Civility in Kenyan Politics; Let’s Do Away With Hate and Other Nasty, Destructive Habits

In Civility In Kenyan Politics; Let’s Do Away With Hate and Other Nasty, Destructive Habits, I recall the experience of meeting someone from the opposite side of Raila/ODM politics and one particularly unhappy with my blogging regarding his preferred candidate/coalition. I note how despite this gentleman’s unhappiness with what I write, we nonetheless had a very courteous, civil even brotherly discussion with this gentleman who turns out to be a close Uhuru adviser and confidant contrast this with the hateful name calling and other uncivil responses yours truly gets from those who support the same candidate or others far removed from the candidate who they don’t even know and vice versa (read the candidates don’t know them) and that should tell one all they need to know as to which one is the right way and which one is the wrong, unacceptable way of dealing with political disagreement–or disagreement, period!

Civility in Kenyan Politics; Let’s Do Away With Hate and Other Nasty, Destructive Habits

A few days ago, I was at the Serena meeting with a friend and business associate. Sitting not too far from our table were five gentlemen, one kept looking at me as though he wanted to say hello or something and this went on for some time but nothing was exchanged.

The person did not look any familiar to me at all but it was clear by the way he kept looking at yours truly he either knew me or was confusing me with someone he knows, which is not unusual.
