Congratulations to the people of Zambia for electing Mr Rupia Banda as their new President in an election that went rather smoothly.

It is gratifying to note that Mr Michael Sata was leading until VP Kalonzo Musyoka arrived as head of the Kenyan delegation to witness the swearing in ceremony that was to follow after the results were declared.

To the people of Zambia, you have made Africa proud.
