what else does kibaki want from Raila?

And Njonjo said “Raila has graciously conceded that Kibaki is Head of State and Head of Government.

It behooves the President to reciprocate that gesture by ensuring the

Prime Minister, if not on equal footing to him, is second to him in precedence,”

Ladies and gentlemen the writing is on the wall and it is not only Railamania like me who sees it. It is visible to all including the blind. If Raila and co don’t see it , I would say they are blind but that conclusion would be naive on my part.

Just why Kibaki thinks that Raila don’t see through his activities in the presence of his words baffles me. Kibaki must have assumed that Raila is so overwhelmed with the desire to have power that he ends up being blind folded about his future and that of his own family leave alone the luos and those who voted for him.

I am upset that such an intellectual should be taken for granted or that another intellectual should ignore the writing on the wall. While I want to believe that one intellectual has been taken for granted, it is impossible for me to believe that the other intellectual has never preconceived the Kenyan predicament in the light of the now.

In my days in the University, I used to believe the hearsays that Raila is a rogue, power hungry and blinded by excess praise. However, the light has signed on me.

In the presence of the immense support the son of Odinga enjoy right now, what else can he give. If I was Odinga, I would declare myself Tosha and see which direction Kibaki takes.

How dare Kibaki compare Raila with Kalonzo. How dare he take him so much for granted. And how dare Raila take this bending backwards.

Well that is why so many ODM supporters were not very happy with the way the coalition government was formed and the protracted negotiations that threatened to return the country spiralling back. I am still of the opinion that you cannot trust the PNU people. Judging byt the comments made by Hon. Karua and Hon. Kilonzo. they categorically said that the PM position is No. 3 and the former further added that Raila has no role in Parliament. Remember they were amongst the PNU negotiators. What do we read from their public utterances that were made from a stand-point of professional and priviledged knowledege base don their positions in the Negotiationa Talks.

This country is still very far from healing and some people have began to belive that the PNU side are now busy marshalling support from the ODM MPs who were not appoinyted int he cabinet. That is plausible judging from the utterances of Hon. Namwamba and company. The Grand Opposition is just a stepping-stone to fighting the PM and not the ODM as such. They are bent on demoralising the PM to the point that they hope he will trip and do something abominable that they will be able to capitalise on and finish him politically or even physically, once and for all.

I wish our people (ODM) could read between the lines and see through this outfit.

I could smell unbridled anger in you my brother. Honestly I consider this a small matter. An office is as powerful as the person who holds it. I guess you must have worked in position of authority at some stage in your life. corporate politics: example undermined may be, because of your ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation. However it’s normally the personality you take with you into your job that seperates you from your peers!

Raila is such a forceful character with massive good will both within and without, and therefore with time, I guess Kalonzo will find himself getting embrassed, when his second peck is overlooked in some important quarters.

Raila on the other hand should not loss sleep over pecking what?!! who cares really! The son of Jaramogi must do what he can do best, keep an eye on the vultures who have been feeding gluttonously on our national steak without a break. If it happens that this coalition last it’s full life no one will ask, about pecking shit! they’ll want to know what Raila delivered. My guess is, I believe as good as many of my friends here, that, this coalition is a temporary bandage, that no sooner the wound heals will be discarded into an incinerator.

Raila must keep his eyes on the ball always, who matters in Kenya not Kalonzo or Kibaki or even Raila but the voters, so long as you are on the voters side, power is with you.

My simple message is, the only number one between these trio, will be the one who addresses the plight of the poor Kenyans. Mathare, Kibera, Kawangware slums etc. Even government employees are living in worse conditions than Kibera slums-prison wardens.

Kibaki must be enjoying the pecking rift between his appointed number two and a the constitutional Primes Minister, I wonder whose beak is sharper! come on they should stop being chickens, they make, a below average leader, look more presidential than he really is.

There is alot of work to be done, Prime Ministers in/out baskets must be full by now for him to worry about Kalonzo let alone Kibaki. I have high hopes for my country that once in our lifetime there could be real change, and my prayer is that, I am not let down or this is just another false dawn as usual in our political history? Time will tell.

I think Raila made a mistake of accepting Kibaki as the President when Kenyans had rejected him at the ballot. Kibaki still speaks the words ‘my governement” when addressing a agthering. It is insulting. I think this power sharing thing should end immediately and we go back to the Polls. We are tired of being Kikuyunized. Until when!!!!!!

I absolutely concur with Barrack Abonyo on this. To supplement to this thought, ODM as a whole and in Particular should begin to present a different image from the one that PNU is bringing on board to this GCG. We have to stay above the pettiness and trivialities that is characteristic of PNU/ODM-K alliance. The law is quite clear on the position of PM and President. Both have a 50-50 executive ppwer on this GCG. The VP is not in the equation. The question is if the PM is junior to VP then why didn’t Kibaki continue to run the government before the signing of the National Accord? and to take it a little further than that, why didn’t Kibaki call upon Kalonzo or whoever he wanted to be his VP, if he had won the elections, to sign the Accord?

There is no cause for alarm. The thought process is for a defeatist lot and ODM must steer clear from PNU’s narrow thinking.

God Bless ODM God bless Kenya!
