This is to confirm to all our friends that the inaugural KCDN Embakasi Peace Run will be held on 15th June 2008 in Embakasi.
There will be 5 races; 15km seniors, 8km men juniors, 6km women juniors, 3km masters for people above 40 years, and then we will have the symbolic peace run.
The races will be flagged of by the Commissioner of Sports Mr Gordon Oluoch, and the Director of Education, Nairobi City Council.
In attendance will be Mr John Ngugi, the legendry World Cross Country Champion, Ruth Waithera. Cosmas Ndeti and Paul Tergat might grace the occasion as well.
As we take part in this race, we want all participants to take cognizance of the fact that we all belong to Kenya, and that when we fight, it is our children that suffer the most.
We want this to act as a healing process in our pursuit of Peace, National Healing and Reconciliation.
