Dear Koffi Anan
Allow me to infuse a request regarding items which you must ensure the two principals agree to, for the sake of us Kenyans.
1. Your eminence, do not leave Kenya without a public commitment by both principals to fire the Attorney General and Chief Justice.
2. Your lords, do not leave Kenya without a public commitment by both principals to endorse the interim electoral commission to become a permanent electoral body. With the census out of the way, a directive from to the permanent electoral commission to embark on voter identification registration forthwith is appropriate, lest we have a power vacuum and Kalonzo Musyoka takes over.
3. Your beneficence, do not leave Kenya without a public commitment by both principals to allow for the delivery of a new constitution with time lines on completed stages which should be concluded well before 2012.
4. Lastly most excellent, ask, no, demand the two principals and all willing to run for public office in Kenya to take this oath which only you or one from your office must administer:
I swear by Nyakalaga, Ngai, Were, Mulungu (etc) the healer, Ruoth wuon Osimbo and I take to witness all the gods, all the goddesses, to keep according to my ability and my judgment, the following Oath and agreement:
To consider dear to me, as my parents, him who taught me this art of politics: to live in common with him and, if necessary, to share my goods with him; To look upon his children as my own brothers, as Kenyans, to teach them this art.
I will deliver my services for the good of Kenyans according to my ability and my judgment and never do harm to anyone.
I will not give someone a job because they are my tribe or family
or relative, nor will I advise such a plan; and similarly I will not give a woman or man preference for a job except only because they can do the job.
But I will preserve the purity of my life and my skill to advocate for Wanjiku at all times.
I will not take land, money or steal from public coffers, even if others offer it to me whilst corruption disease is manifest; I will leave this monies to preserve my dignity, my office and to restore the Kenyan name to be as trustworthy as that of the Swiss Bank, specialists in this art of honesty.
To every person whom God will find favor for me to serve, I will do it only for the good of Kenya, keeping myself far from all intentional ill-doing and all seduction and especially from the pleasures of love with women or with men, be they free or slaves.
Never ever shall I, or anyone around me steal elections, nor maim, nor kill in order to allow rigging of elections, but will do all in my personal power, or through proxy to not only accept defeat, but publicly concede and congratulate the election winner.
All that may come to my knowledge in the exercise of my servitude or in daily commerce with man or woman, which ought not to be spread abroad, I will not keep secret and will always reveal.
If I keep this oath faithfully, may I enjoy my life and practice my servitude, respected by all men and in all times; but if I swerve from it or violate it, may the reverse be my lot, and may The Hague be my destination.
Lastly great one, I ask to indulge you in a prayer for Kenya:
Obonyo Nyakalaga yie iduogiye Kenya wa ni kwe mondo obediye. Kata ka ok Kiny, Ruoth wuon Osimbo parwa chieng kiduogo ka lweny ger!
Ooreroo kidi luanda, Kofi Annan ooreroo, Kidi Luanda ma idho tek!
