Uganda: Museveni, a peace maker or a trouble maker?

By Douglas O. Majwala.

I have a concern about trend of affairs in the EAC more especially with regard to political integration in the future. One thing is latent in would be leadership of this unification, and this involves H.E. Lt. Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the President of the Republic of Uganda. All signs are that Museveni is on a blueprint to become the first king of this sub-continent. He is determined and is on a drawing board and is not even known whether others watch this carefully.

Museveni a once guerrilla combatant could have only feared celebrity like the late Mwl. Nyerere who had the guts to silence and reduce to nothing [low profile] those who wanted to rise through barbaric means that could have tarnished the image of independent Africa and destabilize her peace, tranguility and progress.

Recent geological expert reports of Uganda’s affluence in liquid gold [oil] makes Museveni heady and has reportedly started importing heavy duty ultra-modern air fighters for unknown ends and that which even the neighbours bother not to be vigilant about the project.

Museveni’s trait is beyond tolerance. In no way he would convince any reasonable mind that he is serene whilst the world has entered him in its record of war loving lots and has vowed to remain alert and cautious of him considering his questionable international relations. He has ever had soured diplomatic ties with his neighbours with whom he is trying to form an integration [EAC] e.g. Rwanda, DRC, Kenya, Southern Sudan let alone his own people LRA and the recent Buganda Kingdom poor relationship with his government which does not qualify him to be a truely peoples’ leader [he is a least peace maker but more of a trouble maker].

The bully Museveni is dreaming and determined to become an East African superpower at a time when his colleagues in the intergration easily let this go without questioning it for their own individual countries destiny.

EAC should have carried aloft the security agenda for her lasting peace. Late Mwl. Nyerere once said “Tanzania will not consider itself free if other African countries are still tormenting in the yoke of colonialism”. Likewise EAC should follow Mwl’s philosophy by not considering itself a community if other colleagues / comrades are still agonized by LRA, INTERAHAMWE and possibly Somali invasion in north eastern Kenya and some parts of wealthy Tanzania.

Rorya Tanzania.

YOWERI MJUSEVENI AND THE POLITICS OF THE AFRICAN GREAT LAKES

October 2007 Yoweri Museveni met President George Walker Bush to convince the latter of the the apparent dangers facings the great lakes region if Raila Amolo Odinga became Kenya’s president. Later Ranneberger, American Ambassador recognized Mwai Kibaki win notwithstanding the fact that the elections were obviously rigged by PNU in his active doggedly presence at the KICC, Nairobi prior to and at the time of presidential vote tallying.

Within minutes of announcing the infamous results Kenya police and Museveni soldiers were shooting and killing innocent demonstrating democratic supporters of one Raila Amolo Odinga in Nairobi, Nyanza, Western and Rift Valley provinces. Soon young vigilantes in Western Province arrested a Ugandan bus loaded with soldiers and Ugandan military uniforms heading for Kitale and Eldoret. Their task in the Rift Valley Province was best known to Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

For years in the recent past Museveni forces sent millions of DRC citizens to their early graves just in case Uganda annexed the DRC KIVU province and his soldiers actively looted the minerals from a country God endowed with more minerals than most countries.

Museveni soldiers in Somalia are there to hoodwink the world that he is a peacemaker as he prepares to take over the Great Lakes Region and create an empire serving his selfish greed. Make no mistake! He fooled President George Walker Bush and Kenya soon headed for the PEV! He will do it again given the chance. He has tried Kenya and EAC over his annexing of Migingo Island and found the leaders weak or not interested. This could have emboldened him to head for the achievement of his evil imperial ambitions in Est African Region.

”Beware the Ides of March” is my advice to the world with regards to Yoweri Kaguta Musdeveni.

YAGDESH DVANI AND THE TRITON SCANDAL

Is it true that Yagdesh Devani has challenged the Kenyan government to go for him?

Text in the Star newspaper today 1st May, 2010 states inter alia ”I will topple government”, warns defiant Devani in UK.

Are we so compromised that we can be threatened by this guy whose nephew owns both British and Kenyan passports, the man who has been accused of having stolen more than 7 billion through shady deals- ”The Triton Scandal” of yesteryear.

Where does our patriotism lie in a case like this one?

He goes on thus: ”If I am arrested, I will take down the government and a lot of people with me. They know where I am. Why don.t they come and get me?”

The man is bragging boisterously! Is there something he knows that we Kenyans do not know?

I am certain our government will soon close on him so that justice can be sen to be done.
