KENYA: POLITICAL FRAUDULENCE-TIME TO REJECT THE ARCHITECTS!!!!

From: otieno sungu

Kenya is a country full of amazing characters we call leaders. Looking at recent developments from a section of Kenyan MPs, it is easy to discern the hypocrisy and turn coat tendencies of people we call leaders.

The Political Parties Act is very clear on how one should conduct themselves as members of Parliament elected on a party ticket.

Should one find his aspirations, personal ideologies and/or principles not in tandem with the sponsoring party, the most honourable thing to do, from a moral and principled point of view, is to resign and seek fresh mandate from the electorate not only in line with this Act but as a matter of self conviction and deep rooted principles. This is the least such a fellow can do in honour of those who elected them.

However, we have seen a number of politicians, “mortally” divorced from the ideologies of sponsoring parties and yet remain holed up in parties with whom they share literally nothing.

This is not only fraud, it is an abuse of democracy. Political fraud is so rampant in Kenya that today a politician stands up and declares he/she has moved from the sponsoring party without attendant action required of such a move; resignation and seeking fresh mandate through another party whose aspirations and ideology matches his/hers.

These cannot be serious leaders. In the history of Kenya, not more than a handful of leaders have ever resigned when their convictions and those of sponsoring parties are at variance.

The whole hodgepodge that we see running around claiming to be our next saviours are in this category, they are nothing but charlatans, harbingers of doom for Kenya.

We need principled, honest and people of integrity to manage our affairs of state, not these morally depraved type.

This is the message VVM is taking to the grassroots, we must interrogate leadership based on these tenets;truthfulness, forthrightness, principles and integrity.
