Okoth,
You have seen the truth again. PNU and KANU are out to split ODM and most of ODM leaders are still sleeping. PNU is very active and they will fulfill that mission very soon, with Gideon Moi now welcoming the ODM rift valley MPs, Raila might remain only with Ruto or may be nobody. I do guess the PNU/ODM power sharing was 50% to 60% portfolio not 50%-50%. I mean the ODM is trying to tell his supporters that the power sharing was 50% and we as supporters want to think so, since our leaders insist all the time on the figure five and zero behind it. But in real life it is 50-60% share, where 60% for PNU and 50% ODM, so you know life is now 50 & 60% in Kenya today. By the way I hear mungiki is still very active and mount Elgon is still burning with Chinese bullets and guns. For majimboim even the luo, Luhja, coast MPs should just bring the motion in parliament not only the rift valley Mps, and the Bomas draft thing. Becuase if they DO NOT, then they will just go back to sit home including Raila once the coalition fails or the time of that coalition government ends. I do not think they will get any more supporters who will be ready to die for them. International community are also watching them very carefully and waiting to see what new things they are going to offer, if they fail to deliver a good and new constitution you will see that the international community will also pull his support from them. They will be like orphans if that coalition does not deliver a new good constitution before 2009. MPs from the rift valley may not want to sacrifice again to be with Raila in ODM if Moi succeeds in reviving KANU in the rift valley and that is what Kibaki and Uhuru Kenyatta are after. Because once that happens then in the 2012 only kikuyu votes are enough to give Uhuru Kenyatta enough number to make him number one in presidential election even if Raila or Mudavadi are in the race or not.

You assumption are good. And I see things going that way, If Raila thinks that the cntral mafia are sleeping let him sleep.
Whatever card he is playing. He may become the greatest looser. Even a captail has to tell his foot soldiers the game plan so that they do not play an individual game. I think he is relying on the soldeirs who were interested in securing for themselves some positions and not to deliver, what the central province people are doing is playing the politics, Martha Karua has already done so, The stupid Mutula is also put it clear, the draconian hypocrite Mr.handsome is also proovinh his hypocrisy.
However the game is still open, for Raila to show his master game plan. The IDP is still an issue,
But with Jimmy, i will wait to see if he will sign the title deeds.
There are two things that ODM must do and do it early. 1st delink a vote of no confidence from dissolution of the parliament, separate the state from the government.
Make sure the provincial and district heads are elected rather than appointed.
Bring avote to dissolve the ECK and reconstitute it.
Finally increase the CDF figures.
I couldn’t have agreed more with your analysis. It’s true it’s tough times for Raila in particular and ODM in general. Moi has never forgiven Raila and Kibaki will make sure that he is damaged good once and for all. These two combined are a danger to Raila’s political survival.
The aim now, is to leave PM with a shell called ODM without numbers. Kenya being what we know it to be, It’s difficult even. to count on the loyalty of the some ODM Ministers. Sad as it may sound, it renders our politics futile and a childs play like, to an extent that effecting real change becomes such an impossible task.
What our leaders luck is conviction politics, they are not aware why they are in it. I believe to the majority it’s just a meal ticket and they are available for sale to the highest bidder, in that case, how can Raila or for that matter ODM party compete with people, in position of state looted wealth!
Personally I give up on our politics. But as you said, ODM needs to drive Majombi agenda quickly, constitutional reform must be pushed hard and fast. So that every MP who felt left out can claim, premiership of their homelands-you know, every MP in Kenya sees him/herself as made of ministerial stuff.
