Kenya: The year that was; 2010

from odhiambo okecth

Friends,

As we close the year, I want to wish all of us God’s Bits of Wood the happiest Christmas Season.

It has been a tough year but we have braved it well as Kenyans. Against all odds, we voted ourselves a New Constitution on the 4th August 2010.

With that done, we have work cut out for us in the coming years. In 2012, we must all troop to the ballot boxes once more and put some sense into National Leadership. At least, this time around, we will do it well.

As we go for the Christmas Season, let us all ask ourselves what roles we can play in redeeming Mother Kenya. We are in debt that our politicians cannot explain. We have people of all sorts of characters that we have voted for into our Country’s leadership.

We could have been induced by many factors, but that must be behind us as we start the Year 2011. This is the Year that will either make or break Kenya. This is the time that we must marshal our world acclaimed optimism to overcome.

Let us all join hands in the firm knowledge that we are indeed One Family Under God and help do justice to our Mother Land.

For those who are destined for the Hague, let us not be vague about their past.

Peace and blessings to us all. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2011.

I am off to shaggs. It is 25 years since my Mum- Consolata Aluoch Oswilo died and we will have a commemoration of her at the Othach Catholic Church on 26th Dec 2010 at 10am.
