HEADS OF STATES FROM THE EAST AFRICAN COMMUNITY COUNTRIES TO CONVERGE IN ARUSHA FOR THE 10TH YEAR’S ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS OF ITS REBIRTH IN 1999.

News Analysis By Leo Odera Omolo In Kisumu City.

THE east African Community secretariat in Arusha last weekend released a tentative program of celebration festivities to mark the organization’s tenth year anniversary since its rebirth in 1999.

Five heads of states from the member states of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi, invited dignitaries, members of the diplomat corps, senior government officials from the five countries and eminent persons from across the globe will be in attendance.

A provisional program of activities to mark the 10th anniversary, whose clamor will be on November 29, 2009, was sent to all the media houses, both electronic and print across the region as well as to the correspondents and all radio and TV stations across the globe.

The highlights of the anniversary observance will be the EAC summit at the Sheikh Amani Abeid Karume Stadium in Arusha.

IT is then that the protocol on the establishment of the EAC Common Market will be signed by the EAC Heads of State.

The signing is significant, as the process towards attainment of the Monetary Union is gathering momentum. That day, heads of states of the five EAC member states – Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi –will also lay the foundation stone of the construction of the new ultra-modern EAC headquarters.

The anniversary climax will be proceeded by EAC’S 10th anniversary symposium, which will be held in Arusha on November 19-24,2009.

The symposium will bring together about 100 participants from governments, civil society, academia, business community and media in East Africa.

High level presenters will lead discussions on topics such as Pan Africanism and the challenges of EAC integration, and science and technology as strategic driver of EAC development.

Other topics are climate change and its implications on development in the EAC region; and the role of non-state actors in deepening EAC integration-all under the broad theme; ”EAC 10 YEARS of integration; One people one destiny.”

“The symposium will be an occasion for reflection, self-evaluation by others”, says the statement from Arusha based secretariat.

Proceedings of the symposium will be compiled and published in a book form.

Other key players and actors, including the EAC diplomatic missions abroad, will hold additional symposia of their own on topics of their own choice under the symposium’s broad theme.

The EAC Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency, for instance, will hold a symposium on the theme; ”Aviation-linking EAC and the world safely and efficiently”. This will be in Arusha on November 22 under the EAC 10th anniversary observance program. The inter-University Council of East Africa will also hold a separate symposium.

Winners of the inaugural East African Media Award Competition will be announced on November 20th,2009.

There will also be a special session of the East African Legislative Assembly on November 19. This session will feature debate on the achievements, challenges and prospects of the East African Community.

An EAC video documentary’s treatment and outline are being developed, including historical footage, selected project coverage, and interviews with Heads of the EAC organs and institutions and other stakeholders. The video will be ready during 2010.

A leading International broadcasting agency has also been engaged to produce a promotional and publicity video for the anniversary, that will include the main events of November 20th, 2009 for regional and worldwide dissemination.

The Ministries of EAC Affairs in the respective member states will produce and place promotional radio jingles and TV spots.

The anniversary marking 10 years since the signing of the Treaty for the Establishment of the East African Community in November 1999,aims at recording the achievement made so far.

It will showcase the EAC, recognize the roles and contributions of the key players and actors, and broad spectrum of the stakeholders in the EAC integration process.

In this way, it will encourage them to hasten integration in the next stage the EAC is moving into.

“Observance will be an opportunity for the EAC to identify the challenges faced during the first decade of operations. There will be sharp focus on EAC operations into the second decade {2010-2020} and on how the EAC is to reinvent itself in light of new challenges ahead”, said the statement by the Arusha secretariat.

The observance is also intended to stage a celebratory moment, considering that, while the first EAC, which was established in 1967 collapsed on its 10th anniversary in 1977, the new is resurgent, enlarged and full of promise 10 years on. The EAC exudes pride, good feeling and hope among the people of East Africa.

The signing of the East African Community Common Market Protocol, will be a milestone in the concentration and actualization of the community, a regional economic unit with a population, which is close to 120 million people.

Ends.

OF MAINA NJENGA AND THE BIG DECEPTION

From: mesh musyoki
Date: Mon, Oct 26, 2009 at 10:21 AM

Sorry good people i have been unable to contribute to debates as oftenly is i would want to.

This is my take on this Maina Njenga issue:-

Lets first accept that the gang has a following of around 2million youth as of a research that was carried on by a professor friend of mine recently. Most of these people are domiciled in urban areas with Nairobi having the largest number by virtue of it being the biggest town in Kenya and again most of them have run away from their native homes fearing a citizen onslaught witnessed in the recent past in several parts of central Kenya. That adequately explains why there was such a heavy presence of adherents to receive him around Tom Mboya ,Haille Sellasie area, its where most matatu terminals are situated. This is quite a following, the only problem is that it draws its following predominantly from the kikuyu youth and gema by extension. The biggest fundamental problem is that their quasi religious organization is based on shallow ideology and crude use of violence to force a thinking on people. Their calculation is that for you to colonize people you have to terrorize them first (beat them in to line). The big number of fresh recruits were actually willing partakers who were protesting against the post election violence meted on their relatives by a government that is headed by their tribesman and as yet provided no tangible protection for their kinsmen. This is when they managed to hit the one million member mark, just immediately after the post election violence. The real structure of the group is nothing that really has any good of the country at heart, is simply a quasi religious extortionist group capitalizing on terror to force extortion on us,period. That was the initial and still is the operational manual of the pseudo political entity that it is. I have followed keenly the story of Maina Njenga since his release and one thing i have noted is that he has not denounced the group, he has just been telling his fellow crooks to shun violence and convert to Christianity. Hasn’t told them to stop extortion or alternative taxation or engage in gainful enterprise.

Why he hasnt done that is because he is the chief beneficiary of their extortion activities in that the money flows like funnel. The guy at the stage gets 1000 per day, keeps 200, submits 800 to his regional coordinator, coordinator submits 600 to his boss who submits 400 to Maina’s Lieutenant then Maina gets 200 out of every day’s collection of each Mungiki extortionist. Now multiply that by a modest number of approximately 2000 extortionists and you get 400,000kenya shillings. Thats what the fellow gets from society per day. The same explains how he has been able to acquire a multi million property in Isinya and engage in commercial farming even when we all knew he was serving a jail term. Remember this is a different property from the one in Kitengela which is also multi million worth.

What he has done is that he had to re-invent himself so as to stay relevant on the national political front and that he did cleverly. JIAM is the only big church belonging to a mainstream politician and more so in ODM. So it was by calculation so as for him to serve as Raila’s link to the Kikuyu youth. Remember Margaret Wanjiru had traveled earlier to see him in jail? Its because they knew that with the affidavit he had sworn implicating senior PNU politicians was causing much heat in govt. so his release was imminent. They cleverly provided him with a soft landing and a grand reception so as to send amass message to his followers that their kinsmen don’t as much care about them so they can as well look elsewhere for leadership.

I hope ihave made apoint here, however,i stand to be corrected.

TANZANIA AT ODDS IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

From: Yona Fares Maro
Date: Wed, Sep 23, 2009 at 7:55 AM

Science and technology has made the world look more like something out of a fairy tale, but how many of those who now toy with all kinds of technological devices really do realize the wizardry of science and technology? As a young man growing up, I used to hear stories of witches and wizards, their magical powers and how they flew at night and used diabolical means to inflict harm on whoever they choose. Indeed some Tanzanian communities still routinely torture and even kill those accused of being witches or wizards.

But the ignorant beliefs and tales of witchcraft in primitive societies such as Tanzania pales in comparison to the real practical wizardry of science and technology. Many of us regularly employ the services of airplanes to fly to different destinations without ever pausing to ponder the wizardry of having such a large and heavy device flying effortlessly at unbelievable speeds for hours on end, with hundreds of passengers. Try throwing up your mobile phone or shoe as light as they are and see how fast it will fall and hit the ground.

If a mobile phone or shoe can hit the ground that fast, imagine the miracle in having an object as large and as heavy as an airplane with so many passengers, luggage’s and cargo hurtling through the sky like a giant bird and you will begin to better appreciate the wizardry of science and technology. Jump into the sea and you will sink before you can blink your eyes, but a large ship, loaded with container cargoes weighing hundreds of tons will sail the sea without sinking for weeks and months.

Science and technology has gone as far as probing other planets in search of human life. Imagine the space vessel or rocket that travels through space, breaking through the earth’s crust on its way to other planets. Imagine the breathless speed at which the rocket travels and the unending wizardry of science and technology becomes ever more evident. The revolution in the wizardry of science and technology has continued at a dizzying pace that it is becomingly increasingly difficult to catch up for many. Among the recent technologies is the GSM mobile phone technology that has made mobile phones practically available to all and sundry.

Another recent entry is the “email,” an electronic mail system that is delivered immediately to your electronic mailbox. This invention has kept friends and family in constant communication and almost eliminated the use of good old conventional letters. For academics and general research, the “Google” search engine, an electronic library has virtually put all possible information at the fingertips of every individual. From history to medicine, bomb making to love making, there is practically no information you cannot find on the Google library. Other electronic search engines such as Yahoo, MSN have since joined the bandwagon, further enriching the cyber world.

For drivers, life has been made much easier by “Satellite navigators,” an electronic device that locates addresses. With a Satellite navigation system, it is possible to trace routes and addresses that would ordinarily have been frustrating and time consuming to locate. For long lost friends and potential new friends, “Facebook” has become the new craze where old friends hook-up and new friends are made. Together with similar sites such as Twitter and Netlog, these highly interactive sites where photo albums, events and other activities are shared have virtually created a whole new world on the web.

Movie and music lovers, news and sports enthusiasts alike have come to cherish “YouTube,” an online video machine that amasses a limitless array of videos on practically every issue under the sun, keeping individuals glued to their screens for hours on end. The wizardry in these technologies goes far beyond the tales of the mythical exploits of witches and wizards I was told as a child. At the speed with which new technologies continue to be churned out, it numbs the mind to imagine what new innovation we are going to be toying with by this time next year.

Yet, even as we await new technologies and as nations across the world continue to make technological progress in leaps and bounds that has brought the many solutions and pleasures we now enjoy and even take for granted, Tanzania remains at odds with modernity. Still at the crossroads of civilization, it beggars belief that in spite of the solutions technology has provided, Tanzania has ironically edged Tanzania further into darkness, incapable of generating electricity. There are no proper roads, no pipe borne water, no functional hospitals to name but a few.

Any surprises? The criminal leaders that hibernate in The Bunge are more interested in robbing and wrecking the nation to be bothered about any investments in science and technology. As a consequence, Tanzania has remained stuck in the 19th century while other nations are racing across the 21st and into the 22nd century.

RESIDENTS OF AINAMOI AND NYANDO IN PROTEST AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT PLAN TO EVICT THEM FOR KORU DAM PROJECT.

From: Leo Odera Omolo
Date: Sun, Oct 25, 2009 at 3:33 AM

Writes Leo Odera Omolo

Residents of two locations along the Kericho-Muhoroni district border areas are up in arms protesting the government’s proposal to evict them from their land so that a new water dam can be constructed in the area.

Areas affected include Kapchebwai, Kapkormom and Kabarus, all situated in Koru Division, Ainamoi constituency and Koru location in Muhoroni district. They say plans are underway to acquire their land under the land acquisition act, and that close to 25,000 villages will be forced to vacate their land in the near future.

They only came to know about the project on July 15.

They alleged the matter has been kept as top secret between the Provincial Administration, the two MPs representing Muhoroni and Ainamoi cononstituencies.

Immediately after getting information about plan for the proposed Dam, the farmers in the area formed a committee comprising of people from the Rift Valley and Nyanza; a committee of people living around the affected locations.

According to the memorandum, the company called Kunji Consulting engineers and Partners has already been contracted to start the work fairly soon. But the move has been kept a secret, with no proper communications to the affected communities. The water from the Dam, according to the locals, will be pumped to farms in upstream areas like Koibatek and Baring or Muhoroni districts.

“We do not want to be uprooted from our fertile and arable land. We fear that our children will not be able to find school places in the new areas where the communities are to be relocated for settlement. Nobody is speaking about the compensation…” says the memorandum in part.

They residents say they have seen how the Kenya government is evicting citizens of this country in a ruthless and merciless manner in some part of the country, and wanted their views known that they are not willing to cooperate over the planned eviction, and land acquisition, to create room for the Koru Dam.

“Wherever we shall be relocated for resettlement, the move will have an adverse physiological effect on our school going children throughout our lives”, said the statement.

The residents say they were suspicious that they will not be paid for permanent improvement on their farms, that is why they are insisting to be left alone.

“We could be forced out of our land, and finally end up without getting alternative land . The may be compensated, but with inadequate funds, which might not be sufficient to make them afford land elsewhere for their resettlement.

The Memorandum explained that since the matter was disclosed to the public, the resident have stopped cultivating their land, and acute shortage of grains in the area is expected to start biting soon.

Un-called for attcks!

From: Absalom Birai

Not that any leader should not be questioned for that which they say, write, stand for or their policies;but I find the daily attacks on president Obama un-called for. It’s unfair for others to dictate to him on things they want to see done, and done immediately.

When President Obama was elected President,He had his own vision on where he wanted this country to be in the period of four years. He shared this vision during the campaign trails, which some people bought and made up their mind to vote for him. Then,as in now,he has his own unique way of doing things, that is in some ways quite different from all others. All that people need to do, is make some suggestions, pray for him, and give him time to pursue his agenda.

People need to be reminded that we are all different. Even when we have undergone the same training,we have different ways of viewing and doing stuff. There are people who need to stop seeing themselves at the standard. If for some reason we don’t like the way others do things, let us wait for our time when we can have an opportunity to do better. We are all different! Don’t you think so?

Have a wonderful day free from the desire to criticize others even when there is no need to.

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI WARNS SOMALIS ISLAMIST TERRORISTS FOR THREATENING UGANDA AND BURUNDI THAT THEY WILL SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES OF THEIR HENIOUS ACTION.

From: Leo Odera Omolo
Date: Sat, Oct 24, 2009 at 10:47 PM

Writes Leo Odera Omolo

President Yoweri Kaguta Musegeni has issued a stern warning to Islamist rebels in Somalia who have threatened to attack Ugandan capital, Kampala and told them point blank that they would pay a heavy price if they dare to make their threats real.

“These groups, I would like to advice to concentrate on solving their own problems, but if they decide to attack us, they will pay heavily because we know how to deal with those who attack us”, the Ugandan leader told journalists at the end of the African Union summit, which ended on Friday last week.

He further warned that Ugandan peacekeepers in Somalia would pursue and attack al Shabaab rebels if they acted on the9r threats.

“In Mogadishu, we are not active. We are just monitoring. If they say they want to come and kill our people in Kampala like what they are doing in Somalia, we know where to get them”.

President Museveni was reacting to a statement by hardliner al Shabaab insurgents, who have vowed to strike the Kampala City in Uganda and Bujumbura in Burundi, in revenge for what they allege was a rocket attack that killed at least 30 people in Mogadishu on Thursday last week.

“We shall make their people cry. We will attack Bujumbura and Kampala. We will move our fighters to those two capital cities and we shall destroy them”, one Sheikh Ali Mohamed Hussein, a senior al Shabaab Commander, told journalists in Mogadishu last week.

Burundi and Uganda both have about 4000 peacekeepers in Somalia capital as part of the African Union peacekeeping force, which is dabbed AMISOM..

International news agencies, quoting eye witnesses in Mogadishu said peacekeepers fired at least 35 rockets into the capital suburb of Bakara Market area last Thursday, after the al shabaab and Al-Qaeda gunmen there launched mortar shell, as President Sheilh Sharrif Ahmed was about to board the plane that took him to Kampala for the AU summit..The president was boarding the plane when mortar shells rained in the area. The incident was later confirmed by a senior Somali police officer. The presidential flight, however, took off safely unmolested.

The unconfirmed sources in Mogadishu said the peacekeepers had fired back in retaliation, But a spokesman of the AMISOM denied the claims that the au Peacekeepers fired back any artillery.

“We did not shell Bakara. It is these same insurgents who killed the civilians and as their usual propaganda tools, they would place the blame on peacekeepers. We know their tactics”.

The rebel combined groups of al Shabaab and Al Qaeda, which have declared their intention to topple the Somalia Transitional Government, and impose Islamic sharia laws in the country, are being accused of being Al-Qaeda proxies in Somalia, who were trained in Afghanistan by Osama Bin Laden hard-core terrorists.

Asked for his reaction, the head and coordinator of the security intelligence, Gen David Tinyfuze was quoted by the NEWVISION as saying.”The terrorist threat against Uganda is real. But it is not a new threat. Uganda has been a target for the international terrorists since 1990s. Our involvement in Somalia has only raised the stakes and intensified the threat.”.

The General recalled that rebel groups like ADF and LRA were sponsored by the international terrorists groups in Sudan and in other countries where terrorists have been on the loose.

Not only that the groups like al Shabaab and other have received their training in Afaghanistan, “Those who bombed the US Embassies in Nairobi and in Dar Es Salaam in 1998 had also targeted the same facilities, but the Ugandan security intelligence has always remained alert, constantly monitoring and even made some arrests”.

Asked by the interviewer as to what measures Uganda had taken to counter the latest threat, the General said the security intelligence community in that country was monitoring and have a concerted effort which involved collaboration with other agencies from the her Western allies”.

“We are strengthening our security capability system- detection, surveillance sensitizing our team on counter—intelligence in collaboration with information from our other allies”.

“Uganda’s legal system”, he added, “was supportive of such measures since its Anti-Terrorism Act was passed by an Act of Parliament, but the country is also mobilizing its citizens of the need to be alert and aware of the danger posed by terrorists. These combined efforts make the best weapons to counter the terrorists activities. We don’ take a chance because the threat is real. We need to strengthen our capacity to adequately neutralize the threats”.

Other sources quoted Western intelligence community as having confirmed that Somalia of late has become a safe haven for militants, including Jihadists who use it to plot attacks in the region and beyond.

Last week’s attack in Mogadishu become one of the heaviest in recent weeks, and underlined the difficult situation facing the 5,000 or so AU peacekeepers“..

kalonzo musyoka is being railroaded.

From: barack abonyo

Me and Kalonzo are no buddies, But when a spade falls from the sky, you better call it one. If your brother sleeps with your wife, dont say the devil did it. Face it fair and square.
It is not too long ago when Kalonzo quit ODM to be behind the join something called ODM Kenya. ODMK had no tail nor end but still it gained a momentum. Many of us in the opinion forums said it would amount to nothing and as just a matter of confirmation, it is not that it is not that it is about to, the fact is that it is dead.

I read something I could not believe, but I predicted along time ago. As soon as Kalonzo talked of 3 Ks, all the bigwig club 3Ks came against him. Peter Kenneth basically pissed on this idea. Well in my opinion I asked a simple fundamental question, Who is Peter Kenneth? Is he a white man or an albino in Kenya. The argument of who Peter Kenneth is immaterial right now. But the fact that Kenyans need a real leader is a need rather a want.

For once I thought a coalition between Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Uhuru would do it. However I thought wrong. The house of Mumbi is so solid and no red brick will ever be allowed in.
No sooner had Kalonzo showed his interest was he subjected to rejection from the very same people he expected support. The very same people he put his life on the lline for. Peter Kenneth said hell no on behalf of “president Uhuru Kenyatta”, mwangi Kianjuru, said “over our dead body on behalf of Martha Karua and Bonny said Musalia ametosha on behalf of him who never say hell no. There was absolute silence from luoland which of course Kalonzo deserved.

But the question one asks is ” IS THIS FAIR”. Well I do not know and I do not care about the fairness. The struggle tells me that there is no fairness. However, there is nobleness.
After what Kalonzo did for the house of Mumbi, I expected a coalition behind the man from the coast. But what did he get……
Asante ya punda ni mateke.
Did we tell him that?
Yes
Did he listen?
No.
Has Raila been told about that?
Yes.
Is he listening?
Hell no.

Nyanza pay attention. You have an opportunity to do something about this.
And for your info, Mr. Kalonzo, Presidency is for the Kikuyus, Moi was a fluke.

Subject: Abortion Kills More Black Americans Than the Seven Leading Causes of Death Combined, Says CDC Data

Peace!

I was conversing with a friend of mine over the phone this night and telling the person the condition (genocide) that Black people face in the West specifically America (Egypt). Then I said to myself let me “google“ the leading cause of death for black people in the US…lol just to make sure…and I came across this article which is NEW…and it basically documented everything that I was relaying in my two earlier conversations with Doreen and Sean. I believe everything happens for a reason and we have more evidence/proof than ever in recorded history to prove THE TRUTH. This to me is just another piece of what I considered “unscripted confirmation“. Read the article below carefully and understand that Black women in the U.S. make up I would say 6 to 7% at most (my estimation) of the general population of the U.S. so remember that when you are reading through this article…“If you do not deal with the problem the problem will deal with you!“.

Abortion Kills More Black Americans Than the Seven Leading Causes of Death Combined, Says CDC Data
Friday, October 23, 2009
By Karen Schuberg

(CNSNews.com) – Abortion kills more black Americans than the seven leading causes of death combined, according to data collected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for 2005, the latest year for which the abortion numbers are available.

Abortion killed at least 203,991 blacks in the 36 states and two cities (New York City and the District of Columbia) that reported abortions by race in 2005, according to the CDC. During that same year, according to the CDC, a total of 198,385 blacks nationwide died from heart disease, cancer, strokes, accidents, diabetes, homicide, and chronic lower respiratory diseases combined. These were the seven leading causes of death for black Americans that year.

A total of 49 jurisdictions reported their abortion numbers for 2005 to the CDC. These included all 50 states–except California, Louisiana, and New Hampshire–and New York City and the District of Columbia. Of these 49 jurisdiction, only 36 states plus New York City and the District of Columbia reported the number of abortions by race.

Of these 36 states, Georgia reported the largest number of abortions–18,325–among African Americans. Idaho and Montana reported the fewest, 16 and 17 respectively.

Among the large states not reporting abortions by race–and thus where the number of blacks killed by abortions is not included in the national total of 203,991–are California, Florida, Illinois and the rest of New York state outside of New York City.

According to the CDC, the total of 203,991 blacks killed by abortion in 2005 also does not include those aborted by “private physicians’ procedures.”

Every year since 1969, the CDC has amassed abortion data by state or area of occurrence, requesting information each year from the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and New York City. The CDC attempts to collect data on abortions by the age, race and marital status of the women who undergo them as well as the type of abortion procedure.

However, the “CDC is not a regulatory agency,” Senior Press Officer Karen Hunter told CNSNews.com. “So while we are required by Congress to collect this information, states are not required to provide any data to the CDC, including abortion surveillance.”

In 2005, a total of 820,151 legal abortions were performed in the 49 jurisdication that reported abortions to the CDC, according to the “Abortion Surveillance” report, which is published in the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, or MMWR, for Nov. 28, 2008.

The report states, “Approximately 1 in 5 U.S. pregnancies have ended in abortion,” and also notes some limitations on the data: “The overall number, ratio, and rate of abortions are conservative estimates; the total numbers of legal induced abortions provided by central health agencies and reported to the CDC for 2005 were probably lower than the numbers actually performed.”

In Table 9 of the report, it states that there were 203,991 blacks killed by abortion, which comprises 35.5 percent of all abortions reported for that year.

Rev. Clenard H. Childress, Jr., founder of BlackGenocide.org, told CNSNews.com that according to numbers gleaned from statistics provided by the Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion group, 1,784 blacks are aborted each day. Also, he notes on his Web site that three out of five African-American women will obtain an abortion.

Childress said the information and sources on his Web site have never been challenged by abortion-access supporters. “This is because they can see that themselves, and they know them probably to be far worse than we’re reporting. The facts come from the pro-abort/pro-choice community,” he said.

“You want to go to a reliable source where people can’t dismiss what you’re saying,” Childress said.

“Yet the Congressional Black Caucus, NAACP, Urban League, and the National Action Committee of Al Sharpton fail abysmally to report not only the decimation but the health ramifications which are questionably very pertinent and provable,” said Childress.

“It would be one thing if we were talking about something hypothetically, but these are actual empirical proofs. … We simply want the health issues of abortion to be discussed,” Childress added.

Susan Cohen, director of government affairs at the Guttmacher Institute, said that black women are not inordinately targeted.

It is the high number of unintended pregnancies among black women that explains the disproportionate number of black abortions, she stated in a policy analysis, “Abortion and Women of Color: The Bigger Picture (2008),” which was provided to CNSNews.com by Guttmacher Institute spokeswoman Rebecca Wind.

While acknowledging that the abortion rate for blacks in the United States is “almost 5 times that for white women,” Cohen concluded in her analysis, “these higher unintended pregnancy rates (among African American women) reflect the particular difficulties that many women in minority communities face in accessing high-quality contraceptive services and in using their chosen method of birth control consistently and effectively over long periods of time.”

“Because black women experience so many more unintended pregnancies than any other group—sharply disproportionate to their numbers in the general population—they are more likely to seek out and obtain abortion services than any other group,” said Cohen.

When asked to comment on this report, Dr. Freda Bush, an obstetrician and gynecologist in private practice in Jackson, Miss., told CNSNews.com that she found the explanation for the high rate of black abortions “disingenuous.”

“I would just like for them to explain why there’s such a significant proportion of their clinics that are located in minority communities,” said Bush, who is black. “So if you’ll notice, I did not mention that as a factor when I talked to you [earlier], so I was not accusing them of anything.

“I was just pointing out the fact that we have more, but since they brought it up, I would like for them to explain where their clinics are located, and why their clinics are located in that area,” she added.

“I would also like for an explanation of why their founder, Margaret Sanger, who was a known eugenist, also had a Negro project, and an explanation if that was not directed at the ‘undesirables,’” said Bush. “So, I’m not accusing them of anything. I would just like an explanation for the practices that they have continued.”

Dr. Alveda King, niece of slain civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., is a pro-life activist. In August 2007 she told a meeting of Priests for Life that abortionists “plant their killing centers in minority neighborhoods and prey upon women who think they have no hope.”

“The great irony,” she said, “is that abortion has done what the Klan only dreamed of

FOREIGN WORKERS IN MINING SECTOR

From: Yona Fares Maro

Tanzania’s mining industry is a sector on the verge of a boom. The current administration has been propositioned by various countries and mining companies seeking to take advantage of the nation’s ample natural resources such as gold, precious and semi-precious gemstones, metals and ores. Like in many other African countries, China has made many inroads in Tanzania’s mining industry.
It appears that Foreign companies not only manage/control certain mining interests in Tanzania, but Foreign citizens are also working in these mines. A recent news report indicated that two Foreign workers got into a fight resulting in the death of one of them.

First off, let there be no confusion. This piece is not anti-Foreign by any measure. Some Countries policies of exporting citizens to live and work in many of the countries where These countries have invested is a sound policy for their future and growing population. However, what is good for These Countries is not necessarily good for Tanzania, hence, it is imperative for Tanzania to enter into agreements with Such Countries very carefully.

There is little reason to have Foreign workers in Tanzanian mines. Tanzanians themselves are not only quite capable of working in their national mines, they are also in need of steady employment, something that the mining sector can provide. Furthermore, the presence of Foreign workers in other parts of the African continent has led to serious conflicts because this imported labor deprives citizens of work opportunities. Such tensions should not be encouraged by agreements that favor These Counties and its citizens but disadvantage local labor.

There is also the issue of reciprocity. It must also be remembered that it is hard for Tanzanians to go to Many of those Counties , work and live there. Considering this reality, any future agreements between Tanzania and Foreign Countries should make it easier for Tanzanian businessmen and women to not only get to These Countries , but open their own businesses.

These Countries Growing economy means that it is almost impossible for any country to not interact with them . One can only hope that a nation Tanzania will make sure that its dealings with Foreign businesses benefit not just a few, but many Tanzanians.

The History of the Development of AIDS
Chapter Excerpt from “State Origin: The Evidence of the Laboratory Birth of AIDS”
by Boyd E. Graves, J.D.

The true history of the origin of AIDS can be traced throughout the 20th Century and back to 1878. On April 29 of that year the United States passed a “FEDERAL QUARANTINE ACT”.

The United States began a significant effort to investigate “causes” of epidemic diseases. In 1887, the effort was enhanced with the mandate of the U.S. “LABORATORY OF HYGIENE”. This lab was run by Dr. Joseph J. Kinyoun, a deep rooted-racist, who served the eugenics movement with dedication.

Two years later, 1889, we were able to identify “mycoplasmas”, a transmissible agent, that is now found at the heart of human diseases, including (AIDS) HIV.

In 1893, we strengthened the Federal Quarantine Act and suddenly there was an explosion of polio.

In 1898, we knew we could use mycoplasma to cause epidemics, because we were able to do so in cattle, and we saw it in tobacco plants.

In 1899, the U.S. Congress began investigating “leprosy in the United States”.

In 1902, We organized a “Station for Experimental Evolution” and we were able to identify diseases of an ethnic nature.

In 1904, we used mycoplasma to cause an epidemic in horses.

In 1910, we used mycoplasma to cause an epidemic in fowl/birds.

In 1917, we formed the “Federation of the American Society for Experimental Biology” (FASEB).

In 1918, the influenza virus killed millions of unsuspecting. It was a flu virus modified with a bird mycoplasma for which human primates had no “acquired immunity”.

In 1921, lead eugenics philosopher, Betrand Russell, publicly supported the “necessity for “organized” plagues” against the Black population.

In 1931, we secretly tested African Americans and we tested AIDS in sheep.

In 1935, we learned we could crystallize the tobacco mycoplasma, and it would remain infectious.

In 1943, we officially began our bio-warfare program. Shortly thereafter, we were finding our way to New Guinea to study mycoplasma in humans.

In 1945, we witnessed the greatest influx of foreign scientists in history into the U.S. biological program. Operation Paperclip will live in infamy as one of the darkest programs of a twisted parallel government fixated on genocide.

In 1946, the United States Navy hired Dr. Earl Traub, a notorious racist biologist.
A May appropriations hearing confirms the existence of a “secret” biological weapon.

In 1948, we know that the United States confirmed the endorsement of “devising a scheme” in which to address the issue of overpopulation in certain racial groups. State Department’s George McKennan’s memo will forever illuminate the eugenics mendacity necessary for genocide of millions of innocent people.

In 1949, Dr. Bjorn Sigurdsson isolates the VISNA virus. Visna is man made and shares some “unique DNA” with HIV. See, Proceedings of the United States, NAS, Vol. 92, pp. 3283 – 7, (April 11, 1995).

In 1951, we now know our government conducted its first virus attack on African Americans. Crates in Pennsylvania were tainted to see how many Negro crate handlers in Virginia would acquire the placebo virus.. They were also experimentally infecting sheep and goats. According to author Eva Snead, they also held their first world conference on an AIDS-like virus.

In 1954, Dr. Bjorn Sigurdsson publishes his first paper on Visna virus and establishes himself as the “Grandfather of the AIDS virus.” He will encounter competition from Dr. Carlton Gajdusek.

In 1955, they were able to artificially assemble the tobacco mosaic virus. Mycoplasmas will forever be at the heart of the U.S. biological warfare program

In 1957, future U.S. president, Rep Gerald Ford and others gave the U.S. Pentagon permission to aggressively deploy offensive biological agents. There are no recorded cases of AIDS prior to the 1957 creation of “Special Operation-X.” (The SOX) program served as the immediate prototype program for the Special Virus program to begin in 1962.

By 1960, Nikita Kruschev had been let in on the biological weapon. His 1960 statement will long reflect the arrogance of the secret blend of communism and democracy. The two countries would go to a November 1972 agreement to cull the Black Population.

In 1961, scientist Haldor Thomar publishes that viruses cause cancer. In 1995, he and Carlton Gajdusek informed the National Academy of Sciences that “the study of visna in sheep would be the best test for candidate anti-HIV drugs.”

In 1962, under the cover of cancer research, the United States charts a path to commit premeditated murder, the “Special Virus” program begins on February 12th. Dr. Len Hayflick sets up a U.S. mycoplasma laboratory at Stanford University. Many believe the “Special Virus” program began in November 1961 with a Phizer contract.

Beginning in 1963 and for every year thereafter, the “Special Virus” program conducted annual progress reviews at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. The annual meetings are representative of the aggressive nature in which the United States pursued the development of AIDS.

In 1964, the United States Congress gave full support for the leukemia/lymphoma (AIDS) virus research.

In 1967, the National Academy of Sciences launched a full scale assault on Africa. The CIA (Technical Services Division) acknowledged its secret inoculator program.

In 1969, Fort Detrick told world scientists and the Pentagon asked for more money, they knew they could make AIDS. Nixon’s July 18 secret memo to Congress on “Overpopulation” serves as the start of the paper trail of the AIDS Holocaust.

In 1970, President Nixon signed PL91-213 and John D. Rockefeller, III became the “Population Czar.” Nixon’s August 10 National Security Memo leaves no doubt as to the genocidal nature of depopulation.

In 1971, Progress Report #8 is issued. The flowchart (pg. 61) will forever resolve the true laboratory birth origin of AIDS. Eventually the Special Virus program will issue 15 reports and over 20,000 scientific papers. The flowchart links every scientific paper, medical experiment and U.S. contract. The flowchart would remain “missing” until 1999. World scientists were stunned. The flowchart will gain in significance throughout the 21st Century. It is also clear the experiments conducted under Phase IV-A of the flowchart are our best route to better therapy and treatment for people living with HIV/AIDS. The first sixty pages of progress report #8 of the Special Virus program prove conclusively the specific goal of the program. By June 1977, the Special Virus program had produced 15, 000 gallons of AIDS. The AIDS virus was attached as complement to vaccines sent to Africa and Manhattan. However, because of the thoroughness of authors, like Dr. Robert E. Lee, we also learn the Stanford Mycoplasma Laboratory issues one of the first papers with AIDS in the title. “Viral Infections in Man Associated with Acquired Immunological Deficiency States.” The primary scientist, Dr. Thomas Merigan, was a “consultant” to the Special Virus program.

Progress Report # 8 at 104 – 106 proves Dr. Robert Gallo was secretly working on the development of AIDS with full support of the sector of the U.S. government that seeks to kill its citizens. Dr. Gallo can not explain why he excluded his role as a “project officer” for the Special Virus program from his biographical book. Dr. Gallo’s early work and discoveries will finally be viewed in relation to the flowchart. We now know where every experiment fits into the flowchart. The “research logic” is irrefutable evidence of a federal “Manhattan-style project” to develop a “contagious” cancer that “selectively” kills. Dr. Gallo’s 1971 paper is identical to his 1984 AIDS announcement.

Progress Report #8 at 273 – 286 proves we gave AIDS to monkeys. Since 1962, the United States and Dr. Robert Gallo have been inoculating monkeys and re-releasing them back into the wild. Thus, even government scientists are baffled that both HIV-1 and HIV-II would “suddenly emerge” from two distinct monkey ancestral relatives during the last 100 years. A 1999 Japanese study will ultimately prove the Man to Monkey origin of Monkey AIDS. The monkey experiments summary definitively proves Monkey AIDS is also man-made.

In 1972, the United States and the Soviet Union entered into a biological agreement that would signal the death knell for the Black Population. The 1972 agreement for collaboration and cooperation in the development of offensive biological agents is still U. S. policy.

In 1973, we find that world scientist, Garth Nicolson reports on his project, “Role of the Cell Surface in Escape From Immunological Surveillance.” His report is accompanied by seven published papers. Dr. Nicolson worked in conjunction with the Special Virus program from 1972 until 1978. Dr. Nicolson is considered by some to be Dr. Gallo’s “West Coast” counterpart. It is strongly held that because of Dr. Nicolson, Dr. Robert Gallo and Dr. Luc Montagnier would secretly meet in Southern California to coordinate what they would and would not say about the special virus development program.

In 1974, Furher Henry Kissinger releases his NSSM-200 (U.S. Plan to Address Overpopulation). It is the only issue of discussion at the World Population Conference in Bucharest, Romania. The men in the shadows had won, the whole world agrees to secretly cull Africa’s population. Today it is Africa and other undesirables. Tomorrow it may be you.

In 1975, President Gerald Ford signs National Security Defense Memorandum #314. The United States implements the Kissinger NSSM-200.

In 1976, the United States issues Progress Report #13 of the Special Virus program. The report proves the United States had various international agreements with the Russians, Germans, British, French, Canadians and Japanese. The plot to kill Black people has wide international support. In March, the Special Virus began production of the AIDS virus, by June 1977, the program will have produced 15,000 gallons of AIDS. President Jimmy Carter allows for the continuation of the secret plan to cull the Black Population.

In 1977, Dr. Robert Gallo and the top Soviet Scientists meet to discuss the proliferation of the 15,000 gallons of AIDS. They attach AIDS as complement to the Small pox vaccine for Africa, and the “experimental” hepatitis B vaccine for Manhattan. According to authors June Goodfield and Alan Cantwell, it is Batch #751 that was administered in New York to thousands of innocent people. This government will never be able to repay the people for the social rape, humiliation and out right prejudice people with HIV/AIDS face on a daily basis. The men in the shadows of the AIDS curtain accurately calculated that you would not care if only Blacks and gays are dying. In fact you don’t care that nearly a half million Gulf War veterans are encumbered with something contagious. Soon there will be no more Black people and a confused military, older White people will start suddenly dying and you still won’t get it. Be here now for us, give us a chance to be there for you.

Suddenly, just as President Nixon had predicted, there was explosive death. On November 4, 1999, the U.S. White House announced,…. “Within a period as short as five years, all new infections of HIV in the United States will be African American….” At some point our experts must be allowed to begin the interface process of allowing the history of this virus program to count. It is ludicrous and preposterous to fail to review the U.S. virus program in which to elucidate the etiology of AIDS.

More of the history of the secret virus program can be found in the archives of Dr. John B. Moloney. A review of the files under Dr. Moloney’s name would further pinpoint additional dates and records consistent with one of the greatest hunts, capture and proliferation of disease in the history of the human race. We have found the missing link. It is the guts of the research logic of a federal program that seeks to kill. We have found a curtain of AIDS. We can identify some of the people who work in the shadows of the curtain. Dr. Robert Gallo and Dr. Garth Nicolson must lead us in review. In light of the attack mechanisms available in which to inhibit AIDS, it is time that not another person be stricken with this relic, synthetic mycoplasma chimera.

Help those of us who are still here to realize full and contributory lives. We are all one people.

On September 28, 1998 I filed suit against the United States for the “creation”, “production” and “proliferation” of AIDS. On November 7, 2000, the appeals court agreed with the lower court and held AIDS bioengineering as “frivolous.” The world continues to wait for the court to rule on the resubmitted issues. The court can not continue to simply brush aside our experts and the government’s flowchart.

I have been asked to give my perspective with regard to the federal program MK-NAOMI . MK-NAOMI is the code for the development of AIDS. The “MK” portion stands for the two co-authors of the AIDS virus, Robert Manaker and Paul Kotin. The “NAOMI” portion stands for “Negroes are Only Momentary Individuals.” The U.S. government continues to orchestrate silence from the very top echelons of the Congress and military. At present there is no accountability. The good people will ultimately create a tsunami of public outrage. We can not allow the state an autocratic right to govern outside of the Constitution. Our society is structured to hide crimes committed by the state, while punishing citizens for minor indiscretions. Their strategy focuses on the general confusion they can create via manipulation of the media. They are very good at what they do. We must become more focused in our continued presentation of the flowchart. The flowchart is the absolute missing link in proving the existence of a coordinated research program to develop a cancer virus that depletes the immune system. New diseases do not create old illnesses.

This compilation of court documents and correspondence is the true effort of one man’s achievement in solving the mystery of the origin of AIDS. We have found the origin of AIDS, it is us.

Pray for Rwanda progress if you wish Tanzania well.

From: Yona Fares Maro
Date: Fri, Oct 23, 2009 at 3:00 PM

It is my considered opinion that why the nation has put up with this unproductive leadership for this long has been due to the lack of a real external threat, whether political, economical or military, to her corporate existence from her immediate neighbours, who until recently, had all been just a step short of being a collection of failed states with Tanzania playing the big brother role to most. The premise of my conclusion is anchor on the extrapolation of what is captured in the next paragraph.

Robert Greene and Joost Elffers in law two of their book, the 48 Laws of Power, did state that “without enemies around us, we grow lazy. An enemy at our heels sharpens our wits, keeping us focused and alert”. To expatiate on the truth of this, he wrote of how the communist party led by Mao in China who had being fighting with their nationalist counterpart had used the invading Japanese army to train and keep it ragtag army in fighting shape that enabled them to defeat their nationalist counterpart after the withdrawal of the Japanese. And years later when a Japanese diplomatic attempted to apologise to Mao for the invasion, he replied” should I not thank you instead?” without a worthy opponent, a man or group cannot grow stronger, he explained.

A look through modern history would even further prove the validity of my submission. The great nation of America is what it is today because there used to be a collection of worthy opponents under the name of Union of Soviet Socialist Republic [ USSR]. America took to space exploration because Russia did, first. The nation of Israel today harbours the most efficient and deadly secret service on earth, Mossad, due to real threat to her existence by her hostile neighbours. Iraq and

Iran became regional military super power due to an 8 years war between them. While America disrupted Iraq’s advancement with her invasion, Iran has continued to press forward culminating in her current effort at nuclear technology for nebulous reasons. South Korea in her struggle with north Korea quickly out paced them, economically, that the north has been menacing them with military invasion for not being good brothers and neighbour by doling out freebies like electricity and food! The list is almost endless.

One factor common to all these nations is that to support their military operations, they had had to develop and expand their economy: educational institutions, health, finance and more importantly, their technological capability. The, computer, internet, Hummer jeep, jets liners etc were all initially developed by researchers and technologist for the U.S military and were only adopted to civilian use, much later. The United States economy is idea based primarily because they wanted to give every citizen the opportunity to contribute his or her quota into protecting her from the outside world, from anywhere—within and without the government— and in return, receive just returns for their effort whether in inventions or innovations.

Unfortunately for us as a people, our opponent has been local, the wachagga against the Wahaya and so forth with one harnessing the military and the other, the economy; one community against another and one hamlet after another. This accounts for why the issues of regional and state or even community development have largely not been affected by the best of reasons but fear of the other becoming better and stronger than us. This is also why the issues of corruption amongst government officials are scarcely condemned and punished in Tanzania.

The community from whence an appointed or elected officials hails from engages in wild jubilations not because one of them has been given the opportunity to write the name of the community in gold in the history of the country’s development but because their turn has finally come to “appropriate” the common purse for a while. And to meet their expectations, developmental projects, at variance with the actual need of the community is sometimes, relocated or sited in such places, away from areas of need, only to suffer under utilization, later.

Hopefully, in the not too distant future one such opponent, Rwanda , would emerge. For now, it is still busy getting it right, both politically and economically. Already, she seems to have gotten it right politically with the election of Paul Kagame . Economically, she already, is poaching into Tanzania’s industrial complex with simple incentives like reliable electricity, adherence to contractual obligations with court sanctions for defaults, security of life and property and predictable government interference in economic sector.

For now, her radar coverage has not yet captured territorial expansionism and influence peddling. Someday, it will do one of the two or, both. That is when, tribalism, corruption, nepotism, mediocrity, Republic , state and local government quota system, and all such negative vices and devices that have held the country hostage with the active support of all Tanzanians will suddenly be blasted by them as the fear of an economic subjugation under external power, this time, not for the usual, interest of peace, justice or fair play mantra but because he is the most suitable and competent to do the job, before this “people over runs us”. This fear will keep us on our toes and speedily eliminate disunity and parochial interest pursuit from amongst us as football had been doing whenever the eagles of the time past were playing.

Pray for Rwanda progress if you wish Tanzania well.

TRIBULATIONS AND TRIUMPHS OF 8.4.4 GRADUATES.

From: Kaloki Wamua Wakenya
Date: Thu, Oct 22, 2009 at 7:09 AM

After reading a blog on 8.4.4., as a first hand victim, I am obliged to write on our tribulations, triumphs and the way forward.

The year 1985 was one with high levels of anxiety for those of us who were to sit KCPE for the first time. None of us knew what to expect and all around us were negative comments about the new system of education. I however salute the few dedicated teachers who ensured we worked hard to pass and at the same time counseling and encouraging us. Without some of these teachers and parents, many of us could have lost hope.

After four years in 1989, the level of anxiety was much higher than in 1985. The media was full of criticisms against the new system and were wondering loudly whether the secondary graduates were well prepared for university education. Having overcome the anxiety in 1985 many soldiered on and could courageously take on A-Level students on debates. I remember one time our class mates challenging Form Six Students to sit an A-Level Economics paper and show them dust. The challenge was not taken kindly and the school almost went into a war pitting the majority 8. 4. 4 s against the elite A- Level students.

The year 1989 passed by and a number of us made it to the university where even the lecturers could tell us that we were half baked. I remember one lecturer telling us that she did not expect her to pass her course since we had not done preparatory courses at A – Levels. She said some of us were not mature enough to wash ourselves properly. I can however report that a number of my classmates have got their Ph Ds from world renowned universities and others are doing well as top managers in multinational corporations while the poor lecturer is still struggling with her PhD.

From that day on we learnt that we had to assert ourselves for the
university and society at large to accept us and many a lecturer had to eat humble pie by being told to resign if they thought they were not teaching the right people. There are also a number of common courses that were shared between A-Level graduates and 8. 4. 4. and as can be confirmed from the state universities that were in existence then, the 8. 4. 4 lot performed much better than their A- Level counterparts.

The trend continued and faculties that could not produce 1st class honors before started to produce 1st class in 1994/1995 graduations. What I do not know was whether this was political or not but those of us who proceeded for graduate studies saw a trend where those from 8. 4. 4. track were habitually performing better than those from 7.4.2.3 track in graduate studies.

Casual studies of professional exams in Kenya also reveal that pass rates in KASNEB examinations improved markedly with the enrolment of those from the 8.4. 4 track. Better still the recent graduates of such professional examinations are doing well in the job market both nationally and internationally.

I am not denying that there were some flaws with the 8.4. 4 system but would like to encourage all that have followed the 8.4.4. track not to allow anybody to put them down.

More than we have done in the past, we can still do much more and yes we can revolutionize Kenya.

With the old guard schooled in elitism and exclusive management and politics, we need to substitute each of them with those who have been schooled in inclusive approach to issues through the 8.4.4 track.

We’ve got to revolutionize Kenya and I say YES WE CAN for the future is in our hands and we are the majority.

The costly price of stealing!

From: Absalom Birai
Date: Fri, Oct 23, 2009 at 2:19 PM

The sixth commandment is very clear and needs no explanation. It reads,”You shall not steal.” (Exodus 20:15).

I am yet to find anyone who likes a thief;no,not even family members. As soon as people know that you are a thief, they shun you and don’t want anything to do with you. No company can hire you if they know that you are a thief.

If caught, the price is huge-Many years behind bars, huge fine, and more often than not, depending on the crowd, people have been beaten until they died. That is how much people hate stealing.

I met someone just recently who spent 10 years behind bars for stealing with violent. I am sure that you are aware of people who have spent more years behind bars for stealing. But are people learning anything? I am afraid, not. Both young and old are involved in several forms of stealing that will finally catch up with them. Below are some of the ways in which people steal:

-People walk into the store with the plan of changing price tags or leave their old clothes and put on new ones.
-Employees stealing from their place of work, student stealing from their fellow students, people fueling their cars and taking off without paying for it.
-Spouses stealing from each other and parents/children stealing from each other.
-Employees asking fellow employees to punch in for them whenever they are late.

So,what’s the solution? If you are involved in any kind of stealing, then please stop from now hence.Purpose in your heart never to go back. If that seems too much for you, then know for sure that a thief has got but 40 days. One day, you will look back and regret. But then,it will be forever too late.

Have a good weekend filled with the presence of God in your heart. Will you?

Just a thought!

Constitutional Review – Need to be Decisive

From: Sande Olocho
Date: Fri, Oct 23, 2009 at 4:28 AM

Allow me to explain this the African way:

Majority of us know about the story of the hyena that was going to a party and as he approached the venue he came to a forked path and since he was not sure which way to take, whether left or right, in his perceived wisdom he decided to take both – placed two legs on one path and two legs in the other path. He ended up being split in two and died. Never reached the venue!

I use this illustration to relate to our current state of things with the constitutional review. There are reports that the ‘Committee of Experts’ on constitutional review has retreated to the Coast to fine tune the constitutional draft and that it is a HYBRID system. Not left and not right, something in between.

The Good Book is very categorical – in the book of Revelation Chapter 3 verse 15-16:
‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other!
So, because you are lukewarm – neither hot nor cold – I am about to spit you out of my mouth.’

Our Good Lord likes decisiveness.

I like the words of Gospel Singer, Ron Kenoly:

‘ … you are either on the Lord’s side or the devil’s side. It is a battle between good and evil and there is no demilitarized zone’

Being indecisive is sinful, cowardly and deceitful. As country we have lived many lies for too long and it is time we charted a course for once and the constitution is the only avenue available to us. We should not be taken for a ride.

The Review Team can only opt for a hybrid if we vote to choose between the Parliamentary and Presidential Constitution Drafts and we have a near tie or a tie.

What we are demanding are two drafts so that we can choose one through the ballot.

But as it is now, they can be sure that the draft will still be shot down. Hybrid is what we already have today and we do not like it much. So what hybrid are they working on?
We have lit the match for the wick and the incendiary of frustration is well packed; the ‘system’ is ready to vent. They should consider that as they prepare to avail the document to the public. Kenyans have had it up to here! You better trust me. And they know about vested interests and perpetuation of the same agenda.

Tom something……Cholmondeley

From: odhiambo okecth
Date: Fri, Oct 23, 2009 at 6:54 AM

Kenya is the only country where justice is dispensed in a way that promotes impunity. A man steals a goat and he is jailed for 8 years- last Monday.

This guy kills a Kenyan and he is acquitted. He goes out and kills another Kenyan, and he is jailed for 12 months, serves 5 months and is set free.

He is going to kill another Kenyan soon, for he knows nothing will happen to him.

Justice served for the high and mighty.

Oto
Nairobi

British aristocrat Thomas Cholmondeley was finally set free on Friday after serving five months at the Kamiti Maximum Prison over the killing of stonemason Robert Njoya.

Officials said Mr Cholmondeley is among the 7,000 prisoners set free under the Presidential pardon during the Kenyatta Day celebrations.

Commissioner of Prisons Isaiah Osugo confirmed the release and said there was nothing peculiar about it.

“Tom has been set free because he is remaining with less than six months to complete his jail term; he is not the only one being set free,” Mr Osugo told Capital News on telephone.

“We have cleared him, he is a free man,” he added.

Sources within the Prisons headquarters told Capital News that Mr Cholmondeley’s name was in the list of the over 7,000 prisoners who were set free under the Presidential pardon program on October 20.

The aristocrat’s lawyer Fred Ojiambo was unavailable for comment on Friday.

Mr Cholmondeley’s family members were equally out of reach but reports indicated they had lined up a series of posh celebrations both in Nairobi and their Soysambu ranch in Naivasha.

Mr Cholmondeley, the sole heir to Kenya’s most famous white land-owning dynasty was sentenced in May 2009 for eight months in jail for manslaughter in the killing of Robert Njoya.

Police said they were on high alert following reports that residents in Naivasha would launch protests near the family’s 48,000-acre ranch to protest the release as was the case when he was handed the jail-term eight months ago.

When Justice Muga Apondi read the ruling in May, he said: “There was evidence that Cholmondeley did not have malice aforethought in killing the deceased, and that he bore him no grudge and the shooting was not pre-mediated.”

He stated: “I hereby wish to impose a light sentence on the accused to allow him to reflect on his life and change to an appropriate direction. The upshot of this is I hereby sentence him to eight months in prison.”

He had been charged with murder but the judge convicted him for manslaughter.

THE MAJORITY OF RESIDENTS OF GEM WANT THE NEW DISTRICT HEADQUARTERS ESTABLISHED AT NYANGWESO TRADING CENTRE AND NOT YALA TOWN

From: Leo Odera Omolo

Writes Leo Odera Omolo In Kisumu City.

DISCONTENT, mistrust and tension is rapidly rising up over the centrally situated place in Gem Constituency in the newly created Gem district, with the bulk of the population backing and supporting Nyangweso Centre as the right place.

This is opposed to the wishes of the minority group of the so-called intellectuals, who have insisted that the new district headquarters should be in Yala Town..
Other logistics favoring Nyangweso is that it has enough land for the D.C’s Office and other departmental offices as well as, living quarters for civil servants, public utility land plots and room for expansion to accommodate district heads of departments.

Several consultative meetings attended by leading personalities in Gem to have the matter sorted out have failed.

Some civic leaders have pointed an accusing finger at the so-called intellectuals, arguing that some of them have allegedly grabbed land and have constructed buildings in Yala Town, which they want to rent out to the civil servants.

Others, they said, had grabbed a number of land plots in Yala Town, which is to cater for their own selfish economic interests.

Geographically, Yala town is located only three kilometers from the Gem-Kisa boundary, in the northeast and two kilometer between Gem and Bunyore district in the Southeast. It is indeed a border town. The town is situated right on the border of Nyanza-Western Provinces.

Nyangweso market, on the other hand, is situated right in the middle of Gem constituency, and its elevation to a new district headquarters would give equal opportunity to people from West, North, South and East Gem areas, to be served by the Provincial Administration.

Gem has 9 administrative locations, two Divisions, namely Yala and Wagai. Yala has only paltry number of voters, and its population is a mixture of Luos and the so-called Gem Bantu. Wagai has the largest concentration of the electorate, boosting up to 60,000 voters in an area estimated to have a population of 184,000 people. It is the home of the indigenous Gem people with pure Luo blood.

Addressing newsmen in Kisumu on Wednesday, Gem MP, Jakoyo Midiwo said he had no quarrel with anybody or the so-called intellectuals, but he was serving the interests of the electorate. He himself hails from South Gem, near Akala, close to Gem Asembo and Gem Seme borders, but could not advocate for Akala or Ramula to be the new district headquarters, as the two centers are located right on the borders. “I want the new D.C. to be centrally based so that the people may have easy access to the services delivery by the government. This is why I have agreed with my people that the new district headquarters be established at Nyangweso Market. This will give the Gem people easy time consulting the administrators and experts on development matters” He said.

He said each time the resident called for a meeting, the so-called intellectuals skips it, and prefer lobbying through underground and clandestine contacts. ”We are serving the Wananchi, and now a few interested individuals are serving their selfish interests, “the abrasive MP said.

Civic leaders in Gem have accused unnamed one time MP for the area as the person who is fueling controversies over the issue, because he wanted the District headquarters to be close to his home. He is equally backed by some university Professors who wanted their posh houses to be rented by civil servants, because most of them live in Nairobi and in other towns and therefore are not bothered by what is going on back home.

Other sources says that some of the intellectuals have gone as far as renovating their houses, ready to have them rented to government officials, because they rarely go home. These are the people claiming that the township is the most suitable place for the district headquarters.

“But they should go by the wishes of the majority of Gem people who have decided and settled on Nyangweso Market. Let the greedy people apply for plots at Nyangweso and build the new town if they want to tap the rents from civil servants”, said one civic leader who requested for his anonymity.

Midiwo said he has always welcomed and is ready to work with those people with constructive ideas about how to develop Gem constituency, and now Gem district, but will not succumb to those serving selfish interest to continue causing confusion over the new district headquarters. “Le them come and listen to the people”, he said.
