KENYA: ELECTION WILL BE HELD IN MARCH 2013

from odhiambo okecth

I do agree.

Time to concentrate on Nation Building.

One funny thing, bloggers will fall themselves head over heels discussing this now. Yet, it is a sure way through which they are kept busy as serious staff is cooked somewhere else.

Hello,

I believe Kenyans can now concentrate with nation building knowing clearly that elections will be held in March 2013. This comes from my believe that the two principals will never agree to terminate the National Accord till its sale by date. High court has given two scenarios today. That of terminating the National accord so as to hold election in 2012 or wait till it expires next year. Of course you must agree with Prof. Okot P’Bitek that ” All african leaders are self seeking scoudrous, they think from their stomach rather than from their heads”. What do you think?

Judges have made abig mistake by interprating our new constitution as abook of solomon. The judges acted as if they are out to please some body some where!
They act as if we ar still belongs to Nyayo Era where judiciary had no teeth to bite!
Marende can do that because he himself is apart of exacutive!
Kibaki have told the nation that MUNGIKI Is forcing him to be a president for life?
They beleive that its only afool that can his resignation letter WHEN HE IS APRESIDENT. Kibaki with case ranging from Drug to Hague can’t write such letter i swear.Majority of mps are Gaddafi Angels Drug cartels out to kill kenyan???

There’s no disputing that, Raila is ahead for being conscious, pragmatic and bold in addressing issues of public concern.
But voting this time will not just be about sheer popularity but deeds that directly and positively impacts on and improves the lives of his supporters. And interestingly he never does for the people of Nyanza what he always and readily does for the people of Central and Rift valley yet this is a region where he draws much of his support from and being the region that successive governments neglected and had no time in addressing her many socio-economic issues, and which still remain neglected despite a number of reformers being a part and parcel of the current government.
We need reopening of collapsed industries like Kicomi among others which none of the leadership from the region has shown any interest in having them running and boosting the existing ones through bringing in investors/ selling shares to residents to have them have a stake in their management and expand economic opportunities across the region. Further, agriculture in the region esp. cotton, sugarcane, rice production need utmost attention and investment given their being labour-intensive.
Thirdly, link roads in the region too need tarmacking besides re-carpeting the Kisian-Usenge one among others to ease trade and transport and attract investments. Same as connectivity of water and electricity services to rural areas to improve living conditions.
Residents should also cease being those who readily cast their votes without being concerned with their future and making demands regarding this so the people we vote for can address matters of local concern rather than going with the party euphoria and later complaining about non-performance. In fact every candidate should be limited to a one-term service so they can be dedicated to fulfilling made promises rather than recycling the same people who end up not performing and using their experience in leadership to entrench themselves in power. Examples abound on those who have have performed well in only five years of leadership. And multi-party competition based on deeds across the locality should be encouraged to have only the most competent and deserving ones get elected.
Lastly, on constituency delimitation, I suggest the renaming of Kisumu Rural Kit Mikayi constituency and district in recognition, celebration and preservation of the spectacular scenery in the rocks unique to the area and which also are a tourist attraction and cultural site, and it should have three administrative divisions.
