Nd. Omwenga,

You’ll never seize to amaze! Even when you’ve gone to great lengths to craft what is clearly the talked about Shakespearean “story full of sound and fury signifying nothing”, you still make it even worse by slotting in something that gives ignorance a very bad name!!!

If i were Hon B. Kones, i would simply treat your threatened “email” with the contempt it clearly deserves! What do you mean or, if possible, understand by “lead”?! To insist that one must only “lead” from the “front” is to live decades before the advent of Napoleon Bonaparte and Senior Chief Nyandusi! You have never heard of top decorated Generals fighting successful wars from bunkers?! That’s unfortunate, at this time and age, when even from where you sojourn, a black President is sending drones to destroy his late father’s continent!!!

Raila is now the false prophet Baal and Ruto is the true prophet Elijah.

So far, I have seen or heard Raila referred to as the “Devil,” “Satan himself,” a “god,” an “idol,” and a “dangerous” man by those who hate the man or at least don’t care about him as a person or politician for whatever reasons.

I wonder if there is anything worse left to compare Raila to but I suppose I would not be surprised if someone came up with worse.

Simply amazing.

On the story itself, two quotes of note:

*”According to them [people interviewed for the story], he [Raila] should have fought against the inclusion of Mr Ruto in the Ocampo Six alongside Tinderet MP Henry Kosgey and Kass radio presenter Joshua Sang from ODM.”*

This is the level of ignorance among a few and misinformation out there. Raila had nothing to do with who was named as suspects most responsible for PEV and neither did he have the power nor ability to stop or exclude any of those named.

The suspects were identified and named by the Waki Commission, which no one including the suspects themselves ever questioned its conduct of the investigations.

The good news about this is, at least half of Bomet has not bought this lie that Raila had something to do with the Ocampo Six being named and is informed enough to know he could not have done anything to stop the Six from going to the Hague or being tried for that matter.

Raila must find a way to inform and educate the rest, even though I doubt he’ll succeed as it appears these are the kinds who have buried their head and ears in the sand and want to hear nothing contrary to what lies they have been told and believe.

He should try, nonetheless for that’s what a leader does: keep on drumming the message notwithstanding any odds.

The other quote which is quite revealing, is this:

“The case pending against Mr Ruto at The Hague makes little difference to the level of his support.”

Not surprised there at all.

But the next quote is very interesting and equally revealing of what Raila faces with some voters in RV who to them, Ruto is the man and will stick with him no matter what: “*We do not care about the case, Ruto will fight for presidency whether in jail or not,” said Coun John Kalya, chairman of Bomet county council*.”

I doubt Mr. Kalya will be joining forces with Raila no matter what Raila does to win him and like minded over Raila might as well count people like this out of his equation and count his blessings in the support he has from the likes of Hon. Kones and Hon. Loboso, even though I not with interest what Loboso is quoted as saying, thus, “*I am still in ODM, but the Ruto factor here is big. I will wait and listen to my people when the time comes*,” said Mrs Kones.

I like Hon. Beatrice Kones very much and consider her a sister but she may be confused here about her role; her role as a leader is to lead, not to follow.

She does not need to “wait and listen to her people;” she needs to take a position and lead her people there.

She already has on the “Ruto factor,” now she needs to lead her people there.

That’s what leaders do and I am confident she’ll do just that.

I am firing an email to her urging her to do just that.

Peace, Love and Unity

Omwenga
