Re: MUNGIKI?????????

I ask the same thing Kingpin …. who is more human than the other ….. The Mungiki say they are fighting for the rights of poor Kenyans, inequality and economic injustices in the land but they end up hurting and senselessly killing “the very people they are fighting for”

Lets talk about it openly …. they instill fear, maim at will, torture and kill …….. the police comes in to contain the situation and the cycle goes on and on all this at the expense of innocent Kenyan trying to make a living out of the sky rocketing inflation rates and high taxes………

Thus the question Maina Kiai, Orina, Wanyeki, Gladwell Otieno and Maathai Wangare, its fair to put our voices out about a blotted cabinet that is being sworn in as I write this…..but what say you about the our brothers the MUNGIKI??

WANAKAZI TOO WHAT SAY YOU?

That bunch will only make noise when Mungiki adherents are killed. You wont hear them when this group of cowards are killing Kenyans. Are they members of Mungiki? Men these guys just don’t make sense to me.

And if Mungiki are not cowards, let them come out and fight openly even for five minutes. Lets see if they will withstand Kenyans.

Human rights are violated when these guys are killed. When they cause mayhem and violate the rights of poor Kenyans, then that’s justice!

THE MAY I SEE IT!

Yeah, it’s the same way MAU MAU killed more Africans than mzungus in the name of eliminating traitors. Sometimes they wiped whole villages of the people they claimed to be fighting for. I just don’t understand, i have come to the conclusion that some problems are “country specific”. We are the only country where the “freedom fighters” kill and maim their own.

The problem is that Mungiki was hijacked by Politicians and transformed from being a humble religious outfit attracting largely young, un-employed dis-illusioned Males; to an armed youth-wing outfit .So they were funded by mainly Politicians and rich people with “interests” they wanted protected.

The politicians have always funded and protected them when it was convenient. They were funded before 2002 to protect their interests and were promised “good” things if some people came to power. O.K some people won Elections and never kept their promise of free land etc to the Mungikis. So towards the end of the last term, they realized it had all been lies; so they sprang into action to vent their anger cause they had waited for 5 yrs and got no rewards.

Well ,the govt. reacted violently and a lot of innocent lives were lost. So of course, the Police missed an opportunity to get to the bottom of the problem and Mungiki went underground. Come January 2008 as the country was burning, Politicians and Sponsors of Mungiki looked for them again .They funded them to protect their interest ,while lying to Mungiki that they were protecting “their community” and would be rewarded handsomely.

I think Mungiki have realized that they have been duped a second time. The peace deal has been signed, coalition govt formed and the Politicians have moved on with their lives. The promises are not forthcoming and their leaders continue to be persecuted.

This will be a tricky one; you cant have the same old Sponsors of Mungiki in govt and expect them to wipe out their back-up “Militia:

And this is my prediction, i might be wrong; The govt is going to react violently again, Mungiki will go underground, some of their foot-soldiers will die but new ones will be recruited soon. The Mungiki network will remain intact .But soon the POLITICIANS will rejuvinate Mungiki again by simply funding their “leaders” who will in turn recruit new foot-soldiers. It requires a political solution.

Just like the MAU MAU before who killed and maimed Africa in the name of protecting them, Mungiki have also fallen trap to the “ideological” lie that by existing and causing terror they are protecting their “people”.It’s a lie ,lie, lie, lie.

Hope someone can come-up and with a system of Civic Education to enlighten them.

Do not be fooled to believe that Saitoti is interested in attacking Mungiki. Saitoti is fighting the Uhuru Kenyatta Mungiki. Uhuru Kenyatta’s Mungiki has to be crashed so that Saitoti rehabilitates his Mungiki in readiness for his own presidential plan for 2012.

There are two Mungikis. Uhurus.and. Kibaki’s ( now Saitotis).

If we can not be candid we will perish.

And Yes. Register Mungiki and deal with it as a registered organisation.

Saitoti must be relieved of the Internal security docket. An ODM Minister is required in that DOcket for starters.

I’m not disputing your argument Orina, but upon what theory do you base your claims? How credible is this information?

Just ask yourselves these questions:

what was the wisdom in disbanding the special Police Unit which was dedicated to deal with mungiki soon after the stolen election for a few weeks only to form it again when it was clear that government was never going to be for the winner takes it all this time round?

Can Michuki/Saitoti tell Kenyans what changed so quickly between the time they disbanded the force and when they formed it again?

Mungiki is using the wrong mehods to address real problems that exist not only in thier community but kenya as a whole ,i don’t think it belongs to uhuru ,kibaki or any kenyan ,these are the problems we must find a solution to as Kenyans .

The governments latest move for dialogue maybe the most realistic final solution ,the mungiki can only grow.

Orina,

This won’t wash. We have asked you to come out and condemn the mungiki, the way you condemn the police when they kill car jackers and other criminals, all in the name of human rights.

Its not saitoti or uhuru who has calmed the mungiki. It’s the new prime minister, just by offering to reason with them. I hate everything they do,
but men, if they got any beef with anyone, give them a chance to say it PEACEFULLY.

We have IDPs suffering in camps and all you care about is shouting your voices hoarse about a bloated cabinet, the next thing will PREDICTABLY be your demand for a grand coalition opposition…….. Shame on all of you masquerading human rights activists.

Why aren’t we saying the truth here?

The reason none of these people wants to deal with Mungiki is because they made a deal with them!

Dont we all remember credible reports we got during the violence of Mungiki recruits being ferried to Nairobi, Naivasha and Nakuru? Kwani you think they went there just for the love of the house of Mumbi? Hell NO!! Some deal was struck between them and the Top politicians who thought the threat of unleashing Mungiki would make Kenyans relent and let them get away with a stolen Election (though I’m not so sure if they dint succeed…)… And of course they feel let down that the people they gave their lives fighting are now in the same government; and worse still, that the people who hired them have disowned the!!!

How else do you explain the total silence of the politicians from Central yet it’s their Constituents being killed? All questions are being asked by ‘outsiders’….

And it took a simple recognition by Raila to get them to down their tools…

If you are doubting that the government, Ministers, Leaders have had dealings and have used Mugiki then be aforewarned. The mugiki is an octopus that might not be contained if nothing is done sooner than latter. You all saw them they were worse but they were treated like pickpockets and we did no see the police dealing with them like they did with the protestors. WHY????? do you think this was the case. Your guess is as good as mine unless…..

Wanakazi

I do support Mbuthia in his quest for genuine theories and credible sources of such sensitive info.

Yes as much as we have a mungiki problem that affects kenya’s poor tribe( *oh yes we have two the rich and poor!*),let us not get ‘excited’ like our friend-*he of the Saitoti, Uhuru fallacy* and stop being gullible sycophants ready to spew any rumour off the mills.

this has already been proved. In November last year or so, Mungiki came to State House and some deal was done. Then when the revenge attacks took place in Nakuru post-election, it was vanloads of young armed men that the police were ordered to let thru with no questions asked. The BBC reported it, and Mutua was in a volcanic rage trying to deny any such meetings had taken place.

There are still a lot of questions. Like the police killings of ‘suspected’ Mungiki last year, in areas around Nairobi. On the one hand they are trying to exterminate ‘them’ and on the other, they treat them as an extrajudicial killing machine to be used as a State resource.

The situation seems to be a truly peculiar one. Appearances suggest that the Mungiki may have been tapped to fill TWO rolls.

– 1 be a tool of national security covert action organs to wage “plausibly deniable” uses of force against designated foes; or stimulate a growing cycle of ethnicity flavored revenge killings.

– 2 aid PR by law enforcement agencies by providing “dead Mungiki suspects”(?) bodies, showing police were ‘shielding the public’.
