KENYA: GWASI MP KICKS AND PUNCHES YOUTH

From: ODIPO

Just imagine!

Can you believe it that Gwasi MP Kicks and punches a youth then goes a head to block the issuing of P3 form through OCPD?

This is un-believable did you hear this?

On Saturday 5th June 2010 .Hon John Mbadi the MP for Gwasi attacked youths ( Fred seko and Ouko Orwa) at his constituencies wounding ouko orwa seriously just because the youths hold different opinion from his. The youths does not support him. The problem is that they cannot receive treatment as the police Department can not issue a p3 form.

This is impunity of the highest order If an MP and his body guards can decent on innocent youth for not supporting him. When will impunity stop in this country?

Can someone give us Police Commissioners Iteere’s number? to explain why Police at Magunga- Suba District cannot issue this young man with the relevant forms so that he can seek treatment?

Concerned indeed!!

Those were goons hired to cause trouble after being bribed with changaa.Mbadi gave them a good dose. The youths should make themselves economically productive instead of heckling people in funerals.

  2. onyango-ouma

Tell the young men to go to hospital. one doesnot needa P3 form in oder to be treated.

  3. Rubus

LOOK HERE: you dont need a p3 form to seek treatment. Actually what you should do is to seek treatments while the injuries are still fresh, let the doctor examine and note down the extent of the injuries (and keep receipts of all charges paid, including medications bought and transportation to hospital). when you eventually get a p3 form completed, you can follow up the cases from there

    Dear Odipo,
Let the mp know that this are not the days of Kanu whereby they did what they want and got away with.

The matter should be followed to the end, whether to put it on the newspaper so that the news reach the police commissioner let it be.

    Raphael.

  5. nyagilo

Please fred seko and ouko orwa you should give mbadi his humble time to serve gwassi people sincer he defeated your favourite mp.what i usualy know is that if one defeates you ,you either join him or keepoff his afaires to avoid such embarasment.it also seem as if the writer is also part of intimidating afairs.
to the writer. stop giving us a negertive picture of hate of seko and orwa against our mp.

  6. Tikli wuo Sangla

Without getting into the details of the case, the police should issue P3 form and the victim treated as they also investigate the case.

Those of us who know Mbadi well would easily believe the story. He is capable of being very crude, violent and daring to do things which even mad people cannot do.

Jo Gwassi ayuago u. kata kamano yiero en maru.

  7. Tikli wuo Sangla

Whether Seko and his friend were hired or not is besides the point. Whether they heckled or not is is not the issue being raised. The issue being raised is that nn MP or his body guards kicking and any one of us ahould not take law into his own hands.

Somepeople are complaining here as victims of violent behavior of the MP besides being denied to register their complaints. Indeed that seems to be the reason they are using this forum.

Those of us who have read the complaints have no basis to judge. In the interest of justice, we can only put pressure on the police to do their job properly.

What we know is that it is not the first time constituents perceived not to be in support of the sitting MP are complaining about harrassment by the bodyguards at his behest.

Ken Onyango and his likes should know that it is not part of an MPs job to physically fight ‘hecklers’. he should also know that violence begets violence and he should not sow such kind of seeds in Gwassi. Let the MP not provoke those who do not support him. I did not, does not and will never support him. MBADI IS NOT THE FIRST AND HE WILL NOT BE THE LAST MP FOR GWASSI.

An Elder like Hon. Nyakiamo served with dignity and young people like Mbadi are lucky he is still alive. Let him pick an idea or two how to ‘RITO TELO’. There are also many elders in Gwassi who can put sense into Mbadi and the young politicians. Let them not behave as if Gwassi is devoid of elders.

The only way to win those who do not support him is to do his job well and thoroughly so. He can only do that through consultations, inclusivism representation and respect for each and every constituent.

  8. Pengle

heckling politicians at funerals is a thing of the past and not only at funerals but anywhere, Mbadi is not mad to attack somebody only because of holding a different opinion from his… I share nyagilo’s sentiments….”Give Mbadi a chance to serve his people!” everybody had his opportunity to vie and those who took it met him and fell by his might

  9. Otieno Jaligongo

Without supporting heckling, you expect that at times you get heckled especially when you are a politician dealing with all sorts of personalities. If you happen to be heckled, search your soul why you are being heckled. DO NOT BEHAVE LIKE KALONZO MUSYOKA WHO OVER REACTED TO HECKLING AND WRONGLY BLAMED PEOPLE HE THOUGHT ARE HIS POLITICAL OPPONENTS.

Mbadi surely cannot blame people who heckle him at funerals for the POOR PERFORMANCE HE HAS EXHIBITED IN THE PAST TWO AND HALF YEARS. HE IS AN MP BECAUSE he beat other contestants and he has all at his disposal to discharge his duties and should not blame those he beat. THE ONLY WAY HE CAN CONTINUE BEATING THEM IS TO BEHAVE IN A CIVILIZED MANNER, REPRESENT ALL CONSTITUENTS INCLUDING THE PERCEIVED POLITICAL ‘OPPONENTS’ WITHOUT FEAR OR FAVOUR.

Lastly, Mbadi and people like Pengle should not take the people of Gwassi to be morons. Isn’t it the same Mbadi who almost got physical with a former MP who is a senior to him in all respects? Does he want to blame the former MP for his lucklusture performance? Does he want to blame Ongoro? Is he blaming Caroli? Is he blaming Mboya or is he blaming Ouma?

Bw. Pengle, tell Mbadi that your argument and his leadership just like your name suggests has fallen apart. Instead of sending you to present hollow defense of his barbarism, advise him to consult elders and other professionals and his image would improve. He needs a positive image even after being an MP.

I stand firm with the opinions of Tikli and other constituents. Mbadi should just start planning to do other things after 2012. We were mistaken to believe he would inject fresh ideas in the constituency but we are mistaken.

  10. John Sidho

An MP does not have inherent might to fell others. That is an insult of the electorate. It is only by choice of the electorate that one becomes an MP.

An MP is not elected to attack those who heckle him. Even if drunkards misbehave, he has no mandate to manhandle them.

If an MP sees drunkards and hecklers as threats to carrying out his mandate, than such an MP is mistaken.

  11. Yogo Mlanya

I have always opposed this issue of bringing politics at funerals.People have turned burial ceremonies into political rallies copletely ignoring the pain the bereaved family members have to bear during such ocassions.Funerals were sombre ocassions where there would only be euology and a small speech by a representative of the Provimcial Administration but these days the line between a political rally and a funeral is very thin just that in the latter we have a body for burial.

  12. nyagilo

Bwana in the first place hecling is not the right procedure of convaying mesages. we in suba are not willed animals that could only produce wantone and destructive sounds due to distort our ears in the name hecling na mp.soon nema will courch up with those heclers.such things could even breache piece even between the surpters off that mp and the heclass and may also cause damage and loss to the breaved farmily.
So somebody surpoting goons has no plase in the current SUBA(GWASSI CONSTITUENCY)it was a thing of the past during their cronees`time that elapsed long before.it is better we pull together for a genwine purpose and give our leaders time to work.
OF several ocations we have been deseived of who is good and who is bad and in the long run we find ourself to be the loosers while few cronie who forms achell around their prey gain very litle of their selfish needs.
ALL IN ALL EVEN THE TWo KATIBAS ;THE CURRENT AND THE DRAFT ONE ONLY ALOWES FREEDOM BUT NOT TO AN EXTENT OF DEPRIVING SOMEBODY OF HIS RIGHTS.(you hecle one you deprive him of his right.)

  13. John Sidho

The more you try to whitewash the MP, the dirtier it looks. Heckling is bad, idling is bad, changaa drinking is bad and we all agreed but why would a whole MP reduce himself to the level of hecklers, chang’aa drinkers and idlers by getting physical with them? This is our question Nyagilo.

Your MP should also know that any public function in his constituency is not ‘his’ the way some of you are trying to tell us. A funeral, funraiser or such other functions are not exclusive private functions and anybody is free to join other constituents in such other communal functions attending such functions do not constitute infringement on the MPs rights.

In addition to a few other truths, WE HAVE LEARNT THAT YOUR MP GETS INCENSED WHEN PEOPLE WHO CONTESTED WITH HIM THE GWASSI SEAT ATTEND PUBLIC FUNCTIONS IN GWASSI. HE GETS MAD AND LOOSES HIS SENSES WHEN THE PUBLIC AUDIENCES CHEER SUCH PEOPLE. Nyagilo, don’t you think that is retrogressive and selfish?

Indeed my advice to some of the contestants is: DO NOT TAKE THE INCIDENCE REPORTED HERE LIGHTLY. IT APPEARS AN INCIDENCE FOR TESTING WATERS ON APPLYING VIOLENCE ON YOU. BE EXTRA VIGILANT ABOUT YOUR SECURITIES AND THOSE OF YOUR CLOSE SUPPORTERS.

  14. Jitolee Magunga

Gwassi constituency is owned by the constituents. Neither Mbadi nor his father nor mother nor clan own the constituency exclusively. Let him not bring to us backdated thinking based on myopic clannism and nepotism. Nyagilo can go tell him that he shall pay a very heavy political price for threatening any constituent. We know he has been cursing and swearing to do all he can to finish one Gwassi politician before 2012.

  15. Jamagunga

It has ever been experienced in many constituecies that whatever a leader does to his constituents becomes his printed legacy either at his or her retirement or exit, whichever comes first.

A leader’s humbleness & true maturity are seen in the minds like sign boards by the future generation.

A leader’s childish strange reactions to druncards, hecklers & begers potrays a true picture of ones charactors like shown by Gwassi MP. These behavious are transferable to your immediate family and therefore supreses future leadership inheritence as it is famously said “Nyathi thuol en thuol”, although yourself you might be currently contented.

I hope Gwassi Mp Hon. Mbadi is not headed towads the dirrections taken before by popularly known MPs in other constituencies but for bad reasons. This is the second time we are hearing about such major asaults by the Mp in a term & i humbly request my fellow readers to join hands in prayers so that the worst to the next constituent is diverted & the new constitution put in place to eradicate injustices and impunity.

  16. Polo Mirema

I know Hon. John Mbadi Kang’ongo back from our days at the University of Nairobi. He used to be Chairman of SOLK and when he was elected a member of parliament by the people of Gwassi, I got dismayed and asked myself if the people of Gwasi lacked people of substance to represent him. Please try someone else come 2012. Pleeease.

  17. Suleiman Wasuba

Was it a different Mbadi who was an accomplice in looting Chuna SACCo. People of Gwassi, you reap what you sow. You should therefore not complain after sowing tares instead of wheat. for now, it is spilt milk, this is simply a lost term for you.

However, you should start preparing land to sow wheta in 2012. How? start by all of you voting YES in the referandum then start to scout for the next MP immediately after referundum.

  18. Henry Ogonda

MBADI, THE MAN-MP FOR GWASSI HAS ALSO BEEN IN THE FOREFRONT FIGHTING AGAINST TAXATION OF MPS’ SALARIES AND FOR UNREASONABLE INCREMENT OF THE SAME SALARIES. IF YOU SAY GWASSI IS ONE OF THE POOREST CONTITUENCIES, THEN THE MP HAS NO INTEREST OF THE CONSTITUENCY AT HIS HEART. THE WEEDING OUT OF NON-PERFORMING MPS FROM NYANZA HAS STARTED IN ERNEST AND WE URGE ALL TO JOIN HANDS IN ENSURING WE HAVE MATURE POLITICAL LEADERSHIP IN OUR CONSTITUENCIES

  19. K'Obwanga jaNyandiwa

Just but today Mbadi has created laughter and a lot of humour which is quite a lot annoying. Mbunge was in a YES rally in a place called Nyandiwa in his constituency when a constituent wnated to know the impact of CDF in the constituency, and his reply was and I quote “Ager godo od meru kor ka ine ni otiyo” Yawa how can Mbunge utter such kinds of words in the public domain. Gwassi we made a very great mistake by voting in this guy, lets vote YES kwanza but I shall be calling everyone to the drawing board and we plan the 2012…..

  20. Wuod Kogore-Magunga

I know Fred Seko and Ouko very well with their dirty politics and lack of respect to leaders, they deserve more than that. Fred and Ouko should be productive people of the society, in stead of wasting time in Magunga stage they should engage in something, even planting tomatoes in Nyaburu in stead of being lazy

  21. Cheka Nilie

Wuod Kogore, what you are saying is exctly what the MP should have said to them. Fred and Ouko being ‘unproductive’ is not an excuse for Mbadi to go physical on them. The fact that yout are not productively engaged at a time when CDF funds are controlled at the local level by the MPs and his cronies is a pointer that a lot still need to be done to revolutionize leadership in Gwassi. I for one does not know who Fred or Ouko is but I know Mbadi because he is our MP and his behaviour is wanting. Without getting details of the incidence, I know he is capable of being very unruly.

    ‘You lough, I cry’

  22. JuJu wuo Juju

WE URU KETHO NWA SAA JOGWASSI. UN EMANE UYIERO JAOTE MARU. WICH LIECH KA OSEBODO MAPEK TO CHUR URU KODE. KA URIEK TO OWITE MABOR WIYU OWIL KODE KAR KETHO SAA.

  23. Egase wa Egase

Some people think this is a laughing matter. It is not!!!! You do not need to take your MP to police the way some are trying to taunt you in this forum. You do not need to take your MP to a Kenyan coat even if on the wrong. If you have an hospital bill arising out of that incident, call for an harambee.

You need to stand against sham nominations in 2012 and use your vote wisely. We have seen some blaspheming God to be the source of poor leadership in Gwassi and Luo Nyanza. SHETANI ASHINDWE KABISA! Yes God chooses leaders but not to behave like hooligans.

One commentator had said before, the more the attempt to whitewash the incident, the more it would haunt the MP.

  24. Ondengi Nyang'

Sure, attempts to defend the indefendable would make the blame string longer and longer and it will stretch until ‘debe time’ in 2012. You guys need to strategize properly for 2012 ne ‘debe ipigwe mpaka nyawawa wa Nyanza politics wapotee peponi’. I also say, ‘SHETANI ASHINDWA TENA’. Tuko nyuma ya Raila lakini atuchie tuwatupe hao mashatani mbali kabisa. Tutampea wanasiasa chipukizi 2012.

  25. Faith Wadeya

Did George Mboya tell Mbadi to attack the youth or did he tell the youth to ask Mbadi to ‘release them’?

If George Mboya was involved , why has Mbadi not faced him directly? Did George Mboya instruct Mbadi to attack Nyauchi or insult Caroli besides the many he has insulted using unprintable words for asking about CDF accountability?

Can the so called Shauri Yako publish the facts of George Mboya’s involvement in Mbadi’s delinquent behavior?

Women of Gwassi are not fools and we are not going to entertain those who use the vulnerability of women to protect their impunity

  26. kus kus

I have seen a foolish attempt at scapegoating by Mbadi cohorts. How does George Mboya come into his immature behavior????We know Mbadi to be an MP who listens, does not take advises from serious people, and even if his cohorts wanted Mboya to coach him on how to handle drunkards and hecklers, he shall not benefit from such coaching. I therefore see no reason of dragging George Mboya’s name in Mbadi’s failed leadership.

  27. Samo Kiwa

Mbadi’s failed leadership is his own making. Let him not send people to blame the innocent. We know the good reception George Mboya is receiving from the constituents is giving Mbadi sleepless nights. Mbadi was given a chance that he has squandered and let him blame nobody.

  28. aloo

i do congratulate the action the mp took. some people issue abusive words to our leaders. first view the leader as a person the-after the leadership. as a person the mp got annoyed. one cannot fix an mp in a corner expecting him to let you go free. i wish i were there i would hve told Fred seko and Ouko Orwa the skills for successful begging. otherwise let the two find proper means of getting food. GONYO will kill them

  29. Michael

Both sides may have a point as i read above. But Mbadi has failed the integrity test for being the loudest anti-taxation MP. and he should pay for the same. he has failed performance test because of the results on the CDF use. We t MOPA (Movement for Political Accountability) believe the people of Gwassi need to send him home. what the people, especially young people of Gwassi need is to organize and mobilize for positive change. but true change cant come if we always demand to be ‘set free’ (culture of ‘Gonywa!’). Let the youth organize along real issues and not trivialities. often we fight each other on behalf of these fools called politicians, but they know youth are myopic and cheap. to all contributors in this forum above, i ask you, what are u doing about the future of Gwassi? are u organizing for positive change or organizing along the culture of ‘Gonywa.’ At MOPA, we Empower, Support and Accompany communities to demand accountability and good leadership as a right. email us at admin@africog.org

  30. Faulu Suba

Aloo’s comment is stale and stinking. Kwere uru owe tho wuoyo kamano. O kongrachulet dhier ma omako wa Gwassi ni koso ang’o.

  31. KENNEDY MARIENGA

The MP is a very intelligent person who can not jump into actions as the writer claims. An arrogant question needs an arrogant answer(dawa ya moto ni moto). You do not expect to abuse a leader in public and escape safely. It is Mbadi’s time, let him serve the constituency in peace.

  32. Faulu Suba

Whatever you mean by inteligence Kennedy but an MP going physical on people he calls idle youth is not socially intelligent. Look at how he is now handling the ODM elections. An intelligent person does not force himself on the electorate. by throwing tantrums that he was not elected as ODM representative, he attracted the wrath of the people then by trying to overturn the people’s will, he ends up loosing the little support and sympathy he still had.

  33. Ja Ligongo

Mbadi is my neighbour and certainly a clever fool. He thinks he is clever but voters are cleverer. The role of an MP is to reduce idleness not physically assaulting idlers. He has failed as a leader and must be shown the door. He fought Mama Conslata Yambo, an aspirant in 2002; beat Hon Nyauchi, former MP; has been busy talking ill of Caroli Omondi, Raila’s aide and Rateng Mayom, an aspirant. Recently held Sila Ojala by the collar and beat Ouko Orwa and Freddie. Kwani hawa watu wote ni idlers. I can gurantee that next time he tries this, he will be whitewashed – Thoroughly dhupped.

  34. KENNEDY MARIENGA

Please, Ja Ligongo, how can you write the same article you wrote in 2010 again in 2012? Don’t you have something else to talk about? If so, it means the MP has done it well hence you have nothing else to point out. Appreciate what Mbadi is doing in parliament. As an advise to you, watch KBC for live parliament proceedings.

  35. Faulu Suba

Mbadi was at it again at the burial ceremony of Mzee Ben Masara. He was scheduled to speak last and preside of the harambee. but out of fear that he could be locked out from addressing the mourners, Mbadi grabbed the microphone from Mrs. Rose Onyuka before his turn before intoxicated goons who were hired by his PA disrupted the ceremony.

  36. WuodMagunga

I know Ouko Orwa and Fred Seko very well; in fact, they are even my relatives. Hon. Mbadi may be wrong, but what I know for sure, Ouko and Fred Seko need discipline. They don’t have respect for leaders. I can remeber very well in 2005 referendum campaign how they caused chaos in Magunga while trying interefe with Orange rally organized by Nyanza members of Parliament. Ouko Orwa and Fred Seko need a perfect discipline more than that. Ultimately, those guys should be productive members of the society. You can’t sit in Magunga stage from morning to evening thinking of politics and alcohol. They should even plant some vegetables and tomatoes in Nyaburu and Chabichabi valleys. Ouko and Fred, please, respect the leaders and the elderly. POD IBI RODHU MANGENY KA OK UNYAL LOKORU.

  37. Faulu Suba

Wuod Magunga, my layman’s advise to you is: “tang’ ka pok IRODHO ng’ato next time”. Please consult a lawyer to explain it to you in a better way. The law is very clear. You cannot take the law into your hands and it is criminal to dispense mob justice. Only the judiciary can dispense justice in Kenya. Even the police is not allowed to determine punishment. If the MP is wronged, there are legal avenues to handle people who have wronged him. I saw a clip of Mbidi grabbing a mic at a funeral and mayhem followed. I assure you, you will soon see people being penalised for such crimes.

  38. WuodMagunga

I want to tell you Faulu Suba that Ouko Orwa and Fred Seko need more discipline more than that. Do you know that “GOCHO MALIT TIEKO FUWO”?

  39. Faulu Suba

Wuod Magunga, what you think is applicable to others is what will be applied on you. KA GOCHO E MATIEKO FUWO, TO KARE GOCHO MALIT BIRO TIEKO FUWO MAR MBADI GI MARI NO.

  40. WuodMagunga

It can’t be applicable to me if I am not among the “fuwo” people who need “gocho mondo fuwo orum.” Hon. John Mbadi is also not among the “joma ofuwo”; therefore, GOCHO MALIT MATIEKO FUWO can neither be applied to my member of parliament nor me. That is what I can tell you Faulu Suba. JOMA OFUWO NENORE ANENA. And let me tell you that I running for Gwassi parliamentary seat in 2017, and I wanna bring real changes to my beloved constituency and Kenya as a whole because I am not among the “JOMA OFUWO”.

  41. Ja Ligongo

Ka inyiso u to ok udwa winjo. Apal kos athal ma lwar e lemb mjumbe sitend mar winyo ni kech tho wuoyo awuoya. What goes around comes around. Ka gocho e matieko fuwo to aneno athal gi biro bet mathoth.

  42. Omondi Onyango V

Ouko needs special treatment and by that let’s give him time BT if he is not serious then let 2017 comes?
