Friends,
In our continuing efforts to share with Kenyans and the people of East Africa the need to have a clean neighbourhood, we had a very successful meeting today afternoon with the leaders of Kibera Youth Consortium drawn from the 8 units of Lindi, Makina, Laini Saba, Sarang’ombe, Nairobi West, Karen, Mugumoine and Langata.
The leaders were accompanied by a team of their Council of Elders led by Mzee Ali.
The Kibera Youth Consortium were led by their Chairman Mr. Gordon Chunya and the entire office members.
KCDN Team were led by Odhiambo T Oketch and it included Ms Florence Kanyua, Ms Phyllis Wanjiku, Mr. Dennis Nyakundi, Mr. Hesbon Mariga and Mr. Paul Oyugi. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Merku Jackson Lenkoko from Riverbank Sacco Credit.
KCDN have entered into partnership with several organizations at the grassroots level and we are determined to make a difference on the lives of Kenyans this year. Our maxim remains Moving From Talking to Tasking and we will be encouraging Kenyans to take the first steps in reclaiming Kenya.
We are also in discussions with other partners from the Banking Industry and in our Civic Education Campaigns, we will be encouraging the spirit of Economic Emancipation driven by the Banks and Credit Organizations as a means to addressing the run away poverty that has gripped our people.
In our continued efforts, we want to invite all Kenyans to join us on 22nd January for a massive clean-up across all Kenya. Please organize yourselves in your neighbourhoods and do the necessary.
Let us encourage all to take care of their waste and check how and where they drop all such waste. Many organizations and Institutions will be joining us in this campaign and we are inviting you to also play your part.
A Clean Kenya begins with YOU.
