Kenya: HE the President takes personal charge

In the company of my younger brother, we met His Excellency the President early Sunday morning at his offices.

On arrival, and as we were being ushered to the waiting room, we met with His Excellency who upon exchange of pleasantries, told us to wait for him shortly. On coming back to his office, he promptly invited me in.

Like old friends, we chatted briefly before I extended my invitation to him to launch a nationwide clean up campaign that will rid our major towns of garbage and filth on the 18th December 2010.

He told me that he would be having a youth function on the date at Soweto in Kayole and that because Komarock borders Kayole, that can be arranged. He personally took me to his officer who handles environmental matters, Mr. Michuki and asked him to make the arrangements.

We went back with him to his office and I collected my papers. As I rose to bid him bye, I realized 2 things;

· That His Excellency the President has an open door policy to handling matters of state

· And that I was actually still in bed at 8.27am Sunday 20th June 2010.

How I wish all this could have been true. Nairobi is choking under the weight of garbage carelessly disposed at every corner in our estates.

Peace and blessings,
