Former officer fingers Biwott as Ouko killer

NICHOLAS Biwott shot and killed the late Dr Robert Ouko within the compound of Nakuru’s State House on the night of February 12-13 1990, according to a testimony given yesterday to the Parliamentary Select Committee investigating the former minister’s murder.
Biwott’s alleged personal role in the murder dramatically unfolded in a three-hour testimony by a former District Security Intelligence Officer, (DSIO) James Lando Khwatenge, who had access to secret intelligence traffic between senior officials of the former regime at the time of Dr Ouko’s death. Khwatenge, who left the Intelligence Services at the rank of Inspector as a Deputy DSIO in Nakuru in 1992, was posted to Eldoret in August 1990 and worked at several stations including Iten and the provincial security headquarters in Nakuru.
