At the time of designing a computer, the designer/s thought it a wise idea to include among other major keys, a delete key. This is the one key that has either been used properly or misused.
This key has helped many to get rid of the junk e-mail which to some, come in thousands. In this way, it has given a breathing space to the in box. It also helps get rid of the un wanted draft copies and clear the sent/bulk/trash boxes.
That said, this key has brought mental torture and frustration to many people. How so? People have accidentally touched this key thus whipping off needed information, such as a term paper, thesis or dissertation. At such moments, some have felt that this key was included by mistake. Further, there are those who delete anything they see or messages that would have been of great help to them.
Since I have been a victim of this key,I have learned to use it wisely. May be I should pause and ask: What’s your take on the delete key?
Whether anyone needs this key or not, would be a good subject of debate, but I am not going to dwell on it any more.
I now want to shift to another delete key that I value a great deal-God’s delete key! I don’t know about you,but many are the times I have disappointed and caused pain to my heavenly father. Every time I realize my foolishness,I have always found myself at the feet of the merciful Savior. Indeed, He has always accepted me by simply using the delete key to wipe all my foolishness/sins.
Listen to how He puts it:
“Praise the LORD, o my soul, and forget not all his benefits-who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.” (Psalms 103:2-3.)
“As far as the east is from the west, so far as He removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalms 103:12.)
“Come now let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they will be as white as snow……” (Isaiah 1:18-20.)
“If we confess our sins,He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us of all unrighteousness.” ( 1 John 1:9.)
Oh, I truly love and need God’s key every single day on my journey home. How about you my friend?
Just a thought.
