Kenya: ODM warns of Tuju’s suspected moles in the party and in some parts of Southrn Nyanza

Writes Leo Odera Omolo.

There are a number of political turn-coats working with those politician hell bent on derailing Raila Odinga’s presidential ambition comes 2012.

“These saboteurs usually drives back to their rural constituencies while masquerading as potential aspirants eyeing several parliamentary seats in the impending general elections. Some of them, however, have turned out to be agent and political surrogates of the former Cabinet minister and one time Rarieda MP Raphael Tuju”,said a party leader in Homa-Bay.

As much as we would welcome everybody seeking for any elective position ether in the County, Parliament, Senate and even County representatives, we shall ensure that political turn-coats or anyone working in cohort with politicians who are on record of having been classified as hostile to ODM and its leadership are locked out.

Rumor making round have pointed out an accusing finger to four well known politicians as hose allegedly working in cohort with Tuju. Featuring prominently are the names of one George Ogalo Oner who is working with the Kenya Rd Cross in Nairobi. The man of late is said to be very liquid and sending extravagantly some colossal amount of money not less than Kshs two million in every two weeks.

Another name the ODM leader have mirrored on is that of Jack Nduri, the party’s Karachuonyo branch chairman, and one Everest Okambo, who is a businessman in Narok. Okambo is reported to be eyeing Rangwe seat and so is Ogalo Ner. Nduri is eyeing the Karchuonyo seat currently held by the incumbent Eng James Rege.

Another name mentioned as part of the larger group of Tuju’s moles in ODM is one Tom Were a businessman in Nyatike, who is also eyeing for Nyatike seat currently held by h abrasive youthful Edick Omondi Anyanga.

When Raphael Tuju declared his presidential candidature he did not mention any specific political party as his host. But a rumor making the round inside Luo-Nyanza is that the former Foreign Affairs Minister has established a formidable network, which is capable of smashing the invisibility of the ODM.

The party spokesman in Homa-Bay revealed hat ODM is closely watching the movement of a number of its own party officials suspected to be working with either Tuju or the Eldoret North MP William Ruto and would soon expose their names for the public to scrutinize.

We have put in place a team of intelligent people who are conducting surveillance on the activities of our member and leaders suspected to be applying double standards, and whose loyalty.

“We are also trying to trace up the source of funds, which has made some people who several months ago could not even afford a cup of tea have all of sudden become millionaires over night.

Meanwhile the ODM Coordinator of Youth Hilary Ocheng’ Alila who returned home last week after being away for close to one month has told ODM members and leader in the greater Ends

Southern Nyanza to volunteer into conducting civic education among the rural folk and urged those who have yet to register as voters to do so.

He said although our people loved our party chairman Raila Oding, but the only weapon we could use to fight for him and elevate him to State House is to ensure he is elected the next President of the Republic of Kenya is by way of urging our people to register as voters I n their respective constituencies.

Alila strongly denounced the G7alliance as a bunch of politician thriving on malice. Some of them have run bankrupt of idea and are only waiting for the Prime Minister Raila Odinga to say something then the sycophantically get the agenda to issue rejoinders.”These people have nothing to offer to the public about the future of this country and its people. Their main occupation is use Raila’s name whenever they opened their big mouths,”he said.

    Dear Leo Odera,

I am sure you do not know me, you have never seen me, you have never heard of me before, I have never talked to you, you do not know where I come from, My parents, my family or anything I own or do not own, my life before writing this article or after writing this article. The only thing you have heard is my name and what you call a rumour mill about it!

Now let me tell you. I also do not know you and can not purpot to corroborate, initiate, repudiate or analyse any rumours, propaganda or allegations about the person of you, your character, your associations, your wealth, your expenditure, savings, political persuassion or any other matter related to you whatsoever.

I am not a public person and I have never sought to be public and I guess not very many people who know my name would easily associate it with my face. As private as I am, I have all through my life since leaving university in 2001 stayed very close to my community in our social projects like building of schools and churches, paying school fees to our needy children and assisting the less fortunate in our community in terms of housing and other necessities. This I have done in conjunction with our village leaders, fellow income earning community members, village elites and the general memberships of our communities. I have never personally led these efforts but I have always been the silent supporter of these causes without seeking any publicity from them whatsoever.

Next time you are invited to propagate a rumour about me, kindly get in touch with me to corroborate or if you find it very difficult to face me with your rumours, ask my District Commissioner, My District Officer or the chief of my location being of Homabay District, Rangwe Division and Kagan West Location respectively. They are best placed to tell you about me because they see or hear of or support me and my initiatives in that part of the country.

Till now, I have never at any forum sought any political leadership, notwithstanding the fact that it is my democratic right to do so. I for sure have expanded my scope of concern from my wider Kagan clan to include the others that would together with Kagan consititute Rangwe Constituency. This I have done with the strategic mind that should I decide to run as I have been asked severally by my Kagan people, I will have the same name recognition and psychological closeness with the entire constituency. Clearly this does not precude my right to at my own time decide to run or not.

We have candidates who have already declared they are running and I think your article would be better served focusing on them and what they intend to offer Rangwe instead of directing this unnecessary vitriol against me.

On ODM, you can confirm from my compatriots from the University of Nairobi Class of 2001 where stand, have stood, and will continue to stand. I read your article with the pity I reserve for many people around this town who have arrogated themselves the ownership and protection of the Prime Minister. Ask Hon. Ogindo my Member of parliament or Eng. Okundi, my friend and fellow constituent, Cyprian Awiti Aspiring Governor if any of them being ODM public faces from my county and who know me if they doubt my ODM Credentials. I am a registered ODM Member from Kagan West. My Chairman is Onguka Yala, ask him if I am a member. The ODM Location Chairmen in Rangwe I work with are George Oloo, Gem Central, Maurice Kawino Gem West, Nwani of Gem East, Auma of Kagan East, Aringo of Gongo Location, Barack Omolo of Kochia Central and my own chairman Onguka Yala of Kagan West.

Raphael Tuju has never heard of my name, is unlikely to hear of my name especially if I do not run, has never spoken to me, has never seen me, is unlikely to see me, I do not intend to meet him, I do not support his candidature, he does not even expect that I might be interested in supporting him and in deed he has his people who do not include me, and so any attempt to politically link me with Tuju is distasteful, arrogant, malicious and I have to advise should never happen again and must be unequivocably retracted. This notwithstanding, the old KANU mentality of persecutiion on basis of association is outdated, demented and undemocratic. Tuju is a kenyan and if I were to happen to be his friend, it would be my right and would not necessarily dicatate my political persuassion.

I have no 2 million to spend weekly on politics, I do not intend to spend such money even if I had it which I do not, I do not pray to God to give me that money for that purpose and even if He gave me, I would not use it for that purpose, but on my bulging and clearly needing new capital…..Real Estate Interests.

    Thank you.

I wrote my comment regarding the falsehood being peddled against me by Leo Odera Omolo on this site but it appears you are part and parcel of the syndicate out to rely on cheap, wrong, untrue, libelous and ill-intentioned publications against honourable members of this society. I urge you to post an early applogy and correction.Leo Odera lied on my political standing and reputation.!

  3. George Oner

@jack Nduri, I wrote my piece to defend myself from Odera’s falsehoods against me and did not in any way become part and parcel of any syndicate. Read my rebuttal!

All political aspirants from Luoland must be allowed to think outside the box without the demagoguery and dictatorial tendencies imposed by the Prime Minister, his friends and his flunkies who are carefully handpicked from every constituency in Luoland .
In 2007, the Prime Minister was given a huge political capital from majority of Kenyan tribes to work with. Instead of wisely using this capital handed to him and ODM, the PM systematically allowed himself to be used as a ping ball by PNU and its foreign backers. He turned against the ODM like a lone “wolf on a flock of sheep” and tore every supporter to pieces. The PM, single-handedly, turned against his own colleague and dismantled the 2007 ODM, making it the “LUOs only” party!
The PM has now focused his attention to the Luo Community. This is the only region where no one dares to challenge him and his dictatorial rants at every funeral he attends! This misplaced attention to the Luos disregards the lack of security and economic opportunities facing everybody in this area. Every Luo, whether close to the PM or not, is surrounded by his intimidating supporters.
An old woman with a goat is not guaranteed that she will wake up in the morning without being attacked and the goat taken by force. Old women are being attacked/raped in Luoland. Travels between Kisumu and any part of Luoland are very dangerous at all time because of these unstoppable thugs.
Raila must stop his dictating tactics against independent thinking Luo youths. These youths must be allowed to talk to one another in order to device methods of protecting our people in Nyanza so that security and development can be realized in Nyanza. The PM must not assume he and the people he picks are the only the only Luos with brains; there are others! This authoritarian regime, which started in 1963, must come to an end if progress and development are expected in Luoland!

I would like to take issue and exception of akech’s article.First, his point of view is myopic ,short sighted, dwarfish and of no value whatsoever to any objective reader.secondly he is not well conversant with the political terain of Luo Nyanza.Third the arguments he is raising in his article leave every reader without adoubt to deduce that he ofcourse is not luo and is Tujus personal perpet to play with. The realityl is no one in most parts of Luo Nyanza/western province, half of the rift Valley ,coast province ,meru, central,North Eastern, Eastern, and central apart form Nyeri town ,know Rafael tuju and /or care about him.Luos must unite for others to to unite behind Raila. The likes of Akech are out to divide the Luos and cause mayhem so that all ODM suppoters can scatter helter skelter.I can only ask Akech to have alook at government statistics and he will realise that Luo Nyanza has benefited more from Raila than it would have from any other, would be or will be or would hae been alternative leader .

    Be more objective.

  6. Jamumbo Maurice Aguko Mayora

I had and still have a lot of respect to Leo Odera Omollo. But the article in question left a lot to desire about this guru.Sure if you dont know a person why give him a coverage either negative or positive without contacting him/her or if he is not picking the phone like most of our rich brothers do you may contact his next of kin.

Kindly Let us not engage in a character assassination in this site jodalawa we have a long way to go as the people of this beautiful county. We sure need one another be it Jack Nduri, Ogalo Oner,Everest Okambo,Tom Were and eve Leo himself for the benefit of this beautiful society.

I say this with a humble heart knowing very well that one day fate will surely bound us together in the building of the political dispensation to developG this community we call our own in a manner that we and posterity will for long time be unable to disregard.GOD BLESS YOU ALL DEAR COUNTY LADIES AND GENTLEMEN- Thanks

    Well,
Good staff, modest and fine with liberal mind to turn stones with no roots. It is a time we change our political moves and interests as the mighty bonded people of Rangwe Constituency, It is a time to live upon our measures not seizures and pleasures, by our actions not reactions to issues, with or without sharp edges.

We must support good persons regardless of their region,in order to grow, develop and never again to weep blood and tears of poverty. Just imagine at 21st century, Rangwe Constituency has been used as a tool in terms of economic rejuvenation. We have marginalized it ourselves thro’ unwise politics.

We must give chance to those who are not only creatures of circumstances but creators of good transitional growth and development. How long do we want to take to improve? Can we think of the life of men, women and children of tomorrow? My fellow people of Rangwe, lets not cut yet the tree we are climbing on by giving invalid interpretation to system of governance based on our areas of residence but should be valid in terms of the impact and trends we gonna take to arrive to our dreams as a society,

Vote with a purpose to take us out of economic injustices, to take us out of the quagmire and the cocoons of poverty, illiteracy, and ill-health. You only get to know someones worth having known his potential.I know that only the best is good enough.Mr Oner is worth crossing us over, lets back our own.

Go go…and brighten the future of the people of Rangwe. Well deemed, lets do it united as one people, it is our priority not our option. God Bless Us and Bind Our Views Together.

  8. Ken.Nyambere.

    George,

Everyone man and woman in Rangwe especially from Kagan, knows that you are REAL.

A brand is an Asset that must be protected.Work on your brand and dont over rely on career political brief case carriers.

Select common electorate at random, and sit down with them, that way,you will never go wrong.

You have the best chance, and we would not excuse you if you made common mistakes.

I dont follow much on politics and Politicians but you can bet on my votes!

Forget distractors,we know you are REAL!!

    GOOD LUCK!

  9. George Oner

Ken, thank you very much. Tell Odera, you are better placed to write about Oner because you know Oner. Not Odera. Thank you brother

  10. COLLINS OMONDI OMULO

I come from Homa bay district -Kochia, i have known Goerge Oner since the year 1994, the allegations made against him do not have any base and only meant to harm him and taint his character. Fortunaltely it didnt succeed, it will not succeed.

Oner, keep your eyes on the wind screen and drive what you belive in which is a better future for Rangwe.

we will hold your hands stand with you, walk with you and run with you the whole course.

  11. ABAS OYOLA

Has Leo Odera done research before writing this article. Leo need to geopodise this and not to use rummours to barre young leaders from aspiring for any political post, especially from Luoland.

Kudos george go on brother we believe u r the change rangwe has been waiting for dont let haters bring u down remain focus coz our votes r just waiting for u

  13. Adede Chrisgone

Oner is an acquaintance of mine. I went to the same school as he did (slightly after him) and know how much at his heart his community has been. We cannot let purported journalists be let loose on our fellow youth who have ambitions for political office. It is the more sickening if such wicked initiatives are lead by people who should know better.
George has exhibited unparalleled leadership and servitude qualities that any well meaning youth should emulate. He has spent own resources (from early in his employment life) and mobilized his community to achieve much more than was thought impossible by non visionary leaders. This has to be commended.
The use of Raila’s name by coat-tail politicians and activists for political gain should be long forgotten. Making it look like these fellow single vote owners like we all are have the Chairman’s judgment is even little bit to say ridiculous. Anybody in the caliber of Oner, Matunga and any other youthful leader who rides the same ODM ideology must be supported by the youth; else we forever remain servants of divisive interests.
My final take, George, when you decide to run, may be you will be better for the wider county (am from Kasipul and would not mind you being my leader). If anything Jakagan, people are born in small home, there are those who work to outgrow their homes, then out-grow their Villages and clans, then they become citizens…Your horse has bolted…It is time to serve a wider audience..Don’t get appalled by this writer… when u represent whatever people are OK with what you stand for …just make sure he does not hide under your coat-tail to write the same about the next youthful generation, for his ilk will never cease…

For the sake of this story I will refer Hon. George Oner as a hunter. Keep focused to the antelope and do not be distracted by squirrels. An antelope is meaty and killing it requires more dedication and strategy, hence concentrate on the antelope.
