Even better to google the first sentence of these so-called alerts. Every internet alert I get, from “”serious” warnings about criminals roaming Wal-Mart parking lots ready to car jack, rape and murder shoppers, to dire consequences if I dare to open some sinister email – every one of them is a hoax. So what is the big deal? NOISE. We get so much crap in our mailboxes that forwarded emails often get eliminated without even being read. I know those people who blindly forward crap to me and sadly, if some legit warning came from them, I would ignore it bc these people never bother taking a few moments to check the veracity of the info they forward. If you really want to do yourself and your friends a favor – before you forward this stuff mindlessly – please make sure it is for real. What’s the harm in that?
