Writes Jakotae Omory from Uriri District
Before and at independence all 42 Kenyans Communities were united. They fought gallantly until they freed themselves from the colonists yoke. As matter of facts many Kenyans lost their lives in the bloody struggle.
It will be remembered that the late Oginga Odinga, argwengs Kodhek, J.M Kariuki, Tom Mboya, Kungu Karumba, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and other great sons of Kenya then led the struggle and played the key and vital role in their country.
Kenyans lost faith in both Kenyatta’s and Moi’s governments because they were both stumbling blocks to the solutions and therefore steadfastly believe that time was ripe to elect a regime that they thought could mend the yawning gaping loop holes in the country, without knowing that they were jumping from fry pan to fire.
This is surfacing clearly when Ruto, who was immensely popular during Orange Campaign and people believed he was above the corruption of so many pro-establishment hustlers, is busy criss – crossing the country with no campaign even before the referendum campaigns officially kicks off. History will heartlessly judge Ruto.
This scene has spoiled our ray of hope in some young leaders who will be in the presidential race for the country’s fourth president. The majority of them are not politically mature to lead this country.
Ruto, whom we thought is like a pillar stone to common mwanainchi’s salvage, and whose political slogan was constitutional amendment, having realized that a stitch in time saves nine has with his disciples ditched the so called government of liberators and joined the well- known land grabbers.
The incident demonstrated clearly the smell of him being one of them because the current draft has stated the maximum hectares one should have.
So the only way out for the democratic Kenyans to have these glutton land grabbers surrender their erroneously acquired land, having it repossessed, is to adopt the Philippines style of white flowers of peace versus war tanks which they used to overthrow the authoritative regime of Ferdinand Macros. This was triggered by the assassination of Ninoy Aquino which increased criticism towards corrupt administration sharply among the people.
Cory Aquino, who had stood up as her husband’s successor to realize the ideals he no longer could, was pushed onto the political stage and succeeded tremendously. So this is the only way Kenyans should adopt to save our beloved country from these our erroneously hell-bent leaders on no side whom their main aim is to protect their dubiously acquired land.
To our fat cats of no wing, in the current tent August house gets it from me. The tree that will not bend to the wind must ultimately bend in the storm. Not only will it bend, but it will also break “bado mapambano”.
