Odus,

In as as much as we may be facing the biting effects of the financial crisis, like many of you i really feel touched by Ndege’s plight and i wholly concur with you that a self sustaining project would be ideal in this case. This would require commitment and involvement, our normal harambee spirit.

In addition to the names already mentioned, i would also encourage a closer involvement of Mr Odhiambo Oketch. Although i don’t know OTO in person, i have closely followed the community activities he is involved in and i believe he is well organized and beyond reproach. We can tap on his experience to successfully meet our objectives.

OTO, i hope you will accept to wear another hat if called upon on this matter.

Nyithi Ramogi

‘Kithini kod chapni’ kaka Juirus nene owachono ema omiyo andiko kendo.

We all seem to be have been touched by Mr.Ndege’s tragic story. For sustainability, I suggest, if we can have 2 reliable people on the ground (Kenya) who are willing to volunteer to pay a visit to Ndege and encourage him to gain, say, some basic business skills to start a small shop or farming which will support him longterm. We then set ‘Ndege fund’, make donations to that fund as he gains these skills. The 2 coordinates the fund as we make our donations say for 6 months or so. The 2 could be Bwana Patrick Obiero and Dave Ndolo or any other person willing to service (advance apologies to Patrick and Dave for having not asked for permission before proposing them).

If we are serious about strategic change in Luoland, I believe this is the way to go, in our own little way. The multiplying effect could be unbelievable within a very short time span. Our people will not change or develop is they are not empowered. As we, say, show a man how to fish rather than serve him fish now and again.

I trust we will not bring politics here. Forget about our MPs please and the blame game. I also trust, we will act with a clear consciouse and NOT opt-out now or be passive on this matter because contributions/donations has been mentioned.

Thank you

Odus

Joluo,

I am with the guys who are ready to give something to Mr. Ndege and let us be co-ordinated and get the contact and help this poor luo man. On top of this we as the highlighted ones should also see into WHO POCKETED HIS MONEY?. The government, president the prime minister and his area MP can not be all that blind on a case like this one. There was money given by even foreign governments for people like Ndege, let somebody go deep and see how these politicians operate?. Just as K Onyiego has said, we follow our words with action and it is only through that the luo community can move forward. So we help Ndege first but whoever swindled his money should be exposed to make him not swindle again the CDF money for that constituency. Do not forget that not only one luo man Ndege was affected from Naivasha or from Nyeri etc. We do know Ndege because we have kept his family pictures in our heart and in our hard dics backed with backups etc. So joluo let us prove we can help, even if it is something small, let us do it, but con-men who took money which is supposed to be for Ndege should be known to the whole world or to all luos to prevent them from doing it in future.

Jokanyanam,

jomoko kuomwa went a step ahead and contributed something little when Ndege still did not even have a hut to live in. He was living in a structure made of “Juelni.” Those of us who Changaad the money never waited for our MPs. Yes! We, then appointed a representative who travelled from Nairobi and personally handed that money to ndege. His wish at that time was to have himself shelter. Well, the money was given to him and I bet he used it wisely cause now I can see he already has shelter and even a wife and a blessing of a child.

In short what I am saying is that many of us tend to think that our MPs are going to come in handy, but experience tells the opposite. If many of us can continue this kujitolea and moving into action then, many many Luo problems will be solved without waiting for the Mikoras in the name of politicians. Dont get me wrong, I dont mean that all of them are bad, but the creed that we have in the “Legico” (Parliament) seems to have very good formulas to stay away from solving problems. They only appear if they know that whatever is being done will give them publicity through the media so that they appear as the Bwana Kubwas and not the opposite, and that is to serve the electorate. If we are gonna wait for this, people, then we are in for a loooong wait.

I wholy agree with Odus, Opondi, and Awuonda here. The medicine, is to get into action without thinking about the MPS. Only that way will we change Luoland.
