. Millicent Ayoki, the late Tobias “Tobi” Agwanda, the late Mary, the late Riffath Alingo, the late Elly, Zablon “Kadir”, Lovena, Simon Agwanda “Symo” (NJ), Dinah, Daniel, Leah, Christopher and Gideon.

    He was father -in-law to Mr. Winston Ochoro Ayoki, Edith Gony-Agwanda, Dafina and others and grandfather to Beryl Ayoki-Otieno (PA), Yvonne Ayoki (MI), Cynthia Ayoki-Okello, Sharon Ayoki-Wanga (NJ), Edwin, Brian, Jeff, Valery, Tobi, Ouko, Andrew Jnr. Neville and Pricilia, among others.
