Re: The blessings that come with misfortune!

No one likes misfortune; at least, I don’t! I don’t think that anyone would like misfortune to come his or her way. No one is even suggesting that misfortune is good for any one.

But, misfortune has its place in our daily lives! Whenever they have occurred, they have turned some people’s lives for better. Here is how!

1.Getting an F grade on a given subject or being placed on academic probation is known to have humbled once very arrogant students!
2.The loosing of a well paying job, or any job for that matter, has in many cases done the trick of placing people in a position whereby they are able to sympathize with others less fortunate!
3. A sudden change of fortunes from plenty of money to almost a beggar, has made others to at least know that life can change!
4.The passing away of a family member, relative, friend, colleague, or neighbor has sometimes made some to say yes to Jesus’ call to accept Him as a personal Savior!
5.Some kind of misfortune has sometimes changed the hearts and attitude of some arrogant people to humble human beings.

How should we then regard misfortunes! I will let the word of God answer that question!

“Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you – – Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed , but let him glorify God in this matter.” (1 Peter 4:12, 16.)

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28.)

So next time misfortune come our way, let us try to put some positive spin into it! Shall we!

Just a thought
