If you look at the conglomeration of those fighting the land clause in the KATIBA, it is a mix of land grabbers from independence and the way to date. They have coalesced to fight hard for what they stole, the majority of them are those who served under Moi who benefited from public land such as forests being dished out to them. Others acquired such land by displacing other Kenyans from their ancestral lands soon after independence.
The good thing is that the squatters of this country will not let them get away with it another time, they stole with abandon soon after independence, they grabbed some more in the 70s, 80s, 90s and now want to defeat the constitution so that they can have another chance of continuing the “land for a few policy”.
There is plenty of land in Kenya and this draft KATIBA is going to ensure we solve such historical crimes and injustices and ensure land is not held by a few thieves at the expense of the majority of Kenyans, who happen to rely of farming.
It beats every logic for one man to own land equal to a whole Province, leave it idle for decades just for speculation. This in itself is a serious crime against humanity in a country where people die of hunger every year considering that such land was stole in the first place!!!!.
The squatters of this land will not let them get away with it this time, the reason all well meaning Kenyans must vote for the draft to resolve such land problems that pit squatter against squatter while the real thieves own tracks they cannot use in this life and the next 10 lives.
