NOTICE FOR SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING

All members of the Kenya Veterinary Association are invited to a Special General Meeting to be held at Indian Ocean Beach Hotel, South Coast Mombasa on Monday 27th September, 2010.

Time: 2.30 P.M

Agenda:

1. Brief on the New Constitution of Kenya and how the Animal Resource Industry shall be affected.

2. Legal and Policy Environment in Kenya

3. Resolutions on Way Forward for the sector

Other Information:

· There shall be an International Rabies Day celebrated on the 28th September, 2010 through several field day activities in Kwale District where animals will receive free anti-rabies vaccination and the Public Sensitized on risks of Rabies

· We shall host a Rabies Scientific Conference on 27th September 2010 where keynote presentations will be made by subject matter specialists during the morning session at Indian Ocean Beach Hotel.

Conference Registration for Members Ksh.2,000/=

Non – Members Ksh.3,000/=

Transport available for the first 100 members to register early

    Dr.Chris Wanga,our CVA councillor from Kenya must have informed you about our forthcoming Pan Commonwealth Veterinary Conference in Accra,Ghana in March 2011 where there will be a full one day session on Rabies organized by OIE.ARC.WHO and FAO.

    I request you kindly to inform the speakers at your programme about this and request them to contact me if they are interested in presenting papers at the conference.I shall then inform Prof.Gareth Bath Chairman of the Scientific Committee.
