Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered why, if both the ODM and the PNU are against deficits, we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a state budget. The president does.

You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. Parliament does.

You and I don’t write the tax code, Parliament does.

You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Parliament does.

You and I don’t control monetary policy, The Central Bank does.

Two hundred and ten elected parliamentarians, 12 nominated parliamentarians and eleven Supreme Court justices and 1 chief justice – 234 human beings out of 34+ million – are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the chief executive officers of state corporations and the Governor and board of the central bank because that problem was created by the parliament. In 1963, the black dominated parliament delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a state chartered but private central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority.

They have no ability to coerce MP’s or a president to do one cotton-picking thing.

I don’t care if they offer a politician Ksh.1 million in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 234 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall.

No normal human being would have the gall of a MP, who stood up and criticized the President for creating dysfunctional or rather bogus election results.

The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the parliament to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of legislative council for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.

Who is the speaker of the House? He is the leader of the majority party. He and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 34+ million cannot replace 234 people who stand convicted — by present facts – of incompetence and irresponsibility.

I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 234 people.

When you fully grasp the plain truth that 234 people exercise the power of the government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red.

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 234 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.

Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like ‘the economy,’ ‘inflation’ or ‘politics’ that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 234 people and they alone, are responsible. They and they alone have the power.

They and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses – provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

This is plain truth. Political leaders are never transparent.Mps
believe that people are ignorant ,and they are the master of
wisedom which not true. The kenya mps are running after money
all the time without thinking of voters’ interests first.Sometimes, most of them do not understand the procedures in the house.Because their assumption as the master of knowledge and wisedom ,most of these mps do not take time to
learn their work through reading and research work.

The mps should spend their time gathering more information about issues to be debated. In fact,we ask our mps to borrow
a leaf from Martin Shikuku and other living ex mps who participated in the parliament of late 50s and early 60s.These
were the real politicians who can be compared with the mps
in the developed countries. The crop of our present mps are just
interested in making money. This is the reason why the executive
has cunningly undercut their power while busy looking for money
from any quater. The majority of the mps are lacking integrity and they are ready to compromise their respect by taking bribery from the executive to vote for unpopular motion which favors executive to become more dictator.

Therefore,i agree with you totally on this case of mps failure to
lead kenyans transparently because of their attitude of i know everything and lust for money.Unless our mps take their work seriously and put personal integrity first, kenya is still going to
be in a mess.Voters are also to share the blame because they
to do not take time to go through the profile of their candidates. In most cases, the run after the candidates with more money .This behaviour of voters makes it possible to make
    a thief a mp.

When the voters have voted in thieves as mps the end result is
a creation of den of thieves as mps who are our leaders. These
money lovers will always look for opportunity of making more money at all cost.In any case,we do not expect thieves to debate for issues which are helpful to ordinary kenyans .It high
time kenyans start demanding accountability from these mps.
Next time, when a election comes, please voters try to check
the integrity of candidates before you cast your votes.
