Kenya: Ruto’s Quiting ODM Threats

From: Mark Kirario

It all exploded with mau eviction late 2009 and Ruto gone on record as apologising on behalf of kalenjin tribe for misleading them in supporting the PM.The entire year of 2010 has been the ‘quit threat’ by Ruto and his henchmen. On 31st December again when everyone was anticipating and psyching for new year again Ruto and cocoons were at it again.

Every episode they claim to be the last time to drill a nail in the coffin or parting ways with PM and ODM. Can Ruto and his bandwagon walk the talk and let Kenyans with peace minds. Or could it be that they fear losing at re-election day cause if you ditch your party that sponsored you to parliament and you sanction a different party the a by-election is envitable.

What Denis Onyango wrote on page 15 of The Standard of 3rd January,2010 is a must read as it is the true reflection of everything that happened in 2007 and is likely to recur next year! Ruto and his cohorts are no longer members of ODM in spirit but are just technically there to avoid any byelections that would ensue were they to officailly declare their defection and that shows that most of them are not sure of their grass roots support! If they are sure that RAO has no support among the ordinary people in RV why do the Mps complain when he goes there to meet the people without involving them?
