Kenya National Congress – brighter Kenya (Anyona’s ideology lives on)

from Elijah Kombo

‘For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion. – Ecc 9:4’

One man i admired his philosophy and ideologies – he meant a brighter future for all Kenyans. This man made my days in high school to e in the library perusing through vlumes of articles and journals regarding politics and democracy. If we have few of such a man from every county, then Kenyan could have changed forever. This man was put behind maximum bars by brutal regime of Moi – he never gave up. When he was released as a political prisoner, he ensure that his philosophy, his ideology are carried forward from generation to generation. He was at one time the apparent official opposition in parliament when all others fell in love with the soup of political betrayals! He did stand as a lone ranger for political reforms. Opposition parties coveted him. But this man formed his own party based on social democratic beliefs and ideologies. When the opposition leaders led Kenyan down by joining the ruling party and government, he stood still championing for the rights of ordinary Kenyan, say the small fish.

In November 2003, the long hand of death robbed us of a man who was genuine, determined, courageous and the greatest pillar of opposition politics based on development agenda. We will never have a leader like George Anyona Moseti! He was the doyen of opposition politics in Kenya. Both the might and low revered him. Jaramogi Oginda Odinga respected him as one among his equals. Nyachae fell down on his knees. Former President Moi was always worried at his public statements. A darling of lovers of democracy, Hon Anyona sent shockwaves when he rejected to be enjoined together with political opportunists, so called opposition parties. Other than Prof Anyang Nyongo, the rest of the initial bright opposition leaders have fallen by the wayside of corruption. But the good news is that there is a group that still believes we can have a bright future 9and not nusu mkate, ama full bread) – but full read for every Kenyan regardless of their social class and economic status. The same spirit is evolving again within some political class. These group do not want anything to do with Coalitions, mergers etc. These group want clean, zero-corruption, equal opportunity for every Kenyan citizen.

So ladies and gentlemen, join me for a standing ovation for heir apparent of the lost dreams and ideologies. The man who has taken over the mantle to ensure that Kenyans experience a new wave of political dispensation – on philosophy, ideology and democracy. And therefore, for you and me to enjoy that brigther future. Put your hands together and welcome Presidential contender Peter Kenneth of Kenya National Congress, today!

In as much as others and I welcome Presidential candidature of the flamboyant Hon. Peter Kenneth, what happened in the immediate past to the late Mr. Anyona whom the writer has praised posthumously was not by any measure a perfect send off to a man who had dedicated and risked his entire life to the betterment of kenyans. It stokes pain in the bellies of those who admired Anyona’ s polical approaches to be reminded of Anyona. Anyway, Bravo to peter kenneth for having used well the CDF funds allocated to your constituency and hope you’ll replicate good work once elected prezzo.
