Dear Countrymen,

I would like to challenge the western region radio stations to seriously reconsider their programmatic agenda and content as it is constituted presently.

Entertainment is a good thing and we all need it at some point or other. However, it is becoming apparent that devoid of the political experience that has diminished significantly following the formation of the Grand Coalition Government, our regional radio stations seem to have lost their track and are ending up as dating services and promoting of promiscuous platitudes. It is leaving a hollowness that may prove counter productive.

Am referring to BALANCE here.

There is also the element of using the same media to stir up negative sentiments within the community and this in essence undermines harmony and peaceful co-existence within the region.

I would like our radio stations to carefully study the programmatic focus of radio stations in Central province and they will be able to realise the stark differences.

We must redefine our broadcasting agenda and take on a degree of seriousness and commitment to those ideals that will improve the lives of our people. And above all, let there be a high level of integrity and professionalism.

Things have changed and we should not deteriorate but rather evolve and remain in step with the developmental social ideals and economic agenda of our region.

Let us focus on the beneficial. Leisure will always be here and we do not really need to promote it. We already have enough health challenges relating to the same as a matter of fact.
