An award of Doctorate degree to Kalonzo a slap on Kenyans!
I am terribly shocked that there is a misinformed university in our world that can award an honorary doctorate degree to Kalonzo Musyoka and erroneously praise him for “acting with love for fellow Kenyans by accepting to be part of a coalition governmentâ€.
Honorary degrees are normally conferred for distinguished contributions to a specified field or society in general. That leads me to inquire: besides Kalonzo’s involvement in Sudan’s peace negotiation, which was a duty requirement of Kenya’s foreign affairs boss at that time, can the university or Kalonzo himself tell us the successes of his personal peace initiatives? Universities are a mirror of societies; is it true that Kenyans would vote favorably that Kalonzo is a peace-maker?
In a world revolving on uninterrupted information flow, how can the American University award a doctorate of divinity to Kalonzo’s unpatriotic, self serving and opportunistic acts of joining Kibaki’s illegitimate government, crafted after disputed election results?
Is this an attempt at sanitizing Kalonzo or an addition of useless credentials that he will use to haunt Kenyans in quest for president come 2012 general elections? In the politics of honorary degrees, some universities are known to dish out their degrees in exchange for political favors or donations; Kalonzo’s doctorate is suspect and a mockery to Kenyans.

THE WORLD IS AMAZING
The world is amazing but it is more so when things are done contrary to simple logics and hohesty.
I am not surprised that in this world there is a university worth its salt that could award Kalonzo Musyoka an honorary doctrate in theology of all the disciplines after all the Vatican supported Adolph Hitler to the hilt as he was gussing the Jews just as Cardinal Njue and Bishop Mwana W’Ndingi or whatever his name, supported and continue to support GEMA and PNU to this day.
What I am not quite sure of is how this same university will react when the time comes that Kalonzo Musyoka is dragged to the docks of the International Criminal Court at The Hague for crimes against humanity he in liaiason with others committed against humanity prior to and immediately post 27th December 2007 elections.

This world is really amazing. Heroes are forgotten and traitors are rewarded. What an irony?? Maybe money changed hands to make Kalonzo a saint. It was inevitable as the fellow had to redeem himself after shamelesly letting Kenyans down during and after the disgraced elections.
But one thing is clear. However much Kalonzo would like Kenyans to forget his traitor image, that will never happen. Kenyans have already labelled him so and it will remain thus, fake doctorates or not.
It’s true Kalonzo’s reward of Doctor of Laws is in bad taste. How come Raila is not pushing for constitutional review changes he promised? Is Raila scared of Kalonzo or what? Let us move forward now. Kalonzo and Raila needs to debate in a public forumn to see who is smarter. May the coliation work until 2010.
