Kenya: Hon Ruto should defect, face PM Raila in by election if he is a man enough

From: Ndebele Okoth

Hon Ruto should defect, face PM Raila in by election if he is a man enough.

In fact, if Ruto thinks he has enough grassroots support, he should resign from ODM and seek a new mandate from the electorates, Just as Mr Raila did in 1996 by defecting from Ford-Kenya, and later won Langata by-election on NDP ticket 1997.

The ODM Ministers and MP’s who are disgruntled with PM Raila Odinga leadership should defect instead of abusing the democracy process through political turncoat’s tactics geared by selfish gain.

On the other hand, the ODM political leadership must also take a stand to set up a discipline clause, to deal with the rogue party members.

If you sleep with the devil, he will screw you up. Hon. Ruto is a devil and he engineered the slaughter of thousands of kikuyus when you cheered him, and you said he was man enough then. When you abet crime like hon. Raila did, cheering and clapping when Ruto rained mayhem on innocent women and children, this has boomeranged on Raila. If you keep a viper in your pocket, be careful, it will bite you.

Nobody is ever succeeded in taming wild cats, so sit tight, let the fire burn the belly, feel the thorn in the flesh, and by 2012 you will be rotting. These is not prophesy, but any fool can read black clouds that will eventually pour heavily. History repeats itself,do you remember when jogoo swallowed tractor(tinga) and jogoo coughed incessantly?

We are conviniently avoiding the root cause of the violence that erupts in Rift Valley again and again with the ferocity of a cornered cobra. It is not Ruto. It is not last general elections. It is the land issue. It does not matter what political realignments will be in place during the next elections. If we, as a nation, do not stop grandstanding and face the land problem squarely then we must be prepared to pay the price.

WILLIAM RUTO, ARGWINGS KODHEK, THOMAS ADHIAMBO MBOYA, ROBERT JOHN OUKO, KALONZO MUSYOKA, DO THEY HAVE THE SAME FATE?

Argwings Kodhek,Queen’s Counsel(QC), the lawyer, defended and saved Mau Mau suspects from the gullows but he mysteriously ”died nicely in a motor accident” on a smooth part Harlingham Road. History reminds us that this same Kodhek supported Jomo Kenyatta to the hilt at a time when Jaramogi Oginga Odinga was challenging the former on corruption and trbalism. In total loyalty he never joined KPU, the party of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga. Despite this, where is Argwings Kodhek?

Thomas Joseph Adhiambo Mboya fought hard to have Jomo Kenyatta released from detention, fought fearlessly to release Kikuyu Mau Mau from the British gallows. He bit the bullet at 1 O’Clock in front of Chanies Pharmacy, Tom Mboya Street, Nairobi!

Robert John Ouko was one of the most brilliant and most loyal ministers, but ”he broke his leg, shot himself and set himself on fire, killing himself nicely”. He too, William Ruto, made history by this acts. He unreservedly loved his president, William.

What would stop a very evil rich PNU man from hiring a Luo with billions of shillings to shoot and kill William Ruto in Nyanza Province then blame Raila Amolo Odinga for the crime? There could be a good motive to do so, first to avenge the Kiamba Church fire, second to divide the Kalenjins from the Luos permanently and third to grab the saliva provoking Rift Valley land, this time permanently. Remember the infamous George Githii of the Daily Nation shamelessly blamed KPU for ”killing Mboya”, but it turned out to be Nahashon Njenga Njoroge, the assassin who silenced reason that fateful day. The assassin was a cousin to one omnipotent minister, a nephew to president Jomo Kenyatta, NM.

William Somoeia Ruto beware when a too-good salesman is selling you sparkling snake poison for soup. Beware ”The Ides of March” William!! William Shakespeare never listened to the wise advice to beware of the ides of March and hence found himself at the receiving end of the sword of Brutus.

Greater politicians have walked the same path you are walking now and sadly lost their lives. I find it hard to believe that this time you will be an exception to the rule. We need you alive, William even if you are not a politician.

I totally refuse that what they have offered you is out of love. Forget it dear Somoeia. You are better alive even if you are not in ODM.

    DR ODIDA OKUTHE.

Hon. William Ruto has a right to stay in ODM and fight from within rather than quit and face a by-election. I beg to differ with those calling Ruto unprintable names simply because he has differed with PM Raila over Mau evictions, trial of post-election violence and now the new “marriage” between him at President Mwai Kibaki.

History may just be repeating itself. When Raila decided to leave the opposition to work with then President Moi in what was first known as partnership and later co-operation, then merger, my fellow Luo people never saw it as betrayal and instead showered “JAKOM” with praises. What now makes them think that Ruto should be sacked or even sacrificed for working with Kibaki and PNU. Just the same way Raila left KANU-LDP merger, please give Ruto time to first finish his business in ODM before joining a new party.

Those asking Ruto to be man enough to defect from ODM must know that he can easily win back his parliamentary seat in a by-election even tomorrow without breaking a sweat.

Sacking Ruto will not make ODM any better but that be the case, Raila has the powers to shuffle the ODM side of the cabinet, why has he taken that long? Is there anything he fears that other kenyans do not know?

If Raila is man enough, he should allow difference in opinion between him and Ruto and ODM supporters nationwide must accept the bitter truth that “NO RIFT VALLEY, NO ODM”.
