OPEN LETTER TO HON. RAILA ODINGA AND ODM

ATTN: Hon. Raila Odinga,

First I must admit that after a log time I couldn’t hold back a tear. A tear for my Kenya sisters and brothers o the collapse of the Koffi  Annan led peace mediation and settlement.

I write to you this with an open heart and conscience at this crucial moment in our country’s history. Being a staunch supporter of ODM and as a youth, I choose to send you this letter as a patriotic and innocent Kenya.

I strongly believe that I also represent the feeling of majority ad like-minded Kenyans who year to have real PEACE and UNITY. We shall  never give up o our country, Kenya. I certainly believe that majority  of Kenyans heartily take you as their preferred Prime Minister and President due to the fact that all our hopes are on you.

As a youth among many others, I see no future without your personal  sacrifice for the sake of our motherland, Kenya. As I continue to miss the company of my longtime neighbors and the same breath that we all  shared, I take you to be the only savior that Kenya yearns to have now than ever before. Hard-liners and spoilers would always be amongst us. For your party ODM, the most important hope and guarantee to the  political and constitutional normalcy against your opponents, as  Kenyans, lies with you ad your team engaging PNU/ODM-K with reason and  national tact in Parliament for the sake of amending and putting the wrong constitutional and political structures into place and order for the coming general elections (2012) and the future, that is all ours.

Recently, you challenged (Hon.Kalonzo Musyoka) and all of us who got abreast of your detail on how Judas betrayed Jesus.

Would you, Hon. Raila Odinga as chair of ODM and for the sake of the innocent children, voters that religiously voted for you and those who  also never did vote for your party, strongly brave the ‘Jesus-like’ persecutions that you are politically and constitutionally facing together with other Kenyans?

Shouldn’t the Koffi Annan-led mediation process be an impacting historical lesson for Kenyan than to have it leave a dirty stain and scare on our soil?

Did the talks collapse when politicians chose the wrong means, mode and maneuver to solve the post-election crisis? Did our leaders use legal  means to manipulatively settle a political issue or was the matter an electoral one to be settled constitutionally and vice versa? Or was it  pre-meditated to collapse and make things difficult for Kenya by a few?

Hon. Raila, kindly permit me, on behalf of like minded Kenyans to break  into this political pre-occupation that would, if not clinically  observed, break Kenya into pieces.

Are we as political carpenters transforming our country to nothingness?

Sir, world over, it is perceived that trees have more significance than fallen ones or logs.

From leaves that help purify air to the beauty and color of leaves and  flowers to providing homes to birds our political society has chosen to cut us down only to lose the being and beauty of being Kenyan. The crisis is likely to ‘convert’ more trees for coffins than transforms them into tables, cooking sticks, beds for our mundane use.

Ordinary wananchi and politicians, like trees have become victims of  oppressive mechanical forces from the opposing side. From politics that  make or break to tribal set-ups that rule and dismantle ethnic beauties  and families, I’m then forced to break into the residence of you immediate person, as Hon. Raila Odinga.

We all understand the  challenging tasks that you have indeed gone through. But my only wish is that you remain in our minds and hearts for a longer time to come as  the savior of this political crisis.

Out in the streets I find no spices of life during mass civil disobedience and the seasoning of our already anxious and weak bodies with more teargas and bullets  riddling us without fault. Our unsettled and disturbed lives off our homes in refugee centers remains our challenge though the principle ethics for ODM lies with taking care of the poor, less privileged and marginalised societies by a few selfish individuals.

I have a strong conviction that you would choose to be the gateway to our PEACE, LOVE AND UNITY and live together as Kenyans for you understand we your  ardent supporters and voters better. Kindly and urgently help bring out the brighter side of Kenya to the world through self-sacrifice.

Without entering the residence of PNU’s/ODM-K’s bundle of political, constitutional slander and selfish legal contradictions I what Dr. Koffi Annan and his team yearned Kenya to go through for the sake of our unity. And that is ‘sacrificial political diplomacy’ instead of backtracking around the inverse circles of manipulative engagements that take us aback.

Personally, I shall forgive but not forget the already dismantled collateral singularity brought forth by PNU and its affiliate parties. I also choose not to reverse the intention of my hope that I have for you, Hon. Raila for a better  Kenya. May be PNU added color to our electoral process but they were unable to bring I flavor and taste of our already developing democracy. Their choice of electoral transmission proved faulty I the eyes of the world.

In fact PNU, the Electoral Commission of Kenya (ECK), the AG and Judiciary reduced our already established Constitution as guiding laws to a ‘catalogue of negotiating for elite political and ill  gotten power’. A political prescription that serves a few and that which would taste the challenges of time and the world.

Hon. Raila, I urge you on behalf of Kenyans to refuse to take the ‘dirty’  political crisis as dosage for political supremacy. This would only worsen the ‘ political, electoral, constitutional and legal, cough that we all have contracted from our opponents.

On our soul you still remain what we yearned to have for Kenya-our President. May the good Lord guide you as you contemplate about the innocent children, suffering mothers, the youth ad the entire nation.

Our hearts are bleeding.

Certainly, when I think about this experience;-I see a political ‘Jesus’ in you.

Sincere Regards,
Mundia Mundia Jnr.

    Mundia Mundia,

I have read all those words you have written but I still do not understand what do you want RAILA to do? What is your theme? DO NOT TELL US THAT YOU WANT RAILA TO BACK DOWN FOR A PETTY PEACE? IF THE ODM BACKDOWN NOW KENYA WILL BE LIKE Somalia, or IRAQ. IF WE KENYANS REALLY WANT PEACE THEN IT IS KIBAKI AND A FEW HIS 43 MPs who should back down and accept an exacutive prime minister post, that is what is called power sharing if that is what you mean, then you should have addressed this letter to KIBAKI not Raila.

Why DIDN`t you write the same letter to Kibaki or what are you afraid of? How are you going to re- settle those evicted Kikuyus back into the rift valley? Or you want to give Kibaki a free 5 years more to kill kalenjins or to force them to accept the kikuyus back there? I hope you are talking about real peace and a lasting one NOT the peace which is Kibaki is going to hold by guns, my man that is NOT PEACE IF YOU DO NOT KNOW. without power sharing there is no way Kibaki is going to rule Nyanza, western, rift valley or even coast unless he is going to use guns on everybody, that is just like telling Raila to backdown and leave Kibaki kill our people and all the ODM supporters, people like that are called TRAITORS and mark me well: what Kibaki has done now the kikuyus will do it again in 2012 and in a big way so the only alternative is to make the ODM majority states to split from this dictator if they do not want to share power. Let kibaki rule central Kenya with kalonzo. Do you really read the problem now in ODM-Kenya with kalonzo?

This is ridiculous, apparently that a section of Kenyans still don’t believe (accept?) things have changed already in this country! Many things will never be the same again! Even to the players, the politik game changed tact, speed, spiralling to uncertain cessation! Objectively, this year will continue be difficult for Kenyans, both rich and poor! Till the anointed leadership! Thanks to the Orange initiative!

I WONDER WHY MUNDIA IS ADDRESSING HIS LETTER WHICH DOES HAVE A CLEAR THEME TO RAILA YET HE KNOWS QUITE WELL THAT KIBAKI AND HIS KITCHEN CABINET HAVE BEEN TRYING ALL ALONG TO KILL THE MEDIATATION PROCESS.THERE IS NOWAY RAILA SHOULD RUN AWAY FROM THE DEMAND FOR JUSTICE FOR ALL KENYANS.FOR HOW LONG AS OTHER KENYANS
SACRIFY THE TME AND RESOURCES TO MAKE KENYA BE ONE.ALWAYS AFTER SUCH SACRIFY THE END RESULT IS ABUSE,DEATH AND OTHER INJUSTICE FROM SOME KIKUYUS. LET US TAKE THE CASE OF JARAMOGI,TOM MBOYA,AMBROSE OFAFA,ARGWENGS KOTHEK,RONALD NGALA,OUKO,ETC.ALL THESE LEADERS SACRIFIED THE POSITIONS TO MAKE KENYA BE FOR EVERYBODY BUT THE END RESULTS THE VERY PEOPLE
WHOM THEY WERE HELPING MADE SURE THAT THEY BECAME PAST TENSE.
ITIS JUST THE YEAR 2002 WHEN RAILA HELPED KIBAKI TO BECOME THE PRESIDENT OF KENYA AND WITHIN ONE MONTH SOME KIKUYUS STARTED FIGHTING HIM WITHOUT ANY THANK. THIS IS THE SAME WAY KENYATTA TREATED THOSE WHO HELPED HIM TO BE THE PRESIDENT OF KENYA. LET KENYA COME OUT OF THESE PROBLEM BY SEE KIBAKI ACCEPTING TO STAND DOWN FOR RAILA. IT IS RAILA WHO WON THE ELECTION.

    Mundia Mundia Jnr,

You should write to Kibaki and put in plain words your frustration. You appear disrespectful and mischievous and you are not honest at all! Please note that there are wise people out there who know the truth and that truth will prevail. Don’t be cheated! Be very straight and precise, it doesn’t take one to read more than two sentences to detect your cheekiness.

    Admin (whoever you are),

I was almost tempted to hit at Mundia Mundia Jr. harder than you but was restrained. In fact if you had some background of some of his escapades, (Bwana Mundia, who was your last employer?) you might have dismissed him outright. However, there is something he is talking about whether we like it or not.

One factor is that any sane Kenya can see that we may be dealing with some psychopaths on the PNU side. It is up to Hon. Raila to realise this and give us a direction on how Kenyans can deal with it (those who are at home, “Admin” I suspect that you are in diaspora and may not be feeling the “heat” directly.

My personal take is that under any circumstances Hon. Raila should never accept the issue of power sharing! That to me is legitimising fraud. There are only two options in my view.

ONE:- Make H.E. Koffi Annan and the the Western World happy, by deciding to take the whole ODM on the Opposition side provided that: It is clear in the “MOU” that will be publicily signed that the current constitution is overhauled and Power delvolved (NOT SHARED WITH A PRIME MINISTER), to the regions as stipulated and may be amended appropriately in the Bomas draft. This should include the independence and professionalism of the civil service, Judiciary and Legislature.

TWO: Refuse to accept any of the above and insist on a re-run of elections with whatever consequences of the aftermath. Hon. Raila and his team, if they choose the second option should be ready to take part of the responsibility on the aftermath (remember, anybody can see that we are dealing with some psychopaths who I believe now than any other time that they really don’t care of the aftermath).

Lastly fellow Kenyans, what sacrifice are you and me ready to take (realistically) whatever decision is taken?

I leave Kenya in hands of the Almighty God!

    Tewere.

Amazing, My friend wake up, what is it you want Raila to do, dont you see the country is heading to dogs. Sorry my friend it’s time for change brother.

I wonder if Mundia Mundia Jnr is still a youth. His reasoning belongs to those who support status quo. What the youth wants now is justice and peace will be the resultant. There will no be peace without justice. Period. The problem in Kenya currently is Kibaki and the imperial presidency. By proposing genuine power sharing arrangement whereby Kenya have the head of the state and head of the government, ODM wants peace return to Kenya at the same time giving Kibaki a soft landing after the December 2007 election trounce. If you have been following the Dr. Annan talks then it is wrong for you to say that ODM is tracking backwards.

INFACT THE LETTER IS BASELESS I DON’T SEE WHY THE LETTER SHOULD BE ADRESSED TO RAILA OR ODM BUT INSTEAD THE PERSON MEAN THE OPOSITE BECAUSE FROM THE LOOK OF THINGS OR WHHEN YOU REASON LOGICALLY THE PROBLEM LIES WITH THE GOVERNMENT SIDE.THIS CAN BE BASED ON THE BEHAVOURS OF THE MEDIATION PRESENTORS LIKE MS MATHA KARUA WHO THINK THAT THEY SHOULD JUST BUY TIME FOR KENYANS BUT BY THE END OF THE DAY THEY NULLIFIED ALL THAT HAS BEEN AGREED ON ,IT IS AS IF OTHERS THAT ARE SITTING THERE ARE JUST PASSING TIME. SO THE LETTER TO ME SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADRRESSED TO THE PNU SIDE BECAUSE ODM SIDE DECIDED TO DEVOTE THEMSEVES FOR THE TALK TO SAVE WANANCHI AS A WHOLE CONSIERDERING THAT THEY WON ELECTION AND THEY WERE TO BE SWONED IN AS THE RULING PARTY.OTHERWISE THIS MATTER IS NOT FOR RAILA ODINGA OR ODM AS A PARTY BUT ALL THE DECISION TO BE MADE BY BOTH THE LEADERS SHOULD BE ONE THAT DONOT UNDERMINE THE PEOPLES’DEMOCRATIC RIGHTS SO WE SHOULD GIVE THE LEADERS TIME TO MAKE THEIR DECISIONS BECAUSE WE AS KENYANS WE ARE NOT READY TO BE BETRAYED OR TO BE COLONISED FOR THE SECOND TIME.LAST BUT NOT LEAST I WOULD LIKE TO ADVICE SOME OF LEADERS TO WATCH OUT ON WHATEVER IS COMING OUT FROM THEIR LIPS

Well spoken comrades.Infact when I read Mundia`s statements above, I thought he was mocking the presidency of Raila Odinga directly or indirectly and I seriously felt that he is the type of a guy that needs some kind of surgery in the mouth that normaly comes as a result of people loosing their temper for unknown reasons.I urge this kind of lowless, beneath surface creature to keep his thoughts to himself since they are not worth national security response.

I have longed for Western Kenya to be autonomous for 3 decades and God is finally answering my prayers.Let us divide Kenya into two with ODM controlling the rest of Kenya and PNU Central and Eastern.Nairobi can be plit like the Berlin Wall.

Raila can save Kenya by refusing to divide with this thief the goverment into two.But if he is to give in to the international community, then the thief remains the head of stealing (State)and Raila (Pentagon)governs Kenya (Goverment). Both should either be co-president or Kibaki takes powerful PM. and share power with powerful president Raila. All Kenyans wanted was Raila to be the peoples president and all that Raila wanted was to give Kenyans a change they can believe in.This is a dream that never dies.

whats good to you… war, guns ,hunger graves or peace. to me i will go for latter. Nyayo ruled a whole deal of my life and iam still surviving life was miserable and iam still miserable. please preach peace and praise GOD the ALMIGHTY CREATER OF HEAVEN AND EARTH FOR PEACE. war wont make a difference. it will leave you and me worse than these two idiots namely Raila and Kibaki our assumed gods or Devils whatever the hell you want to call them,

  11. Mundia Mundia Jnr

You all missed the point though I never become dirty for the sake of being defensive…The ‘Theme’ only touched on the idea of either us having ‘mass action/civil disorder or not’…and not giving up on JUSTICE. I DO STILL RESPECT YOU SENTIMENTS FOR YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO AIR YOUR VIEWS.CHEERS? IS THE MASS ACTION STILL ON??????

  12. Greg Owuoth

    Mundia jnr
You missed the point, but let me thank you for your initiative and remind you.How did multi party get in Kenya.
You might be a sympathiser of Mr Kibaki, tell him to accept the creation of Prime minister and not him to create this is the problem.

So What next for the Luo’s in Kisumu.

1.They burnt buildings and businesses and as a result they ended up losing up to 5,000 jobs. According to the Kisumu Chamber of Commerce it may take upto 15 years to get back to the level they were at prior to the riots. They even burnt BIDCO factory which was a large source of employment. Some of the one’s that left places like Thika, Naivasha and Limuru and went back home are being chased away by their relatives because there is not enough land to go around. They cannot go back to some of the places they fled from because their former employers may not be willing to take them back. Remember these are private enterprises so you cannot force them to employ these people.

2.People with commercial vehicles are still wary about taking their vehicles to Kisumu. As a result basic stuff like milk, bread and vegetables are hard to come by in Kisumu. They have to travel to Kisii to look for food. The matatu’s that were being operated by non Luo’s are no longer plying the route and they are the majority. In addition they burnt petrol stations and the cost of fuel is higher. How will they cope with the high cost of transportation?

3.As soon as the deal between President Kibaki and Raila is finalised the politicians will disappear to their usual hideouts and watering holes so the handouts will disappear. It will be hard to see these politicians once it is back to business as usual. Even Anyang Nyongo who was calling for another round of demonstrations will not be heard.

4.In some areas students did not go back to school because of the riots. The exams will be done at the same time at the end of the year so these guys will have to play catch up.

5.They burnt the vehicles of the Water board. This may have an impact on the quality of water that will be available for drinking. If the water is contaminated there may be an outbreak of diseases. Cholera and Dysentery come into mind. Remember how cholera used to wreck havoc in that area in the past?

Thanks for your great comment and I do appreciate a dime a dozen for each and every comment send on this topic I’m certain that we would all be able to interact more than ever before for the sake of amending the loopholes that ‘we helped’ create before and after the elections.
