IMPORTANT RE: Mungiki Menace

I think we should not take Opiacha lightly

Why do we see things being done in the dark nowadays?

Firstly, there was the issue of a cargo load of firearms at Mombasa, or wherever it was. Then, come Thursday evening, we learn of a secret recruitment into the police force, where the ‘krutu’ are to take only three months instead of the standard six months training.

Cant we now suspect something is going on wrong somewhere, or the powers of the day are planning something lethal…?

Let’s wait and see!

My take on this is a little different than what perhaps others may think. When the mau mau fought the mzungu, they were extremely tactful about it. Mungiki may end up with the same strategies.

I for one do not support violence, looting and killing of any individual whatsoever. Had our people i.e. some kisiis, kalenjin and luos had not started slaughtering kikuyu’s – the sleeping dogs would still be asleep. Not all Luos, kisiis, kalenjins and luhyas voted for ODM. Not all Kikuyus voted for PNU – some of them voted for ODM yet perhaps those were the first ones to die. One Kikuyu man living in Kakamega voted for ODM – but they killed him. Those who were killing did not for one second stop to think that their own might be living somewhere in Kikuyu land. The way I understand it most kikuyus are not forgiving people and I try no to mess with them.

Just because someone isn’t your blood relative does not mean they deserve to die. Kibaki stole the vote, everyone knows it. His people did not steal the vote. Only his hardliners him helped and those are the ones that deserve this kind of punishment. The poor and or the common man just struggle to sustain a family and sometimes might have no idea what politics is and how it is done. Most women and children could careless of what politics entails.

It becomes very difficult to preach peace when people aren’t practicing any. No one likes a taste of their own medicine. You don’t see Kibaki and Odinga sons fighting on the streets and if the worst comes to the worst – they will be airlifted some place else. They are sheltered while others are sacrificed for democracy.

Mungiki will not be stopped – a lot more will be recruited and they can only catch a fraction of them. The country is not only unstable right now, but a lot has been destroyed, there are no jobs hence the economy stinks. So what do you suppose those young men will be doing? Did I hear “Gangsterism”? For them to conduct something horrendous only takes a few bucks to push them through the day. Police, army, paramilitaries and etc will be trying to help their own and destroy others.

Until people stop killing their neighbors for these senseless reasons, am afraid we are going the Rwanda way.
