I was listening to the BBC over the weekend and heard a program reviewing the role of George W. Bush over the last 8 years. It seems to my mind there is a whitewash going on, they talk about how tough his period of tenure was, how he is a charming, respected by the European political establishment. I say HELL NO!

Let us not forget the litany of complaints we have against ‘Dubya’, not now, not ever:

Ø He stole the election. Got his own brother to rig him in and claimed that is was fair;

Ø He manufactured a war and invaded a country under the pretext of ‘weapons of mass destruction’ and caused to be killed countless Iraqi nationals;

Ø He refused point blank to allow US troops to be subject to the ICC and international conventions that infringed on the US’s god given right to kick ass anywhere, anyhow;

Ø Extended the same immunity to support staff of the US military when they were under ‘no’ I repeat ‘NO’ judicial oversight in Iraq (note not one single successful prosecution of any US misconduct in Iraq (Abu ?? prison excepted);

Ø He arrested and detained people at GitMo against all international conventions and illegal even under US Law;

Ø Using Homeland Security invaded the privacy of Americans at will and I hate to think what he did to the privacy of non-american individuals;

Ø He permitted torture as a method of extracting information from the detainees;

Ø He set up a puppet regime in Afghanistan so he could give his oil buddies a pipeline and mega profits;

Ø He failed to find Osama;

His only claim to competence is that another 9/11 did not happen under his watch yet he actually was asleep at the wheel and allowed it to happen in the first place.

I do not harbour animosity towards the ex-president (well a little), I just do not like the ‘rehabilitation’ of GW Bush and pretending that he was not the monstrous F*** U* that we endured for the last 8 years.
