What we just achieved

Readers —

The polls are closed in Kentucky and votes are being counted in Oregon, and it’s clear that tonight we have reached a major milestone on this journey.

We have won an absolute majority of all the delegates chosen by the people in this Democratic primary process.

From the beginning, this journey wasn’t about me or the other candidates. It was about a simple choice — will we continue down the same road with the same leadership that has failed us for so long, or will we take a different path?

Too many of us have been disappointed by politics and politicians more times than you can count. We’ve seen promises broken and good ideas drowned in a sea of influence, point-scoring, and petty bickering that has consumed Washington.

Yet, in spite of all the doubt and disappointment — or perhaps because of it — people have stood for change.

Unfortunately, our opponents in the other party continue to embrace yesterday’s policies and they will continue to employ yesterday’s tactics — they will try to change the subject, and they will play on fears and divisions to distract us from what matters to you and your future.

But those tactics will not work in this election.

They won’t work because you won’t let them.

Not this time. Not this year.

We still have work to do to in the remaining states, where we will compete for every delegate available.

But tonight, I want to thank you for everything you have done to take us this far — farther than anyone predicted, expected, or even believed possible.

And I want to remind you that you will make all the difference in the epic challenge ahead.

Thank you,

Barack Obama

Barack Obama is just 17 elected delegates away from a majority — and you can help get him there.

At the start of this race, there were 3253 elected delegates at stake in primaries and caucuses across the country. After winning 32 of 49 contests, Barack is within reach of an absolute majority.

We believe that the winner of the majority of elected, pledged delegates should and will be the Democratic nominee.

Important primaries are coming up this Tuesday in Oregon and Kentucky. With your help, Barack could win enough delegates to reach this crucial milestone on his way to securing the nomination.

We need to do absolutely everything we can to help put Barack over the top.

Right now, thousands of people in these states are thinking seriously about what they’re looking for from our next president — and one voice could sway their decision.

I’m asking you to be that voice.

Use our simple online calling tool to call potential supporters in Oregon and Kentucky and make sure they vote for Barack:

http://my.barackobama.com/callnow  http://my.barackobama.com/callnow

We’ve come a long way together in this campaign, and Tuesday could be the day we reach a majority of elected delegates.

Passing this milestone will be an unmistakable signal to the media, the superdelegates, and everyone watching this election all across the country — the people have spoken, and America is ready for change.

Use our online calling tool to build our support in this final push — even if you’ve never done anything like this before. Here’s how it works:
        1. When you log in, you’ll get a list of 25 names that only you will receive. (If you don’t have a My.BarackObama account, creating one is fast and easy.)
        2. Click on a name, make a call, and you’ll be led through a simple script, question by question.

If you want, you can even print your numbers and the script and enter your results back into the system later.

Get started making a difference now:

For more than a year, we’ve relied on everyday supporters like you, reaching out person-to-person to build our movement.

We’re close to the nomination — please keep working to help Barack cross the finish line.

Thank you,
Jon

Carry our momentum forward in Kentucky

Obama for America

Dear Readers,

Join us in Kentucky
On Tuesday, Barack won a decisive victory in North Carolina and finished stronger than anyone expected in Indiana.

Right now, you can help carry our momentum forward in Kentucky.

There are only six primaries left, and this is one of the biggest. Here in the Bluegrass State, we can secure some of the final available delegates and move a big step closer to the nomination — but we need your help.

With only 12 days to go until election day, I hope that you’ll join us in Kentucky — just as so many of you did in North Carolina and Indiana — and go door-to-door to build our movement here.

We have thousands of potential supporters to reach, and no time to waste, so sign up to come to Kentucky and Get Out The Vote for Barack:

http://my.barackobama.com/CometoKY

When you come to Kentucky, you’ll see that we have a strong base of support here, with 16 Obama offices and hundreds of local volunteers working hard for Barack every day.

But in contests across the country, home-state supporters haven’t done it alone — they’ve relied on folks like you from nearby states to help them reach the finish line.

We’ll need you one more time in Kentucky.

No prior political experience is required — just a belief in Barack’s message of change, and a willingness to spread the word one voter at a time.

Help us win as many votes and delegates as we can — come Get Out The Vote in Kentucky:

Obama for America

Dear Readers,

We just won a decisive victory in North Carolina thanks to people like you.

Indiana remains too close to call. But what is clear is that we did much better than all the pundits predicted, despite Republicans changing parties to support Senator Clinton, believing she would be easier for Senator McCain to defeat.

Here’s where we stand.

As of Tuesday morning, we needed just 273 delegates to clinch the nomination. When the votes are fully counted Wednesday morning, we will have gained more than a third of them in a single day.

We have a clear path to victory. But now is the time for each one of us to step up and do what we can to close out this primary.

Subject: Vote for Change

Obama for America

Dear Readers,

National Voter Registration Drive

In every state across the country, there are thousands of qualified voters
who are not registered to vote.

Some believe their vote doesn’t matter, some have been actively disenfranchised,
and some have been overlooked or excluded by a broken system that has lost
touch with the concerns of ordinary Americans.

Barack and I entered this race because we believe there’s a chance to
change that.

From the beginning, our goal has been to reach out to people of all races,
ages, and backgrounds and bring them back into the political process. We must
use the rare opportunity we have right now to bring people together and make
this a better country for all Americans.

That’s why I’m excited to announce a 50-state voter registration and mobilization
drive we’re calling Vote for Change.

Beginning with a nationwide kick-off on Saturday, May 10th, more than
100 Vote for Change events will take place in every state, organized by our
dedicated volunteers who are leading this campaign for change in their own
communities.

Sign up to get involved now:

http://my.barackobama.com/voteforchange

This campaign is about the change in all of us — it’s about demanding
that we live in a different world and being ready to fight for the vision
that we have for our children.

And that starts with being engaged and engaging others.

If you’re reading this, you’re already somewhat engaged in this campaign.
But if your experience is anything like mine, you know at least 20 other
people who are not engaged, who are not focused on politics, and who may not
vote in November.

If we are going to change this country, the change must come from the
bottom up. That means reaching out in your community, in your circle of friends,
and even in your family.

You can help get new people involved in the process so together we can
finally solve the problems that this country faces.

Join Vote for Change today and start registering and mobilizing voters:

http://my.barackobama.com/voteforchange

Throughout this campaign, we’ve seen millions of Americans get involved
who have never been interested in politics, never volunteered on a campaign,
and many who have never even registered to vote before.

And some of our greatest successes have been recent.

Voter registration drives organized and conducted by supporters like
you have registered more than 200,000 new Democrats in Pennsylvania, more
than 165,000 new Democrats in North Carolina, and more than 150,000 new Democrats
in Indiana.

Those numbers just scratch the surface of what’s possible.

And that’s why Barack needs you. He needs regular folks, engaged not
just with their dollars, but also with their energy.

If you get involved with Vote for Change now, you can help equip enough
people in this country with the tools necessary to bring about the kind of
change we so desperately need.

Politics in this country can no longer be the way it’s been: divided,
isolated and cynical. We know in our hearts it can be so much better.

We’ve already come this far, and this nation-wide voter registration
and mobilization drive is the next step.

Be a part of Vote for Change, bring move voices into the political process,
and help America move toward a future filled with hope:

Obama for America

Dear Readers,

Thanks to you, we’re putting a new ad on the air in Indiana and North
Carolina responding to Senator Clinton’s attacks ahead of next Tuesday’s
primary.

It’s only possible because of the outpouring of support we received from
supporters like you before tonight’s financial reporting deadline.

The topic is a pressing issue in the race right now: how to solve the
energy crisis and get gas prices under control.

The ad shows Barack at his best, cutting through the Washington gimmicks
and talking about real solutions.

I hope you take a look now:

New Gas Prices Ad

http://my.barackobama.com/gasprices

Both Senator McCain and Senator Clinton have demanded that we suspend
the gas tax, which would not lower gas prices — experts say it’s likely
to increase the amount that oil companies charge for gas.

Economists on both the Democratic and Republican sides have called the
McCain-Clinton proposal a “gimmick” and “pointless.” Clinton aides even bragged
to the Washington Post that the plan is just a political ploy to help their
candidate sound like she’s against Big Oil.

Watch the ad that you helped air and see how Barack addresses this important
issue:

http://my.barackobama.com/gasprices

Thanks for helping us share this important issue with the voters of Indiana
and North Carolina.

The facts

Obama for America

Dear Readers,

Last night, Senator Clinton used up her last, best chance to cut appreciably into Barack Obama’s elected delegate lead.

She came up short.

In fact, she barely made a dent. At most, she picked up a net gain of 12 delegates — less than our gain, for example, in Colorado (where we gained 17) or Kansas (where we gained 14). Her gain in Pennsylvania was less than half of our gain in Virginia, where we added to our lead by 25 delegates.

But there is one measure by which her campaign’s gains are real.

The Clinton campaign claims they’ve raised $3.5 million dollars since the polls closed yesterday.

We can’t afford to let that go unanswered.

Please make a donation of $25 today to support this campaign:

https://donate.barackobama.com/thefacts

Grassroots support from people like you has the Democratic nomination in our sights.

Here’s how it breaks out:

  • After Pennsylvania, we have a lead of at least 159 elected delegates earned through all of the primaries and caucuses so far. We have a total of at least 1493 pledged delegates.
  • Meanwhile, we’ve been rapidly gaining ground among the so-called superdelegates (elected leaders and party officials who get a vote to choose our nominee), cutting Senator Clinton’s lead from more than 100 early this year to less than 25. We have a total of 238 publicly committed superdelegates.
  • The total number of delegates needed to secure the nomination is 2,024. That means we are only 293 delegates away from securing the nomination.

In less than two weeks, we’ll square off in the key battleground states of North Carolina and Indiana, when there will be as many delegates at stake as there were last night in Pennsylvania.

To grow our significant lead and close out this race, we must remain competitive in these contests and the 7 others that will follow.

Barack needs your support right now to finish this contest:

https://donate.barackobama.com/thefacts

Pennsylvania was considered a state tailor-made for Senator Clinton — she was always expected to win, and we trailed by as much as 25 points in the weeks leading up to the election.

But thanks to people like you, Barack gained support among key voters in the face of long odds and unrelenting negativity from Senator Clinton, and kept the margin close enough that her delegate gain was insignificant.

Indeed, the only surprising result from Pennsylvania is how much Barack was able to improve his standing among key voter groups since the Ohio primary.

Among white voters, Obama narrowed the gap by 6 points. Among voters over 60, he nearly cut the gap in half, from 41 points to 24 points. Meanwhile, we continued to run strong where we have all along — for example, winning voters ages 18-24 with over 65% of the vote.

Barack campaigned hard in Pennsylvania. He talked about his plans to stand up to the special interests and bring people together so that we can change Washington to turn our economy around, make sure that every American has quality health care, and bring this misguided war to an end.

Your donation of $25 can make sure we grow our lead and finish this race in the final 9 contests:

Obama for America

Dear Readers,

Over the past few months, supporters from all over the country have helped build an incredible grassroots organization in Pennsylvania.

And two nights ago in Philadelphia, more than 35,000 people proved it by coming out to hear Barack’s vision for change — the largest crowd we’ve seen so far in this campaign. But we need your help to make sure we turn this energy into votes. Watch this video of the rally and sign up to travel to Pennsylvania and help Get Out The Vote on Tuesday:

Barack in Philadelphia

We knew from the start that our campaign in the Keystone state wouldn’t be easy, but supporters across the country have answered the call for Barack.

Last month, volunteers helped register tens of thousands of voters — and thousands will take the day off from work or school to be here to help out on Primary Day.

Pennsylvania is just a short ride away, and making the trip could bethe most important decision you make this primary season.

Obama for America

Dear Readers,

Did you see the debate last night?

If you did, you saw more gotcha
politics and distractions than questions about the pressing issues affecting
our country.

In fact, it took more than
45 minutes before Barack was asked about the economy, health care, or foreign
policy.

Regrettably, Senator Clinton
seemed all too comfortable with that type of debate. She’s running a 100%
negative campaign in Pennsylvania, taking every opportunity to make personal
and discredited attacks against Senator Obama.

You can send a message
that politics doesn’t have to be played this way.

Make your first donation today,
and someone who’s already given will match whatever amount you decide to
give. You can double your impact, and you’ll even get to see the name and
town of the fellow supporter matching your first online gift.

Will you make a $25 donation
now?

https://donate.barackobama.com/match

Senator Clinton’s false, negative
attacks are exactly the kind of say-anything, do-anything politics that the
American people are tired of.

That’s why polls show that
the majority of Americans think she’s running the most negative campaign,
and 58% of voters do not find her honest or trustworthy.

Barack Obama wants to end the
politics of division and distraction in Washington so we can bring about real
change for ordinary Americans.

The stakes are too high to
play the same old games. More than 1.3 million supporters have responded
to Barack’s message of change, and with your help we can reach 1.5 million
by May 6th.

The most amazing thing

Obama for America

Dear Readers,

Make calls to Pennsylvania

I wanted to send this quick note before the big contest coming up on Tuesday in Pennsylvania.

In my role as the Voter Contact Director here at the campaign, I get to see up close the amazing impact you are having on the upcoming contests.

We’ve gotten where we are because people like you, in state after state, have reached out to friends and neighbors — and even perfect strangers — to talk about what’s at stake in this election.

And the results speak for themselves — we’ve won more votes, more delegates, and more than twice as many contests as Senator Clinton.

Tuesday’s primary in Pennsylvania kicks off the final 10 contests in the nomination process.

We face an uphill battle, but all this weekend people are gathering at grassroots phonebank locations to build on our momentum and make calls to potential Obama supporters in the Keystone State.

Getting together with other supporters to make calls will be a fun and important activity. There’s a phonebank location near you, so sign up now:

http://my.barackobama.com/phonebank4

If you can’t make it this weekend, you can also make calls from home any day between now and Tuesday. Our online phonebanking tool on My.BarackObama is available until 9 p.m. Eastern every night. Click here to get started:

In more than forty contests so far, we’ve seen that one voice is often all it takes to bring someone new into this movement.

Disappointed

Obama for America

Dear Readers,

Make a matching donation

In the last 24 hours we saw renewed attacks from Senator McCain and Senator Clinton.

The same John McCain who voted to extend the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest few said I was “out of touch” when I spoke about the frustrations that working people in this country are feeling.

Maybe that’s to be expected from John McCain. But I was disappointed to hear the exact same talking points from my Democratic colleague, Hillary Clinton.
When a candidate who believes lobbyists represent “real people” says that I’m out of touch, that’s when you know politics is being played.

But in the last 24 hours we’ve also heard from people like you.

We asked some of the 1.3 million people who have already donated to this movement for change to share their story and promise to match your first donation to the campaign.

Here are some of the people waiting to match your donation:

Rick from Florida matched a donation of $25, writing:

I am a typical American just like you. I’ve served in the military, I work hard for a living and I want what’s best for my country, not just me.
I’ve seen what’s happened over the last years and I am deeply saddened, worried and, yes, even bitter. But I see something in Barack Obama I have never seen in a presidential candidate in my own 45 years and the hope and inspiration I feel right now brings tears even as I write this to you. We don’t get many chances like this. I don’t have much to give but I give what I can because it’s important and I ask that you please consider joining me with a few dollars that, added to the small contributions from millions of people like you and I, can be what it takes to really change things. Thanks in advance!

Eve from Oregon matched a donation of $50, writing:

I’m thrilled that Barack recognizes how frustrated so many of us are by the politics of fear and cynicism we’ve seen these past seven years! But what really sets him apart is that he’s not afraid to speak the truth and say what’s not supposed to be spoken – that yes, we can love our country but also be frustrated with it’s direction and leadership.

Thank you for making a donation to this amazing…campaign! Yes, we can!

See for yourself what kind of movement this is. Make a matching donation now:

https://donate.barackobama.com/match

When we started this campaign, we said we were going to do something different.

We said we weren’t going to take money from Washington lobbyists and PACs. And the cynics said we would never be able to compete against the status quo.

But what the cynics didn’t anticipate was you.

They didn’t understand that people like Rick, Eve, and you were tired of a politics that was about tearing each other down instead of lifting this country up.

And they didn’t understand that you were going to finance this campaign with contributions of $5, $25 and $50 at a time.

There’s nothing elitist about the largest grassroots campaign in the history of our country — and you can prove that right now.

Who’s out of touch?

Obama for America

Dear Readers —

Make a donation

You’ve probably heard about the latest dust-up in the Democratic race.

A few days ago, Barack spoke about the frustrations that working people in this country are feeling and said what we all know is true: that many people are bitter and angry because they believe their government isn’t listening to them.

You and I both know that the hope of changing that reality is what drives the unprecedented support for this campaign from ordinary people in every part of the country.

But our opponents have been spinning the media and peddling fake outrage around the clock. John McCain’s campaign, which will continue the George Bush economic policies that have devastated the middle class, called Barack out of touch and elitist. And Hillary Clinton, who is the candidate who said lobbyists represent real people, didn’t just echo the Republican candidate’s talking points: she actually used the very same words to pile on with more attacks.

These comments show just how out of touch Senator McCain and Senator Clinton are with the reality of what’s happening in this election.

We’ve built the broadest campaign of ordinary people in the history of presidential politics — and more people across this country have voted for Barack Obama than either one of them.

And we’ve done it the right way: our campaign is funded by everyday people giving $5 or more. That’s distinctly different from Senator McCain and Senator Clinton, who both rely on money from Washington lobbyists and special interest PACs.

There’s nothing elitist about a movement of more than a million people standing up for a different kind of politics.

If you’re fed up with these kinds of tired attacks, you can do something about it right now. We’re setting a goal of 1.5 million people giving to this campaign by May 6th.

Right now, one of those million people who have already given to our campaign is waiting to match your first donation. No matter what amount you choose to give, our system will match you with a supporter who has promised to match someone’s first donation today.

You can see for yourself exactly what kind of movement this is. When you make your donation, you’ll see the name and town of the person just like you who matched your gift. You’ll also see a note from them with their story and why they gave, if they chose to write one.

You’ll double the impact of your donation if you make a matching gift right now. Will you help fight back now?

https://donate.barackobama.com/match

Barack Obama’s own life and story are reflected in the character of this grassroots campaign. He was raised by a single mother with help from his grandparents. He has a family he loves, not long ago finished paying off his student loans, and he’s doing what he can to help change this country.

That’s what he’s done for his entire career. After graduating, he became a community organizer, working with people in Chicago who — like many people across the country right now — felt left behind by their leaders.

When you make a matching donation, you’ll be paired with someone with that same sense that it’s time for a government that is responsible to the people for a change.

Someone is waiting to hear your story, and to share theirs with you. If you can support the campaign at this crucial moment, you’ll be able to share your story about why you’re committed to this campaign.

And because this is a matching donation, your gift of $25 will be doubled by another supporter. You’ll have twice the impact and help reach our unprecedented 1.5 million-person goal. Make a matching donation now and be a part of history:

https://donate.barackobama.com/match

The attacks from the Clinton campaign — on Barack Obama himself, and on supporters like you — can be expected to increase as her chances of winning dwindle further.

A few weeks ago, one of her top aides tried to diminish our success by referring to the places we’ve won as “boutique” states and to our supporters as the “latte-sipping crowd.”

That means 30 states and territories — twice as many as Senator Clinton has won — qualify as “boutique.” And the nearly 15 million people who have voted for us (again, more than Senator Clinton) must drink a lot of latte.

It’s clear that Senator Clinton will continue to say or do anything as her campaign gets more and more negative.

But 1.5 million donors will be an astonishing and undeniable signal that it isn’t the elites fueling this movement — it’s the American people.

That starts with you.

Thank you,

David

Dear Readers —

There are just three days left before North Carolina’s voter registration deadline, and I need your help to reach as many supporters as possible.

Bringing more voices into the political process is what this campaign is all about.

You can make a difference today, right from your home. Use our online phonebanking tool, and start calling North Carolina supporters now:

Across North Carolina, there are tens of thousands of people who are ready for change — but many are not yet registered to vote. We need to reach out to them, and we need your help.

Our success in this campaign has come from ordinary Americans believing in the power of one voice to bring change. In North Carolina — in these next three days — you can be that voice.

Pick up the phone, make a personal connection, and start making a difference now:

http://my.barackobama.com/callNC

Our on-line calling system is easy and fun to use. Here’s how it works:

    * Start making calls.

Thank you for getting involved and building this movement,

Barack

P.S. — This weekend, volunteers are gathering at grassroots phonebank locations across America to reach out to voters in upcoming primary states.

Make calls now

Right now, you can help
build a base of support for Barack in Indiana and bring more voices into
the political process.

To participate in Indiana’s
primary, voters must be registered by this Monday, April 7th.

Tens of thousands of
Obama supporters may not be registered yet, and we need to act quickly to
reach out to as many of them as possible.

Each call you
make could be another vote for Barack in an area where we need your help
the most.

Use our online phonebanking
tool, and start calling Indiana supporters now:

http://my.barackobama.com/call

Registering voters is
more than just an important part of our campaign strategy — it’s what our
movement is all about.

From the beginning,
Barack has set out to bring more people and more voices into the political
process. And if we can reach more people in Indiana, we can make a lasting
impact and win victories for the Democratic Party up and down the ballot
in November.

All across the country,
volunteers will be making calls into Indiana to tell potential supporters
about the deadline and encourage them to register.

No previous
experience is necessary.

All you need is a hunger for change and a willingness to turn your enthusiasm
into action.

Our team has put together
a list of the most important calls you can make into Indiana right now:

http://my.barackobama.com/call

Here’s how it works:

  1. Log into

    My.BarackObama.com

    and
get a list of 20 names that only you will receive. (If you don’t have a
My.BarackObama account, creating one is fast and easy.)

  2. Click on
    a name
    , and
you’ll be led through a simple script, question by question.

  3. Start making
    calls.

Personal contact is
the best way to grow this movement, and you can make these connections right
from your own home.

It’s easy — start by
making five calls, and I know you’ll want to make five more:

Yes, they can

Obama for America

David – –

Today is the 40th anniversary of the tragic assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and I want to share a video that reveals how far we’ve come and how much this campaign owes to Dr. King’s legacy.

Students at a high school in the Bronx, who had no real interest in their government, have found new hope. They were surprised by their own excitement and engagement, but to me, they embody so many reasons why Barack and I decided to get into this campaign.

It’s truly moving to see young people inspired by a political leader — someone who gives them hope and reminds them that they can be anything they want to be if they work hard.

Watch what these kids have to say about politics and race in this country:

Yes, they can

http://my.barackobama.com/yestheycan

Much has changed in this country since Dr. King’s death, and thanks to his life and work we have taken critical strides towards racial equality.

The simple fact that Barack is running a competitive campaign for President is a direct result of Dr. King’s legacy — and this movement for change would be impossible without the support of people of all races, ages, and backgrounds.

I remember back in December of 2006, a group of us were discussing the possibility of Barack running for President. And as you might have read, I was hesitant about the idea.

But then Barack started talking about why he really wanted to do this — to bring people together and to change the tone of the way we talk to each other in this country. He talked about the need for people to be inspired by their leaders, and the importance of leadership to chart a different course. He talked about Dr. King and Bobby Kennedy, and their passion to challenge a new generation and provide them with role models.

Barack promised that as a candidate and as President he would do everything he could to bring new people to the table. He shared his desire to reach out to our neglected inner cities, to strive to be a role model for young people, and to connect with people who are not involved in politics — those who feel their voices haven’t been heard, those who have been left behind, and those who have been turned off by all the petty bickering in recent years.

We can change that, by standing on the shoulders of folks like Dr. King who came before us.

Watching these students who are excited about their own role in politics for the first time, and watching Barack as he strives to live up to the challenges Dr. King made possible, I am truly touched.

I hope you’ll watch this video and share that feeling with your friends and family:

Organizing Fellowship

Obama for America

Christie – –

Apply

I want to tell you about one of the most exciting projects of this campaign.
It’s called the Obama Organizing Fellowship.

When I was a young man, I was inspired by the Civil Rights Movement
and the idea of people working at a grassroots level to bring about change.

I got my chance on the South Side of Chicago, as a community organizer,
and it was the transformative experience of my career.

It allowed me to put my values to work and to see that real change
comes not from the top-down, but from the bottom-up, when ordinary people
come together around a common purpose.

The experience changed the course of my life — and I want to share
that kind of opportunity with you.

That’s why we’re introducing a program that’s going to train a new
generation of leaders — not only to help us win this election, but to help
strengthen our democracy in communities across the country.

If you apply and are selected, you’ll be trained in the basic organizing
principles that this campaign and our movement for change are built on. You
will be assigned to a community where you’ll organize supporters. Assignments
will begin in June, and you’ll be required to work a minimum of six weeks
over the summer.

This program is designed to give you real world organizing experience
that will have a concrete impact on this election.

Apply to be an Obama Organizing Fellow and put
progressive values to work in the real world:

http://my.barackobama.com/fellows

If you can’t take the time away from work or your family that’s
required for the fellowship program, you can still get involved.

Being a community organizer wasn’t easy, but it was the most valuable
education I ever received. It taught me that together, ordinary people can
do extraordinary things.

Organizing changed my life, and I hope it changes yours.

Thanks,

Barack Obama

Important deadline in Indiana

Obama for America
Michael – –

Volunteer in Indiana

Indiana’s primary is just six weeks away — but there’s only one week left before another crucial deadline.

Anyone who wants to support Barack in Indiana must register to vote by April 7th.

After more than 40 contests, we have won more votes, more delegates, and more than twice as many states as Senator Clinton. But the race is still incredibly close — and Senator Clinton is targeting Indiana.

Can you come to Indiana before April 7th and help bring more voices
into the political process?

http://in.barackobama.com/canvassIN

Indiana will play a pivotal role in securing Barack’s lead.

Volunteers from nearby states traveled here last weekend to register voters for Barack. And we’re going to be making one last big push to register voters this weekend, before the April 7th deadline.

This campaign has been powered by grassroots energy from the beginning, and now is the time to transform your enthusiasm for Barack into action.

Join fellow supporters in spreading this movement for change across Indiana:

Thank you for your continued support,

Mitch

Meet Barack for dinner

Susan  —

If you’re wondering what it might be like to join Barack Obama and three fellow supporters for a casual dinner, you should watch this video.

From the very beginning of this campaign, Barack has rejected contributions from Washington lobbyists and special interest PACs. Instead, he has relied on grassroots donors like you to support this campaign, and this is not the first time he’s invited you to join him for an intimate dinner for five.

Get a glimpse of a previous dinner with Barack, and make a donation before 11:59 p.m. EDT on March 31st. You could join Barack and three other guests for an evening of good food and good conversation:

Dinner with Barack

https://donate.barackobama.com/dinner

One of the folks in that video is Michael Griffith, a miner from Fernley, Nevada — he was one of Barack’s guests at a dinner last year.

We gave him a call this week and asked him to talk about the experience so that we could share it with you. Here’s what he had to say about it:

“It was an awesome experience — Barack spent hours talking to us, and at the dinner table he was just like any other guy. It really felt like somebody invited friends over for dinner and good conversation.

My dad is a paralyzed vet, and his health care costs are huge,so I talked to the Senator about how he planned to provide for our veterans. He gave a thoughtful, detailed answer, and I could tell that taking care of our veterans was a big concern to him.

But we didn’t just talk about politics. He talked about his children, and his wife, and how much he misses his family when he’s on the road. And those of us with children shared stories about our families, too. He was a funny guy, and there was a good amount of joking around. All in all, it was a great conversation.

Ever since the dinner, I’ve remained active in the campaign. I was the precinct captain for my neighborhood here in Fernley, Nevada, and we won our caucus. I also went to the county convention, and we won there too.

I’m grateful to have been a part of this, because I know that beyond winning an election, we’re also changing the way politics works in this country.”

People like Michael are transforming politics in this country
— not just by changing the way campaigns are funded, but by getting involved on a grassroots level and working for change in their communities.

While Senator Clinton and Senator McCain have accepted millions from Washington lobbyists and special interest PACs, this campaign has relied on more than a million individual donors giving only what they can afford. Just last month, more than 90% of the donations to Obama for America were for $100 or less.

If you make a donation in any amount between now and 11:59 pm EDT on Monday, March 31st, you could join Barack and three other supporters for dinner and a conversation about the issues that matter most to you.

Make a donation and share your story, and you could join Barack for an intimate dinner for five:

Barack Obama in Black and White in Color

Posted March 18, 2008 | 06:15 PM (EST)
By Julie Bergman Sender

EXCERPT:

And then Barack Obama delivered his speech this morning. A speech that confirmed the historic value of his campaign no matter what happens.

“…we cannot solve the challenges of our time unless we solve them together — unless we perfect our union by understanding that we may have different stories.”

Obama is not a conventional candidate. And it is because of all the things he is and all the things he is not. He understands that we ought to respect all of our stories and learn each other’s stories to protect ourselves from our destructive patterns and from ignorance. He is working to help us find the connections between all our stories while not losing our distinctive narratives. And to accept our multi-layered memories as the truths they tell us about ourselves and one another.
