Re:Farewell part 1

It seems as if farewell’s or good-bye’s do not resonate well with people of all cultures. This is particularly so when it has to do with that kind of farewell/good bye that come as a result of death.

In the next several posts, I will bring out some of the farewell’s/good bye’s as found in the sure word of God.The first in this series is that of Joseph. What do we know of Joseph?

1. He was born and brought up in a polygamous home.
2. His way of life was in tune with what was expected of him by the parents and by extension God.
3.He was a dreamer and the beloved of his father.
4. He was hated by his brothers who finally settled on selling him instead of killing him
5.He stood firm for what he believed was wrong; a decision that caused him big time trouble
6. The people he made and helped while in prison forgot about him.
7.Through him,his entire family made it to Egypt, whereby he took care of them without any revenge whatsoever
8.He saw his being sold as a blessing in disguise.
9.His enemies would not stand on the way of that which His God had in store for him.
10.He died of old age.

NOTE HIS FAREWELL MASSAGE!

Then Joseph said to his brothers,” I am about to die. But God will surely come to your aid and take you out of this land to the land he promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. And Joseph made the sons of Israel swear on oath and said “God will surely come to your aid,and then you must carry my bones up from this place. So Joseph died at the age of a hundred and ten. And after they embalmed him,he was placed in a coffin in Egypt.” Genesis 50:24-26

And in this way ended the life of one who suffered greatly but the good Lord not only was with him, but fought for him all a long until Joseph became all that the Lord intended.

Note that before he died,he left all his family and offspring in the hands of Him,who alone has the destiny of our lives! What a farewell!

More to follow on other examples.

Be blessed.
