subject Uhuru Kenyatta For President:

“Our people have been oppressed because we are never together,” he said amid applause by the congregation. The deputy PM attributed the killing of many people from the region during the post-election mayhem to division among political leaders in the province. “The majority of those who lost their lives were our people. They were killed because we were split.” source: http://www.nation.co.ke/News/politics/-/

Question: Who has oppressed you Mr. Kenyatta. You father stole the land and thats why “your” people live in fear in Rift Valley. give it back.

Mr. Kenyatta if you continue with those lines of campaigns, then be assured that Kenyans will rise against you. Let you be reminded that Kenya is bigger than central alone. You will get 100% votes in central, but you will be locked out. You have started again alienated PNU from the rest of Kenya. Kombo that made you believe you have support in western has made U-turn. Nyachae is gone, Mwakwere is going home. You will remain with Githae and some central MPs. I wish you hired Peter Keneth as your political advisor or better, support him, Kenyans are ready for him anytime, not you silly tribalist.

Lee, I agree with you. Such language coming form such a leader amounts to hate speech. Kenyans died, over 1300 period. I felt great pain when I herd that over 33 Kenyans had been burned alive in Kiambaa church. I equally felt great pain when I saw on Ajazeera innocent passengers being whisked from vehicles and hacked to death at Naivasha, in fact my heart misses a bit when this clip is replayed on some Tv stations. I couldn’t sleep well when I saw the images of a family of nine who were burned alive in Naivasha.

We are all Kenyans, we feel pain when innocent Kenyan lives are lost because of reckless political speeches that continue to divide this country further. Kenyans lost their lives, their family, their friend, their neighbors and above all their fellow citizens.

I feel Uhuru is simply sowing the same seeds of discord in people by trying to portray that a certain community suffered more than the others. I eagerly await the proposed bill that will criminalize hate speech and reign in on such leaders who when faced with consequences of their past ills retreat over the weekends to fund drives in rural areas and continue preaching hatred among Kenyans.

    Misasa,

You know nothing about Sudan, if you knew how disillusioned fellows are here, you would shut up!!!

For one, a one week holiday has been declared for voting beginning kesho given folks are not even registering. From tomorrow till Wednesday next week!! Yeah, that is how bad things are.

Most say they will not even bother to vote. Brother, take charge of your destiny, like I said before, it is very fashionable to shout TRIBALISTS AND SHAME ON YOU to those who say issues as they are.

But brother, that will not deter some of us from saying what ails us most, and even if it is painful to some of you.

Thanks JT for your observation, we are lacking honesty and this will be our Waterloo in the coming years. Unless we accept and address the injustices that were visited to people by our previous regimes, we will be cheating ourselves!!! How will a landless guy in Rift valley view a neighbour with land especially if he/she is an immigrant? I know many will argue that people have a right to own property every where in the country, but does that apply only to one community? and by the way, how comes it is only one community who migrated to other areas? for example why didn’t the Luos migrated to the coast? or why didn’t the Merus migrated to RV? why is it that one community had the opportunity to migrate to RV, coast and even western and not others?

The lies we are peddling around will one day come back to finish us if we are not careful, we just have to be honest and own up to the mistakes our leaders did and look for ways of correcting them. It is unfortunate some people cheered Uhuru when he was talking of “our people walinyanyazwa” without asking themselves who oppressed “our people”!!!

How would our parents bought the land when they didn’t have money. The leaders of the day used government’s money and influence to buy the land.

Chief they have not been given holiday to go and vote, they are given
holiday to go and register as voters.. get that clear.. other things you
are highlighting I leave it for you, because I know there will be no
different since you have already formed an opinion.

    Misasa,

Acknowledged,I actually corrected that in another post. Good you know a few things about Sudan. But about leadership, we are all in the same boat.

At one time Jackson Mwalulu was an MP (and assistant minister?) courtesy of some by- election during those KANU days! A lot of water of course have passed under the proverbial bridge.

What intrigues me is how the sands of time have failed to impact on Jackson’s basic ability to engage in debate by zeroing on the ISSUE and venturing own ideas to edify his own position. Jackson’s contribution confirms the tragic rot that continues to characterize the narrative of our contemporary Kenyan political leadership.

I hate people who use “our people” to mean tribe. It makes no sense to me when one tries to associate a poor, hungry and struggling citizen with a rich politician who aint through with brainwashing naive Kenyans.

    Misasa,

One week for voter registration,as you said, Sudanese do not even know who will be their next President or MPs or whatever, but the issues of tribalism bedevils them as much as it does us, and yes, like us, they are talking about it.

So ndugu, lets talk about tribalism rather than fight about it. It will not go away when we hide it, we should ask how it is perpetrated, encouraged, maintained and how it thrives.

If Raila or Kibaki or Kalonzo puts only his tribesmen at Office of The President or Prime Ministers Office or Ministries they have control over, we must say. Silence over it will not make it go away.

Now fellow Kenyans the blood of hate speech is not even dried and here you go again provoking and exciting the ghost of tribalism. dont we ever learn.?

I humbly plead with jaluo to stop these unhealthy debate immediately

We are brothers and sisters and everybody shed a tear for a lost relative or close friend

The land issue was looked into by the ndungu report n since we are a nation of law the proper channels must be followed to address any issues so let nobody think this families will just `give` back the land.great injustice has bn done to kenyans by the elite, and they will always make you believe its is this tribe suppressing the rest.which 1 single leader has done good to his people after being elected,,(I can wait all day for an answer)
in the current kenyan political arena I don’t see any1 who is right to lead the nation.not that kenya has no leaders, think githongo n the likes, but the kenyan ppl are too naive to look elsewhere 4 leadership.come 2012 I wount b supprised to c uhuru being elected and raila being the prime minister all over again.

  12. Josh

Good people….i have been watching and reading on your comments on this issue with lots of keenness…

One thing you get to realize is that there are pple here who are keen to defend their kins to death for leadership..not because they the leaders are worth it but rather because they belong to them in tribe.

I would wish to put it across that as long as we are Kenyans the issue of young/new leadership will never happen in Kenya. pple always tend to get back to their tribal cocoons towards elections and to be precise…this is common to some one tribe in Kenya….hate me if u so wish to…

The leaders we have will always be elected unless they die…in Kenya money and power at hand makes politics…

If we aught to talk…then the current leaders are the very pple we expect to run in 2012…u like it u dont….

The next president has to be a RAILA….a KALONZO a RUTO…a UHURU…or maybe a SAITOTI….the occupier of state house 2012 must be one of the above…u like it u dont.

My best argument as pple of this forum is…among the five pple listed above…who is best suited to run and serve Kenyans? Who has the interests of Kenyans at heart?

Some of us have in the past and in the future supported leaders of reasonable cause..because they have ability to deliver..unlike others who until death makes them part the world, will support leaders who come from their tribe….

Lets us all reason out a loud and support a man who can clean this country and make it worth living for the sake of our kids and our old age to come.

CENTRAL PROVINCE IS MAJIMBO SINCE INDEPENDENCE 12.12.1963. WHY SHOULD OTHER PROVINCES BE LIBERAL WITH KIKUYU ACCOMMODATION?

Anybody who is naive enough to start business or buy land in central province will not succeed because:

    1. They will never have Kikuyu clients
    2. They will loot his shop or kiosk
    3. They will beat him up
    4.Set his premises on fire
    5. And worse, if they persist, they will simply deny them the right to life by shameless panga ganging.

In view of the above, why should non-GEMA allow Kikuyu to dominate us?

Whereas other Kenyans patronize Kikuyu businesses, eg. hotels, Kikuyus by oath do not.

Our good people. Whether a minister has Ogiek or Dorobo blood flowing in his veins, it matters little. What I know is that Kenya is in a quagmire and the solution lies in radical shifts in our thinking, institutions and whatever else we do.

What I have been reading here betrays empty talk, empty thinking and lack of direction. If Uhuru and all our glutton politicians are that bad, what you good people must do is to sit down and think, dream, strategise and spend sleepless nights working on kicking the gluttons out as we straighten our systems.

Good peeple must stand up for the country and revolutionize it for the good of all of us. If many of you are agonizing over my tribal identity instead of getting anything good from what I am saying, know that you would still remain in the quagmire.

    To all,
Once upon a time a dear “Gachungwa” (really lovable but not ready to settle down) of mine, worked at this Flower farm (Jina nimeibana) in Naivasha. She worked in the Stores where they processed the paperwork for the flowers, that were destined for export. The Firm exported quite a bit, in fact there were times when demands were high and as such they would process as much as two full containers.

Now, flower farming is big business and very lucrative for the Millionaires who have invested in it. So one would have thought that those who were working in any flower farm, would be well paid and monied all the time. Well as it turned out my “Sweety Nyambura” was never monied all the time. She kept on complaining that their pay was always late, so I had to time and again chip in for her maintenance. This went on for sometime, till one day when I called her she started “Groaning” over the phone, seriously sounding worked up. All she was doing was cursing this Firm Owner who had no feelings at all. So I decided to take a ‘mathree’ that evening to go to Naivasha to spend there. This was like on the15th of the month. On my arrival in Naivasha and into her house, I discovered that she was as broke as as a “Church mongrel”, let alone a mouse.

For a moment I thought that being a lady she decided to go materialistic, and probably engaged in mortgaging a dress in a boutique, a very common action with ladies then. And so I thought this was what had made her broke. But on further investigation, I came to find out that she had not been paid at the Company. When I pressed her further she told me that, late payment of the Company workers, was a common occurrence at the firm, not because the Company had some cash flow problems, but simply because the owner of the Company would time and again appear at the premises, come the end of the month, when the employee’s salaries had already been withdrawn from the Bank and brought to the Company premises. Whenever he appeared at the premises when the Money was in the Finance department, you know, money to pay watu wa mkono, (the KMs; kanda ya moko) and some office people as well. The man would then proceed to order the Finance manager/Accountant to release all the money to him.

He would then arrogantly tell off the employees that they would be paid on the 15th of the month. He would then take off to go drink himself sillyusing the same employee salaries. The employees would then have to wait for another 15 days, or when Mama came to their rescue, before being paid.

This had become the norm in the Firm. The only time the employees would get their pay on time was when MAMA came to see how the firm was doing. She would then approve and sign for cheques to avail cash for the employees. That particular Friday, I discussed the issue with my Gachungwa, and implored her to find a job in elswhere. With a bit of luck she later relocated to another flower firm called Sulmac.

Now when the same man, who have total disregard for people working and generating tons of money for him, is being proposed here for the # 1 spot, then I am left asking this: how naive and dastardly would we be to elect such a man to the Leadership of our country?

Second series of episodes: At some period in time I loved “Discoing” at this joint on River Chania in Thika town. I lived in Ruiru Town and so “Cascades” was a favorite hot spot for us, just 9 miles away as opposed to Jiji which was 18 miles away. At times me and my buddies would gate crash into Wedding Parties at the Hotel. For us, we were just kawaida guys, who were looking for fun time. So it did not matter where the Fun was, and as long as the Bouncers did not Bring Fujo we would be in mpaka Chee.

As I have said, we were kawaida guys, looking for fun time. Surprisingly enough there was another “Company” who had a habbit of “gate crashing” into wedding parties, at this Hotel, just like the four of us. Now this other ‘Company’, who happened to be the same person I talked about in the previous paragraphs, and whose family owned Cascades, would gate crash and proceed to behave in an outrageously undignified manner. I can remember on 5 (five) different occasions, I watched in disbelief, as the Bouncers and his aid(body Gard), helped him out of the party floor when he quite didn’t know where he was. Though it is almost 20years now, the Picture is still imprinted in my mind. And I would find it extremely difficult to pull out my voter’s card and cast it for him. For when I do that, I will be doing a total disservice to beloved Kenya. For I know damned too well, that the Character I will be bestowing with that privilege, is someone who is gonna go to State house and start “Chewing” Black outs there, especially after working on too many “Teachers”, Vodka, Bacardi, or Johny Jawuoth (Walker), combined with “Big Smoke” (Ndhom)

Who then, will be Sober to lead the Nation if the Number one Principle, “Chews” Black outs in office. And what will happen at the time he will be having a “Black out”? Who will be the President at that moment? His wife, body Gard or who?

When I look at the “VW” deal (Though I drive the exact model but a Wagon version) and his response on the 9 billion attempted “fraud” saga, it reminds me of what my Gachungwa used to go through due to this Man’s misuse of Company money. I get worried stiff, at the thought of him being the # 1 Principle. Kenya would probably be milked dry to satisfy the man’s drinking needs.

For these reasons, I find this Character not fit for that office. Kenyans must therefore think hard and dig deeper before coming up with such wild suggestions for the Presidency.

Ikiwa mtamchagua, basi msiije mkasema eti, hamukuwaambiwa. Forewarned is to be forearmed with the right knowledge to make a right decision on crucial matters. And ignorance is no defense for you. Now You know!

    To All,
There are two comical suggestions at how Mzee jomo Kenyatta grabbed land from Gatundu to Nairobi.
One its is said that he once told his driver before leaving Gatundu for Nairobi that he will sleep and wherever he will wake up all that area will be his and that is how he acquired tha junk of land almost upto Nairobi.
Two,the old man would fill the Landrover with fuel and instruct the driver to drive upto the the point where the fuel is used up,again thats how he came to acquire those chunks of land all over kenya.Remember the landrovers of those days used to have some spare metal tanks for spare fuel.
What is your fashion of kenyatta grabbios/kutunyanaosis?.
    Nzissi-Embu.
