To all Kenyan patriots. This is a call to you to remain vigilant against attempts by the ever ‘incorrigible’ politicians to mutilate the HDC that the CoE has paunstakingly worked on.
Let the draft be debated above board in parliament and let each and every one of us prepare to vote for or against the draft.
If the ‘contentious’ issues remain so, let us vote on them item by item.
Experiences from elsewhere indicate that:
– a powerful senate is good for the country
– a parliament that is fully insulated from the executive dangling carrots to its members remain independent and vibrant
-fewer but stronger devolution units ensure faster socio-economic development
-respect for existing governance arrangements is critical in ushering in new constitutions
Let us therefore tell the politicians to spare us the noise. The constitution is for all of us and we have equal dstake in it. Let them not behave as if they ‘own’ Kenya.

Yes. …” This constitution is for all of you Kenyans”. I couldn’t agree with you more on your take about your constitution. It is mind bugling to see your so-called political parties: PNU and ODM approaching the debate of this constitution like their own piece of property or like public funds they always steal from Kenya people in day light!. Can your group tell PNU gang that the President of Kenya will not always come from PNU party or Central province or from Luo land. Also remind them that they cannot get it both ways!. If they accept Pure Presidential system..they must also accept what comes with it. In this case stronger Senate is a part of pure presidential system. PNU cannot cherry pick only the parts they like in pure presidential system, and leave out what they don’t like. Senate with “constutional teeth” must be apart of this constitution in Kenya to check on: executive, Judiciary and the house.
Without taking sides, ODM has the right call on this C. Draft. The C. draft CANNOT be open for amendments at this stage by any party. Those advocating for amendments are using this code word to kill it! If PNU is serious about delivering new Constitution to Kenya, they should go ahead and support it like ODM is doing. After it has been passed, then these parties can try to amend the clauses they don’t agree with later.
The only perfect constitution ever written may be the “bible” but even here there are still major disagreement in the meaning of this document through the world. This Kenya constitution may not be perfect but at least Kenya citizens will have something to build on and improve on for many generations to come than the status quo.
Kenya politicians want weaker Senate because the days of looting CDF will come to an end when this constitution is enacted. It is stupid for Kenya people to: debate , support or not support this constitution in the context of how it is going to affect: political parties, Kibaki, Oginga, Ruto, Kenyatta and the remaining tribal leaders in the next election. These tribal leaders will be gone tomorrow if history is any guide but the constitution MUST ENDURE!.
For Wakenya, you need to rally grass roots to support this constitution regardless of their: tribal, party, regional affiliations.
