KCDN: FPE-community support initiative!

Dear Good people,

It is my pleasure to introduce you to a noble Christmas season charity activity whose effect will last long past the Christmas season and that gives you the opportunity to put a smile on the faces of school children from poor households in Nairobi’s Eastlands by a gift of school text book(s).

With the introduction of free primary education (FPE) in Kenya, many children from poor families who were headed for the jails of illiteracy are now joyful struggling to learn how to read and write. FPE is keeping the children’s dream of becoming a president, a doctor, a pilot, a teacher, an engineer among others. However, these children’s joy is often disrupted because their parents cannot afford to buy school text books and writing materials; and the situation is worse for orphaned children.

Several non-government community based initiatives are grappling with the challenges of lack of school text books and writing materials to ensure that “no child is left behind” in the FPE. Komarock Community Development Network (KCDN) is one such “FPE-Community Support Initiative” working in the Eastlands of Nairobi City.
The initiative is currently working with an average of 250 school children who are in great need of support. We invite you to donate old or new text books from the list given below. You will find a copy of email pasted (and highlighted) below for more information.

FYI: KCDN is a community based member organization of Bunge la Mwananchi social movement. KCDN is a sterling example of community initiatives for building sustainable future communities. For more information on how you can be involved ( where to send your gift, how to MPESA, how to send money with WESTERN MONEY Transfer or which bank to wire your donation) please use these contacts:

Dear Friends,

I really want to extend my appreciation, on behalf of The Network [KCDN], for the positiveness that you have shown towards supporting the 250 children in this Initiative.

We have an ambitious programme, but we do believe that together, we can make it happen. This is why I want to appeal to each one of us to invite 2 more friends to join us in this effort.

That contribution that we will make, will help a needy child to have some uniform, some books, some shoes and have stationery. That contribution that you will make will bring light to the face of that child.

That contribution you make will empower our drive at The Network to be of more help to the needy cases.

As we thank the following people, let us have this list of friends grow by each one of us inviting a friend to this initiative;
