PhD in Ogotagorana!

I was born and brought up in Bonyunyu, Nyamira District. As you can imagine, I am indeed very proud to be Omogusii and will never exchange it for anything.

Since the days of Bonyunyu,I have spent most of my adult life in Kericho, Kakamega, Nakuru, Kapsabet, Eldoret,Thika, Nairobi, Uganda and now in USA, among different tribes and nationalities.

Each of the tribes or nationalities that I have gone to school with, lived with, or worked with, are known for certain things; some good and some bad.

When I think about our people-Abagusii, this is what comes into my mind:

1. Very hard working
2. God-loving people
3. Very sociable people always going an extra mile to assist all those in need
4. Love education and have spent money on educating themselves, their siblings and their own children

That said, I have but one concern. Some of us are not known to build each other. If anything, I see a situation where some of us have earned PhD in ogotagorana!

For how long will this go? Depends on whether some of our people will see the need to major in building each each other. Will I? Will you?

Just a thought.
