    Death Of Janet Auma Awino – Sister Of Zilper Aluoch .

    This is to announce the death of Janet Auma Awino, wife to Romanus Awino of Asembo Loc.Rarieda Dist. Mother to Phyllis Awino, Marcy Awino and Vivian Awino all of Kisumu. She was sister to Zilper Aluoch (Mrs. Aleki) and sister – in-law to Alex Aluoch, all of New Jersey. Janet was the aunt to Hilary Okumu (Owino), Trufena Okumu (Fenah) and Catherine Okumu (Cathy) all of New Jersey.

    The late Janet passed away on Wednesday night ( 9th December 2009) in Kisumu after along battle with cancer. A fundraising event has been arranged for Friday December the 18th 2009 at the Days Inn Hotel on Route 206 South in Hillsborough New Jersey, this is to help the sister and other members of the family travel to Kenya for the burial which has been set for December 26th 2009. Janet also left a huge hospital bill which the family needs help to clear.

    We humbly request friends and members of the community in the Tri – State and a far to appear in person or send their contribution to make the Harambee a success.

    ANDREW OKUNGU – FUNERAL AND HARAMBE ANNOUNCEMENT

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    Funeral service and Harambee for ANDREW OKUNGU(Wuon Chike) will be held on Saturday December 19th, 2009.

    The Funeral Service will be held at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHAPEL, 141 STAGE ROAD, MONROE NY 10950 from 5.30pm to 6.30pm followed by viewing of the body from 6.30pm to 7.15pm. The schedule of the church is very tight at this time of the year and the times posted above will be closely observed.

    The fund raising will follow immediately at GRACE EPISCOPAL CHURCH, ONE FOREST AVENUE, MONROE NY 10950 from 7.30pm till concluded.

    For Direction to Chapel and Harambee venues, use Map quest or GPS for guidance. A print-out of direction from Chapel to Harambee venue will be given at the Chapel.

    Please came in large numbers to bid farewell to wuon chike. He was a man who stood tall and was a very active member of our community . Let’s contribute whole heartily to make sure that Andrew is sent off with dignity.

    We are saddened to announce the death of Mr..George Nyangweso of Nyakach District, Nyanza province Kenya that occurred on January 11th 2010 at Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA .

    George is the brother of Otieno Nyangweso of The African Pride -Uhuru Books and Bob Nyangweso of Instant Equity mortgage corp. The Family recently lost a cousin to stroke and now A brother George. George left behind his beloved wife Vivienne Nyangweso and two children Aida Nyangweso (14) and Jossy Nyangweso (10).

    For those of you that didn’t already know, my brother George Nyangweso past away to a cancer related disease, on January 11th 2010 at Hennepien County Medical Center in Minneapolis MN.
    My family along with Friends and well wishers are coming together to make an effort of raising Funds to take George’s remains back to Kenya where we hope he gets a well deserved and dignified burial.
    As you may have heard, we had a fundraiser last Saturday, but we fell short of our target funds, necessitating us to plan for a second funds drive which we hope by support from each and every one of you we will help us achieve our goal.

    For those who have lived in Minnesota for atleast the last seven years, know how George and I have supported and been their all our friends and community as a whole, whenever they have been faced with similarly difficult challenges.     She is the daughter of the late Ibrahim Guya and Julia Odera Guya of Sare, Awendo (Kenya) and sister to Phoebe Olwal, Francis Olilo, the late Moses Guya, the late Berry Guya, Aloys Obunga, David Oweke, Elizabeth Omondi and Anne Guya.

    It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden death of our beloved Kileon Angwech Agola also known as Kadona which occurred on Wednesday February 9, 2010 when a Prison’s lorry lost control and hit him on the road side in Nyakach Koguta. Kadona had been living in Nakuru, Kenya before relocating back home in Nyakach after retiring. He worked for many years with the Ministry of Labor, Nairobi before moving to NSSF, Nakuru.

    He was a loving husband to Florence Angwech Agola for over 33 years. He was the father to Lydia, Sammy, Peres, Juliet, Dori, Esther, Nashon, and Rebecca who are still going to school at different levels.

    He was a beloved son of the late Nashon Agola (brother to the late Dr. Naaman Ondego and Bob Aloo), and the late Dorsila Agola. Brother to Mary Obiero of Boston USA, Selah Anyango of New York USA, Naomi Cheche, Rhoda Lwal, Agnes Olingo, Flora Mboga, the late Rose Mboyi, and the only brother left Toby Osoro Agola aka Matieka.

    He was the first cousin to Mrs. Helen Odinge Odera, Mrs. Rose Odotte, Tom, George, and Nick Ondego, Monica Aoko Ade of Maryland, USA, Richard Odera Mbeche of Kansas City, USA , and Janet Palo Ondego of Texas amongst many others. He was uncle to Sue Obiero of Worcester, Betty Omollo, Doc, and Dorothy Odotte of PA, Carol Ogaye of Atlanta, Betty and Winnie Ogaye of Texas, Ben, Millie, Amos, Lydia, and Winnie Odotte of NJ, Norman and Chris Angwech of Worcester, Naaman Pallo of Virginia, amongst many others. Atieno’s name was made famous by Awino Lawi’s song which went by the same name. Given that Osolo, who was Awino Lawi’s wife and about whom he frequently sang, the passing of Atieno Nyar Kajulu marks the end of an era.     With deep sorrow and sadness the National Council of NGOs (NaCoNGO) would like to inform you all that Mr Justin Nyaludasa Mkomigumtwe Mdemu passed away yesterday 24th May 2011 at around 4.00 am in Kigoma Hospital.In the recent past Mr. Mdemu was working for NaCoNGO as a volunteer Programs Coordinator. His relatives have come to inform us that they will meet today at 4.00pm for funeral arrangements and theyj will thereafter inform us on the decisions made. Meanwhile arrangements are underway to transport the body of the late Mdemu from Kigoma to Dar es Salaam. After paying final respects(time not known yet) the body will be transported to Mifindi District, Iringa Regions for burial.

    We will let u know on what is going once we get new developments from family members.

    Death Announcement of Mzee Zakayo Robare Motaroki (Guku)

    It is with great sorrow that we post the tragic death of Mzee Zakayo Robare Motaroki of Botori/Geticha Village, Kisii Township. Mzee Zakayo was knocked down by a speeding Motor bike at Mwanyagetinge- Nyanchwa, around 8.00 a.m. on Sunday 06.12.11. He was on his way to Kisii Cathedral church. The late Zakayo worked in Kisii School between 1965 to 1983.

    The late Zakayo was husband to Berina Bonareri and father to Mr. Aloys Manyange of USA, Margaret Ososi and Beatrice Orangi of Kisii-Kenya; father-in-law to Rachel of NJ, Aloys Orang’i, Charles, Joseph, Isaac, Isaiah all of USA and the late Peter Ososi. Mzee Zakayo had 14 grandchildren among them Faith (Canada), Brenda, Max (VA), Jackline, Douglas, Orangi and Kako among others and two great grandchildren. He was brother to the late Mekenye, Rafael, cousin to the late Omurwa, Obiri, and Samson Manyange; brother-in-law to Marianna, Rachel Omurwa of USA, Ruth, Moraa, the late Basibika, the late Anna and the late Rosa among others. Uncle to Jane Mekenye AZ, Carol, Brian and Zilla all of Minnesota, Isaboke, and Josiah Manyange of VA, Philomena, Elmelda, Mochama, Tom, and Moochi of Kenya among others.

    USA, NC: A Kenyan Youth Died While At North Carolina Beach

    Geoffrey Okinyi Onguti Passed away on 26th June 2011 at a round 03:00pm. He was with two other people on an intertube at Carolina Beach when a wave flipped them over, he did not know how to swim. The other got help back to the beach where they told a lifeguard about their missing friend. Lifeguards searched for Okinyi and found his body underwater around 3 p.m.

    Geoffrey moved to the USA less than a year ago from Korosai Nakuru Kenya with his father Samson Okinyi and mother Kwamboka Okinyi and two of his siblings. He was due to report at the US Marines recruiting training center on the July 7th, 2011 .

    He lives behind his lovely parents’ sisters Moraa Okinyi, Nyaboke Okinyi, Kemunto Okinyi, Kerubo Okinyi and a brother Keganda Okinyi, some in the USA & others in Kenya.

    He was aloving and devoted youth in Raleigh North Carolina. He had accumulateda large number of friends. He will be missed by all his Family and many Friends.

    Funeral arrangements are going and his body will be shipped to Kenya where burial will be at Korosoi Nakuru District. Burial details will be announced later.

    Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and financial support.

    It is with great sadness and sorrow we announce the death of Mr. William Nyamwange Michieka on 8/1/2011.

    He was the first born son to late Michieka and Nyatero, Step Son to Rael Nyarangi.

    Father to late Mary Meroka, Prof. Richard Nyamwange, Moraa Nyamwange, and Esther Nyamwange.

    Brother to Francis Michieka, Grace Nyatome, Thomas Michieka, Stanley Michieka.

    Father inlaw to Prof. Monicah Nyamwange, Lumumba Manoti and Gentoto Teya. inlaw to simion nyatome,Robert onhiri

    Grandfather to Doris Moraa Meroka, David Meroka Jr., Moraa Teya, Michieka Nyamwange, Joseph Abuga NYamwange, Jackson Nyamwange and Willie Nyamwange among other grandchildren.
